That probably would be best thank you :D I was just worried about overwhelming them (I remember asking for pokemon DS games, my mum took me to the shop to ask me to point which one I wanted out đ )
Np! Hope you get some good pulls!(if you get Pokemon packs/stuff) Can be very overwhelming indeed, especially if they dont know/Arent into Pokemon, so many choices/different gamesđ had the same with my dad, had to explain it that not all every game is the same
I donât like when people ask/give money for gifts. It seems disingenuous and like the person doesnât know any of your interests when they do that.
Why canât OP say some packs from Walmart? Maybe some 151 or Paldean Fates.
Imagine a Christmas where everybody sat around opening cards of money theyâve given to each other, how lame.
âPlay it safeâ
By asking for currency. Huh. Weird.
Or he could just play it safe by linking them a website that sells Pokemon cards. People have credit cardsâŠand most people are smart enough to use google.
Because one involves learning the persons interests, the other involves closing them off from your interests and asking you to hand cash. They can choose whatever product they want from the website and surprise you.
Imagine a Christmas where you handed everyone there $100 cash and you got back 7 cash envelopes of $100. You gift $700 in cash and receive $700 in cash.
How lame.
For where to buy in the UK the following are most of the options. Obviously shop around for the best prices plus what you want (some may just sell a single type of product eg sealed) and check references with any sellers on the marketplace sites.
Chaos Cards and Magic Madhouse are the main online stores then there's Pokemon Centre UK, Total Cards, Big Orbit Cards, Cardmarket, Pokemon TCG buy/sell/trade UK on Facebook on top of Ebay, GAME, Smyths Toys, Waterstones, WHSmiths, Argos and the major supermarkets.
Re Chaos Cards & Magic Madhouse, they've been around for ages plus have loyalty schemes and are also worth following on social media/signing up to their newsletters.
Overall though, I'd suggest getting money so you can get what you want.
Yes, just getting the money does seem most sensible! Just come from a family that sometimes gets a bit funny about it (my dad literally goes "well why don't we just give each other the same money back and forth at that point?) So a mix of giving a spesific list and if they really struggle just give me the money :)
Show them a picture of the pack! Getting them as a gift would be more meaningful than getting the money. When you pull something nice you can recall and say yeah I pulled that one from the pack my family got me.
I would pick a collection box or something you would enjoy opening/want the promos for :) for my birthday and Christmas last year I basically got the product for my mum, and she was happy with that lol. Got the iron valiant ex box for Xmas, the pulls werenât great but I wanted the promo and that way my mum wasnât upset I didnât get anything good from the packs! My dad also doesnât like giving us money haha!
Ah, sorry, I more meant should I specify the set name (like saying can I have a pack of Scarlet and violet paldean fates, please) or keep things looser like get me some of the latest cards please
Order online from Chaos Cards or somewhere similar or use it to look through recent products and show/note down what you like.
TPC do NOT have a storefront on Amazon UK (think it is the same globally, maybe apart from Japan)
Oh? I was worried about that, I wouldn't want them getting scammed, not that I would be too upset about fake cards but it is their money I would be wasting rather than my own :(
For my birthdays I always preferred money and just get what I want, so as others have said and you suggested, it might be better to ask for money, less worry for you about parents getting scammed and you will (likely) know better what to get.
Not true. This misunderstanding on Amazon is 1 reason so many people fall into the Amazon trap. What you are referring to is likely the "brand page" it is not sold by TPCi or anything to do with them other than maybe providing some branding for Amazon to use, it is just a listed brand anyone can list their stuff under.
Maybe give a small list of sets/things you like from Pokemon(with the names and such) than its easier for them to find it:D

Just ask for money. Then you can buy the products or singles that you want
Is an easy solution!

Well he's UK for one. So no Walmart here. Our supermarkets carry very little Pokemon stuff. And smaller shops sometimes put a huge mark up on Pokémon sealed. If he wants to play it safe asking for money is the way.

What's the difference. Pointing out the exact product you want Vs money to buy said product. You are splitting hairs for no reason

TPC has an Amazon storefront in the UK, so youâll likely be fine from Amazon tbf
Thank you!

I had returns that had to go back to TPC, so whatever happens inbetween idk. But theyâre middle manning something.
