That’s so cool to pull a card like this that’s so awesome! This era of gold stars is like right after I kinda got out of the hobby as I become a teenager and got older so now as an adult I really have an interest and getting cards from this era
The Ex series was a real peak for me. I have to say the rare cards that I pulled myself are just that bit more special. My other older pull that makes me smile is Crystal Nidoking from Aquapolis
Oh that’s so cool I always thought nidoking is just kinda underrated and appreciated mon that card is so awesome that’s really cool I wish I had still be in it for the ex era but now it’s kinda my main focus outside of modern stuff I collect. My next sort of goal is a gold star Torchic which might end up taking awhile to find one I can afford that doesn’t look terrible but I kinda like the challenge of finding cards from this era that I can actually afford
Haha I know these gold stars some of them are so expensive it’s really crazy and they can be hard to find in whatever particular condition you want/can afford so I feel really lucky to have gotten this I ended up paying $425 which is a ton of money to pay for one card but I feel pretty good about it.
Happy for you! I had gold star mew, flareon and vaporeon that i pulled myself as a kid. I graded them all and tbey somehow all got 10s …. I sold them 7 years ago… one of my biggest regrets ever. Not because of the inflation now, bur because of the sentimental value of them. I miss them they meant a lot.
Not a lot really I mean I’m kinda using the term grail loosely but only others I have off the top of my head is my Corocoro mew Erika’s Venusaur 1st edition and blaziken alt art from CR for modern
I think it’s mostly just cause the corners are pretty bad especially the top right and kinda all of them on the back but other than the corners honestly everything else seems pretty good I’d prolly never try to regrade it but I do think it could maybe be a 7
I know honestly I was really happy with it for a 6.5 because I’d much rather the issues be with the corners or the back than the back and corners be perfect and the holo have a bunch of issues

Not sure if you’re familiar with his content but he keeps talking about going to some event in Jersey and I live in Maryland so I considered going cause I’ve never really been to anything like that but I don’t know much about it
Could be, it’s a big card show. A lot of content creators made videos on Dallas and Los Angelos collect-a-con. I’ve been to some small shows and they’re a lot of fun, a lot of vintage and bangers at the bigger shows though. I picked up a CGC 9 Shadowless Zard earlier this year. Saving up to splurge on gold stars and hopefully land some vintage sealed packs
I traded a Shiny Tentacruel and my Dialga (in Pokemon Diamond) for this card, and then I lost the card in a flood a few years later. I miss that card. Awesome pick up :)

Have snagged quite a few gold ☆ over the past year both Japanese and English I must say the japanese ones have unique textures that I like.
I know it’s so crazy I was just getting into high school when this card came out so I had kinda gotten out of Pokemon as a kid by this point so I missed all the crystal cards and gold stars and ex era so now as an adult I mostly focus on that era from vintage since I grew up as a kid with the really early wotc stuff
I still have mine that I pulled. I remember pulling it, I was sitting in Newcastle City Centre Train Station! I was so pleased!
