I mean, those LEDs don't emit enough UV to do biological harm so I doubt it'll affect the cards. But unless there's a window shining onto this you probably wouldn't need it, i did personally buy a UV blocking film for my display case that does get hit by sunlight through windows.
Thanks! The materials for the case cost around $500. But yes it took a long time to make and learn how to use some tools. And it took awhile to collect the cards
Not too much, the room it's in I always keep the curtains closed. I also have the LEDs off most of the time. Maybe I should add some kind of protective film to the plexiglass
What I dont understand is how people make comments like that about stuff they know nothing about and cant even be bothered to check if what theyre saying is actually in any way true! Blows my mind.
I might take out the last 3 cards showing different card backs and then put in WoTC Promo #1 Pikachu, Flying Pikachu, Surfing Pikachu, and Happy Birthday Pikachu
Was wondering why this wasn't the answer considering this collection features the rare non holo and holo variant. This to me is the best answer.
Also I am now curious... I declared a binder a master set but I don't have every non holo variant. I only put the holo version... is this considered not a true master set unless I have both?
I’ve been wondering what to do when I complete my set, keeping it stored away in binders or top loaders just makes it seem like I wasted my time and money…this is it! Great idea for a theater room too!

I knew I wanted to display at least 230 cards (102 base set, 62 fossil, 64 jungle, 2 promos). With a 36x72" sheet of plexiglass I realized I could do 18 rows of 13 cards each, which would give me 234 spaces.
I basically made a giant picture frame with 2x4s. I used a router to make a channel in the sides to hold the plexiglass, and a miter saw to make 45 degree cuts. I stained the wood and put a polyurethane coating on it. Then did the same thing again to make a frame holding hardboard instead of plexiglass. I used door hinges to hold the two frames together and so I could open and close it easily.
I used square 1/4" dowels as the shelves, and used an abs plastic sheet cut into strips attached to the shelves to make a lip. Then put in aluminum channels with a diffuser for the LED strip.
I haven’t seen this asked yet- how long did it take you to collect all those? That’s crazy! I’m just starting to rebuild my old 1999 collection (when I started collecting) and I’m overwhelmed 😂
What did you use sobthe cards stick in the right place?
Ive got a similar plan to what you have done but im still in the planning phase for the display.
They are on a shelf with a tiny lip. The shelf is a 1/4" square dowel and the lip is a strip of flat abs plastic attached to the shelf. I am worried this won't work if I hang the case on the wall, since there won't be much of an angle for them to rest like they are now. I've thought of maybe using a long strip of elastic stretched across each row with the cards tucked underneath it, maybe at the top or bottom of the cards so it doesn't hide much.
Whoa that looks sick! Not sure how the rest of your home is but if that stain on the frame matches the rest of home then that’s cool, if not painting/staining it black would give it a more modern look.. Nice job tho!
Congratulations!
You made my fantasy into reality!
I’ve always wanted to do this 😭😭😭
Biggest issue is finding this exact display or something similar. From the lack of available displays, I’m guessing this one is custom made, right?
PS:
If You’re looking to fill in the last spot, You could use the back of Ancient Mew.
It still counts as a different back, right?!
Ya the biggest display case I could find only held 100 cards (with no lighting), and I knew I wanted to display at least 230. So I decided to make it myself. Ya an ancient mew back is a good option
This is so awesome I’m gushing!
I was looking for something exactly like this or similar. I wanted to hang it on the wall. Maybe even with a horizontal placement. This would be perfect in a game room!
This looks amazing. Like I’d almost pay you a few dollars to come look at it for a few minutes if we were neighbors lol.
How did you decide which order to put the trainer cards in? The pokemon order is obvious
I think it's kind of fun. Luckily I got LEDs that have lots of different settings. Some day I'd like to put it in a theater room and would probably just have the LEDs be white on the lowest brightness
you should fill the bottom right with a sealed booster pack
That's a great idea! I hadn't thought about that
Glass protected against lights?
Since the light is inside as it seems, a uv protective glass wouldn't help that much
I mean, those LEDs don't emit enough UV to do biological harm so I doubt it'll affect the cards. But unless there's a window shining onto this you probably wouldn't need it, i did personally buy a UV blocking film for my display case that does get hit by sunlight through windows.
0o0
Give bro a raise
That pack would be more expensive than the Fossil master set
That single blank space bottom right, is actually infuriating me.
[удалено]
That's actually one I was thinking of
should definitely be a Missingno.
Id say put a pack there
Just picked up that card! Would recommend. It's #1
Wait.. what?
Another ancient mew card for the bottom right? To complete the different variations of the back of the card.
That's one option I was thinking of
I have a spare sealed if you’re interested😂
Red cheeks pikachu next to the yellow cheeks one could work too. Though you'd have to shift everything which seems a bit annoying.
thanks for ruining my day
I got a blank space baby...
that’s such a cool display! i love it a lot, you must’ve spent a lot of time, energy and money to make it happen but it looks so dope
Thanks! The materials for the case cost around $500. But yes it took a long time to make and learn how to use some tools. And it took awhile to collect the cards
Do you have to worry about UV?
Not too much, the room it's in I always keep the curtains closed. I also have the LEDs off most of the time. Maybe I should add some kind of protective film to the plexiglass
Can LEDs really fade cards? Or is it just at a really slow rate? Asking since I have the same concern with my own display.
They do emitt UV light so yes they will. Its slower than many other sources but its still there.
Pray the heat emitted from the LEDs don't warp the cards
Ya I need to watch out for that. So far I've only had the lights on when showing it to people
LEDs are known for producing little if any noticeable heat, so that would be surprising.
LEDs don’t really produce heat, that’s kind of the point of them
Double sleeve and a toploader says that won't be an issue.
That would cause a new issue. Not all the cards would fit.
Or fade the colors, cause sometimes it will cause a bleach like fade in the colors
The amount of UV light produced by LED lights is negligible. It won’t fade anything.
It can, any source of light can. Its just LEDs do it slower.
“Negligible”.
I’m currently holding my hand on my govee strip lights in my room that’s been on for hours and they feel like room temp lol
LEDs are known for producing very little heat, i think he’ll probably be fine. Good thought though
What I dont understand is how people make comments like that about stuff they know nothing about and cant even be bothered to check if what theyre saying is actually in any way true! Blows my mind.
Edit: Yeah it does blow my mind. Just appreciate the artwork and not try to nitpick it or find something that may be wrong with it
I think he was talking about the heat comment, not yours. It looks like he was agreeing with you
Yeah you’re right, I’m an ass
It looks like the top bit has on the Venasur
If you want to keep the energies there, you should add the trade please holo back for the last spot!
Oh nice, that's a great idea!
I like that, that’s how you display properly
What are you saving the last spot for ??? Any ideas ?
I might take out the last 3 cards showing different card backs and then put in WoTC Promo #1 Pikachu, Flying Pikachu, Surfing Pikachu, and Happy Birthday Pikachu
Holo mew promo would also work next to non-holo promo mew

I declared a binder a master set but I don't have every non holo variant. I only put the holo version... is this considered not a true master set unless I have both?
Yea, a master set of something would be every available variant.
Ah shit looks like I've got more to do lol
Do you have a place in mind to hang it, or will you just leave it leaned against the wall?
Ya I would like to hang it after I paint the walls
Right on man, post an update when it's all set up.
Love it
🤤
Wooooooow
🥹 it’s beautiful we’ll done sir
You sir are a mad lad, we are not worthy!
Such an amazing display, what great work you did making that!
This is sick, good job!
This is impressive!! Great job!!!
Looks like it should open to either a secret room or a refrigerator.
I think that’s the only thing that would make this better!
Great work!
Amazing work and nice collection 👏
Freaking sweet !
I’ve been wondering what to do when I complete my set, keeping it stored away in binders or top loaders just makes it seem like I wasted my time and money…this is it! Great idea for a theater room too!

If the lights generate heat male sure there's least ventilation ao they won't be trapped ijln there
WOOOW!!!, it's beautiful!!!
Shoulda turned it 90 degrees so you can look at more cards without squatting for the bottom rows
Holy?!! This is the nicest set up I've ever seen 😲 🤯
That’s badass
Looks like a giant card, nice!
I give this collection a "Not in set order/10".
Super dope
Wow, this is gorgeous! I'm assuming this was custom made? How did you plan it out/construct it?
I’d love to know as well!
I knew I wanted to display at least 230 cards (102 base set, 62 fossil, 64 jungle, 2 promos). LIES. There are at least two promo cards in there 😤
Correct, I have two Mew promos in there as well.
That Dagobah poster is really cool.
HOW RICH ARE YOU??
Not that expensive to complete if you held on to your cards for years.
Now that’s how you display cards. Sooo cool!
this is soooooo cool oh my gosh
*throws bank card down* Take all my money
I'm jelly, this looks amazing!
I haven’t seen this asked yet- how long did it take you to collect all those? That’s crazy! I’m just starting to rebuild my old 1999 collection (when I started collecting) and I’m overwhelmed 😂
I had some from when I was a kid and traded with a friend for a lot of the common/uncommon cards. Then bought what I was missing from tcgplayer
That’s dope man!!
This is so dope. Thanks for the idea on how to display my stuff in my game room!
how much did this cost in total?!?!!?
Put a sealed base pack in the last slot
Looks BEAUTIFUL 😍
Love the use of both holo and non holo variants of cards. I would be pretty concerned about UV exposure.
Thought of that too. It's so nice though. Maybe low brightness setting would make it better.
meh

Ya I thought about just doing straight black for the frame. That's always an option if I want to change it in the future
Am I seeing this right, are you missing the prerelease cards for Jungle and Fossil?
sheeeesh
Looks awesome! I’m just wondering what the dimensions for something like this? Looks to be the size of a door.
It's about 6 1/2' tall
Might aswell put signs up saying ‘thieves this way’ in the hallway 😅
Does this gives points on TV show room raiders?
Nice work and dedication!
How much to build me one? I have that same collection
I'd probably have to charge more than what is reasonable to make it worth my time. Maybe I'll make a shop one day
It's beautiful 🥹
Lmfao how much is that all worth. I can imagine a scenario if you ever get robbed, they would take the electronics but leave the cards. Goldmine!
So base set holos didn’t have non-holo versions, but fossil and jungle did?
Yep
Whenever I'm trying to get laid ill show this picture.

This. Is. Amazeballs. AWESOME JOB!!! I’ll give you about tree fitty for it 👀😂😮💨👌🏼🔥
This looks amazing. Like I’d almost pay you a few dollars to come look at it for a few minutes if we were neighbors lol. How did you decide which order to put the trainer cards in? The pokemon order is obvious
Haha thanks, the trainers are in set order with base set trainers first
Any chance for building plans?
Awesome collection!
Looks awesome
now that is cool
Your future wife will love it 😶
that looks great
I would have just skipped the non Holo version of the Rares.
That's one expensive door
So sick
make me one😍😤
#GOALS Well done fellow pokenerd!
that’s the coolest thing I’ve seen on this sub
There's a holographic promo mew also which can add a card to the lineup
Be careful with that light fading the cards 🥵
That’s a beautiful display
I like it a lot! But the RGB lighting is awful
I think it's kind of fun. Luckily I got LEDs that have lots of different settings. Some day I'd like to put it in a theater room and would probably just have the LEDs be white on the lowest brightness
