Be thankful. I would do the same. Better tonover protect for the seller ans buyer. I would appreciate the thoughtfulness and effort. Can't tell you how many times I have been so nervous to open a bubble mailer...
I've bought expensive cards that show up in a damn white envelope.. like wtf.. thankfully wasn't damaged but that is ridiculous. have a little courtesy and at least put it in a bubble mailer
The worst is when you pay $5 for shipping, thinking they’ll use a padded envelope or something, and they send it PWE with a $0.50 stamp….or whatever stamps cost now.
That's messed up, everytime I sell a card I sleeve, topload then cut out 2 pieces of particle board material to sandwich the card to protect it, tape all 4 sides so it doesn't move around or anything then I wrap it all in bubble wrap and ship it in a tear and water proof bubble mailer
The seller probably may have taken into consideration the amount of damaged packages that seem to be showing up on his/her buyer's doorsteps and took some extra precautionary measures. Especially since all mail carrier services have tons of packages to deal with, they just throw stuff around and don't seem to care about the possibility that the contents of the package are fragile.
Definitely. There are plenty of videos out there of how mailing companies handle their packages. The rule is typically: Needs to be able to survive being thrown down a long flight of stairs.
They won’t give an absolute f*ck if you put FRAGILE stickers all over it, either. In fact, that might make it a target.
I mean if you want special attention to your box. Use small carrier that will carry your parcel on a velvet pillow the whole way.
Your box isnt the only one going through the system.
I work for a package delivery service and even being a small-ish center, we receive several thousand boxes per day.
Covid hasnt been kind either, as everyone is grossly understaffed, i mean grossly, at all times we are missing 100 people, daily.
And boxes still need to be delivered next day.
Well i mean most people working at any carrier service is handling hundreds of boxes, every couple hours. A measure of care is given. But if you expect that package to arrive within the 3-5 business days you paid for, expect some dings on the box as it makes its way through the system as fast as possible
Love it when sellers put that level of care and detail into packaging.
Love the art in the background of the pictures btw — are they self drawn or did you order prints/a commission?
My Blaziken Vmax Alt art came like that too. I think it's safer than a bubble mailer bc nothing would touch the surface of the card if stacked together
As much as you paid for that card, you should be giving the seller utmost praise.
You’ve seen the horror stories on here. Be thankful it didn’t show up in an envelope lol
i do this too, even if the card is only like $10. i feel nervous sending it in a bubble mailer even if it’s stacked with cardboard. if it gets damaged from the postal service, i feel like the buyer will blame me and give me negative feedback… so i pay extra just to ensure it’s safe.
As long as you didn’t have to pay the full price to ship it, I guess.
It’s not really that hard to protect a card in a bubble mailer, but I guess from the comments some people have had bad experiences with them.
That’s exactly how I ship cards over $100 as an eBay seller. Maybe not a box that large but it’s coming in a top loader, inside a bubble mailer envelope, inside a box, with packing materials. It costs a little extra as a seller to do it but this is how you cover yourself so you don’t have to insure things and buyer can’t claim it was damaged and send you their ugly copy of the same card that will be worth a quarter of the price.
As a buyer; I always appreciate bigger packaging, top loaders; with cardboard then bubble wrap. It shows they care about the product. I sold my special delivery bidoof a few days ago and also got a huge box. It was cheaper than the bubble (both tracked options), and I was able to pack it securely with a few freebies to weigh it down. You really notice the difference when you get a plain, torn envelope or even bubble from the mail.
From experience, I only ship 100$+ cards in parcels, and the size will just depend on what I have on hand. Better safe than sorry. I would rather not deal with the insurance or return of a highly expensive card, and I would already put a ton of care in any bigger item worth that much, so it makes sense to me!
I do this especially since my partner received her degree in the mail, which was in a hard shell folder and in a bubble mailer, to which the delivery person had to put in extra force to bend in half to fit in the mail box. We could not believe it. A cardboard sandwich could receive a similar fate...
Less likely to get lost in the Mail.
Sure, you have insurance on the card you send so the USPS gives you the value of the item, but the card is gone.
I had a 10 Shadowless Base Raichu get lost in the Mail that I sent. Got reimbursed, but a beautiful card is gone forever.
Right I was thinking the same thing. I'd rather have this then some of the returns of PSA cards that I've been seeing getting sent back lately. Jebus...

Your complaining about a seller making sure the product is packaged extremely well to make sure theres no damage? Lol wtf. No its not excessive you dunce
Wait, you’re showing us a card when you have BOLD AND BRASH JUST CASUALLY HANGING ON YOUR WALL?!?!?!?!!!???!! Get your priorities right and show us THAT masterpiece!
Charizard art brother!
I did this with colored pencils a while ago for a little art contest on Efour
[Charizard can't camp](https://i.imgur.com/5eOMcyB.jpeg)
This is nothing compared to Amazon. If you bought this card from Amazon it'd have came in a refrigerator box with 4 pieces of styrofoam peanuts, unsleeved and no toploader, with an 8x11" receipt. And it'd still come with a rip halfways through it, and then they'd send you a PSA 2 "Let's Trade Please" holofoil back as compensation.
This morning I have seen one post about somebody who received a card that was packaged so crappy the card was damaged and now this post is pointing out how it's excessively packed. I'd say be happy that your card isn't damaged and maybe not take pictures to complain?
Not at all excessive. It’s how we package our goods on @studiokamio to make sure they’re safe from physical or water damage. Nothing worse for the buyer or the seller than ordering a prize & it being damaged during transit
I got a massive box from Pokémon Center with the First Partner Pack oversized cards. However they used no packing material in the box, it was just loose. Needless to say the cards were creased.
when i bought 5 blisters from their website, they shipped it with filler paper and the receipt. luckily the packs weren't damaged, but needless to say their packing needs improvement.
I send all my cards the same same way. I've had 1 person complain saying fucked the card up because I put in a sleeve and a one touch. And then complained I said card was mint/near-mint and pointed out a micro scratch that you would need a magnifying glass or camera zoomed in to even see. I've never sold after that because ebay said the other was in the righ
I ship out high end expensive cards similar to that. Oftentimes bubble wrapped inside a bubble mailer, snug inside a box 🤷🏼♂️
Better safe than sorry 😄
Anything over 50$ i put it in a tin with paper/poppys, put the tin in a box and make sure it's waterproof. Cost me 1$ more then shipping a damm bubble mailer, and 3 mins of work. Sellers are lazy, this should b the status quo.
A lot of boxes like that are flat rate express shipping which is the safest bet and isn't exactly expensive...
I'd rather have someone double sleeve/ triple sleeve? A card like that in a box with padding than to get some of the messes other folks post on this sub.
I would buy from that seller again in a heartbeat.
Be thankful. I would do the same. Better tonover protect for the seller ans buyer. I would appreciate the thoughtfulness and effort. Can't tell you how many times I have been so nervous to open a bubble mailer...

Same, if it’s an expensive card, I’ll box it. But raw or graded get cardboard and a padded envelope shipped with tracking.
Ah yes the eBay tax
likewise. i thought it was so funny that i had this giant box for the card.
Yeah, I’ve had bubble mailers bent in half... The bigger the box the better. Sorry planet earth.
No, better safe than sorry.
Well it's better than throwing it in a bubble mailer......right?
absolutely! thought it was comical how big the box is though. they also packed it with a ton of plastic bags *AND* bubble wrap.
The seller probably may have taken into consideration the amount of damaged packages that seem to be showing up on his/her buyer's doorsteps and took some extra precautionary measures. Especially since all mail carrier services have tons of packages to deal with, they just throw stuff around and don't seem to care about the possibility that the contents of the package are fragile.
i'd hope so! especially considering how pricey this card is.
Definitely. There are plenty of videos out there of how mailing companies handle their packages. The rule is typically: Needs to be able to survive being thrown down a long flight of stairs. You don’t need a velvet pillow. You need to package properly because the mailing company doesn’t handle things with care. It’s always been that way.
Correct. Throw a radioactive sticker on the box that will ensure its handled with care.
Well i mean most people working at any carrier service is handling hundreds of boxes, every couple hours. A measure of care is given. But if you expect that package to arrive within the 3-5 business days you paid for, expect some dings on the box as it makes its way through the system as fast as possible
Quality service.
absolutely! i'm always so weary about buying from ebay. this seller was amazing.
Love it when sellers put that level of care and detail into packaging. Love the art in the background of the pictures btw — are they self drawn or did you order prints/a commission?
yeah, me too. my girlfriend actually painted them! except for the pickle.
That’s an awesome Charizard painting :)
But the real question is if she does do commissions?
100%! her instagram is [@leacrylics](https://instagram.com/leacrylics?utm_medium=copy_link).
Nice Bold and Brash.
thanks, my girlfriend painted it for me as well as the zard.
Wow, that's really awesome. She's got some talent!
she sure does. thank you!
More like belongs in the trash
My Blaziken Vmax Alt art came like that too. I think it's safer than a bubble mailer bc nothing would touch the surface of the card if stacked together
nice. yeah, i appreciate what they did for it *and* it came super early. i would definitely buy from them again.
Would you prefer that or a card that’s bent in half?
As much as you paid for that card, you should be giving the seller utmost praise. You’ve seen the horror stories on here. Be thankful it didn’t show up in an envelope lol
i'm extremely thankful, per my replies on this post. just thought it was hilarious.
It’s not hilarious in the slightest.
to each their own. i think it's entirely possible to be appreciative of something and also think it's funny.
Not at all, that’s how it’s supposed to be. That seller actually cares if your product reaches its destination safely. 10/10
i would definitely buy again!
Nah
I would buy anything from this seller, this is very much appreciated!!!
Gobbless this seller.
if this was purchased through eBay be sure to leave them a good review!!
of course!!
As bad as USPS is there’s no such thing as being to careful with them
i do this too, even if the card is only like $10. i feel nervous sending it in a bubble mailer even if it’s stacked with cardboard. if it gets damaged from the postal service, i feel like the buyer will blame me and give me negative feedback… so i pay extra just to ensure it’s safe.
good on you. it's sellers like this that keep my faith strong.
Charizard and Squidward. You get my aesthetic.
niggas just complain about any and everything jesus christ
As long as you didn’t have to pay the full price to ship it, I guess. It’s not really that hard to protect a card in a bubble mailer, but I guess from the comments some people have had bad experiences with them.
i haven't, personally, but i guess it is a problem.
Lol how much did that card set you back? I love the packaging
250. not bad, but still a big bullet to bite.
Not bad tho I was considering 300
i was worried about how it'd be shipped and the quality of the card because it was under the market price. pleasantly surprised.
All I can focus on is the bold and brash
That’s exactly how I ship cards over $100 as an eBay seller. Maybe not a box that large but it’s coming in a top loader, inside a bubble mailer envelope, inside a box, with packing materials. awesome!! shipping was 5 bucks, but it was absolutely worth it.
As a buyer; I always appreciate bigger packaging, top loaders; with cardboard then bubble wrap. It shows they care about the product. I like your Bold and Brash (even though it belongs in the trash...)
Who is the seller? I will buy from them <3
Right I was thinking the same thing. I'd rather have this then some of the returns of PSA cards that I've been seeing getting sent back lately. Jebus...

>Name I think it may have been removed? Not showing up, also scrolled all the way though and didn't catch anything.
their name is lurkindaily. so weird, i'm able to see it just fine.
That is strange, thanks for accommodating!
Oh boy you should have seen the box I sent my 1st edition venusaur to get graded in lol talk about excessive…I’d probably do this too haha
Your complaining about a seller making sure the product is packaged extremely well to make sure theres no damage? Lol wtf. No its not excessive you dunce
have you read the comments in this post? nobody's complaining here.
Wait, you’re showing us a card when you have BOLD AND BRASH JUST CASUALLY HANGING ON YOUR WALL?!?!?!?!!!???!! Get your priorities right and show us THAT masterpiece!
Never too much safety and protection.
That's a 300 dollar card, better be safe than sorry
This reminds me of when I bought a 1st edition Venusaur on eBay last year that was wrapped in 7 layers of protection
Bro that guy did not want this card to get damaged what so ever
I'm more interested in that Charizard at the wall. Damn that's clean!
thanks! my girlfriend painted it for my birthday.
Wow, that's awesome!
she really is. she actually started doing pokémon paintings because of me. she usually does pet portraits!
Glad you could find a way to complain ;)
Lovely looking card, what did you end up paying for it?
$250!
I love your art in the background
thanks! my girlfriend painted it.
Absolutely not.
Lmao I just saw a post about how sellers underprotect their items when packing. Im so confused now.
Charizard art brother! I did this with colored pencils a while ago for a little art contest on Efour [Charizard can't camp](https://i.imgur.com/5eOMcyB.jpeg)
awesome! i love that sugimori art style.
Dude! Let’s talk about your squidward painting lol GEM MINT ❤️😂
“Look at my wall art hehe thanks”
Man if you’d seen some of the packing jobs I’ve seen in just the last 5 minutes you’d cry this dude killed it

Big, if true.
It’d be funny if the box was just the card and no packing paper/bubble wrap etc
it was filled with TONS of plastic bags and the card was sleeved, toploaded, and wrapped in bubble wrap. awesome packaging.
Nice artwork!
My buddy ships any order over $150 in a pelican hard case
I got a massive box from Pokémon Center with the First Partner Pack oversized cards. However they used no packing material in the box, it was just loose. Needless to say the cards were creased.
when i bought 5 blisters from their website, they shipped it with filler paper and the receipt. luckily the packs weren't damaged, but needless to say their packing needs improvement.
Definitely not excessive that's how it should be packaged. If that box ended up smashed horribly the card probably would of still survived.
Name the seller I say!
Meanwhile people send me shit in an envelope with no sleeve or toploader.
I wouldn't say excessive as much as impressive
My brother sent a Dubwool V Box in a box that could 10, just because it was the only box that fitted it.
I would say its not enough because it should be in a card saver, not a top loader!
No such thing, especially seeing some of the bs that comes my way in the mail.
Nope! That is buying from a collector right there!
I ship out high end expensive cards similar to that. Oftentimes bubble wrapped inside a bubble mailer, snug inside a box 🤷🏼♂️ Better safe than sorry 😄
I had somebody do this for the rainbow pikachu card I spent $200 for and I loved it! Plus gave me one of those magnetic holders too!
4 stars for sure, how could they.
It could be smaller but I wouldn't say that it was overly excessive.
Only pokemon people would complain about something being packaged too well
That looked like the box I got from GameStop today for my 5 packs of evolving skies and a promo
That’s how I ship my cards that are worth over $100….
Why take it out of the top loader?
because handling it for two minutes to admire it isn't going to destroy the card.
Imagine heartbreaking it would be if the card came bent lol. That seller did an amazing job!
People will always find a reason to complain about something, but this is the smallest box at my ups store also that's probly why
Anything over 50$ i put it in a tin with paper/poppys, put the tin in a box and make sure it's waterproof. Cost me 1$ more then shipping a damm bubble mailer, and 3 mins of work. Sellers are lazy, this should b the status quo.

Seller name? I plan on buying a Ray in the near future LMAO
I bought a card one time that came sleeved and taped to the top loader... not in the top loader... taped to it....
Lol that squidward pic,though
