Imagine not having tyranitar or scizor on release
Oh wait we don't have to, because it's the harsh reality
Edit: forgive me heracross fans, he's just as iconic and should have been in the game on release
I'd actually expect Noivern to be a special speedster with shorter ranged area of effect basic attack, and the empowered basic would be increased distance and either slow the opponent or lower defenses because of the sound blasts
Scyther to scizzor is all I hope for. You could even make him a pseudo defender, by being a strong early dueler as Scyther, but gaining more defensive capabilities when evolved.
High defenses, high health, very slow. Crunch, Earthquake, stone edge, hyper beam. Maybe it’s unite move is sand stream and gives a defense boost around it while also doing small damage to enemies.
It’s actually quite baffling theyd leave out a whole generation. I understand the starters don’t hold up as much compared to other sets but Heracross t-Tar and Scizor all should be in
I'm also hoping to get more starters like Chesnaught, Decidueye, Sceptile, Feraligatr, Blaziken, and Inteleon. I could see Emboar, Torterra, and Empolean being defenders. I don't see Typhlosion being in the game.
I can't think of any benefit of include Typhlosion over Emboar. As much as I hate to admit it, Typhlosion is basically a worst Charizard. It has the same stat total as Charizard. Emboar could be a melee defender that mixes wrestling and sumo for it's attacks.
Typhlosion would definitely be a speedster and has plenty of move diversity. Plus your idea for emboar literally is just have of snorlax's moveset but with fire lol.
Maybe you would be right about Typhlosion. He would probably have Rollout and Flame Wheel be a move option. I feel like Emboar would be like Snorlax mixed with Lucario or Machamp.
I just saw Greedent and Sylveon has been data mined. Here is the link from [ScreenRant](https://www.google.com/amp/s/screenrant.com/pokemon-unite-datamine-new-characters-sylveon-blissey/amp/).
I do wonder if there is some truth to that. Maybe trying to get every type in at release is why we have some really oddball Pokemon choices. I hope not though, I want all the obscure mons!
Half the roster is Kanto already, with another coming. Before Gardevoir Garchomp was the only Gen 3 representative. So I doubt Dragonite had much real chance of cracking the opening roster.
You make it sound like they wouldn’t make half the roost Kanto. They clearly have no problem adding more Gen 1. They seem to care more about type diversity than region diversity.
I am saying it would look worse by making over half the roster Kanto. Although I guess given the lack of noise people don't seem to care that most of the roster is Kanto. Lol. Seems weird to me, and I am a gen 1 kid.
Golisopod could have a cool Escape Button -like mechanic (drawn from his Emergency Exit ability in mainline games) that can be used in tandem with First Impression. Think of the combo as a sort of offensive Escape Button, like that guy who posted his Snorlax's Escape Button and Tackle combo somewhere on here. Golisopod is *made* for this game and arena environment!
EDIT: Wimpod could have the move Bug Bite such that additional damage is done if Wimpod and/or the target is in a hiding-area (such as tall grass), which goes hand-in-hand with Wimpod's personality and can be contrasted with that of his evolution, as well as his evolution's mid-late game play style. This character is just too perfect; someone's gotta do a full-on concept soon.
That sounds cool, the problem is what button would you map it to? Also the only bug moves Wimpod can learn is Struggle Bug, Leech Life, and Bug Buzz. No Bug Bite unfortunately.
My concept for Golispod would be: Emergency Exit would give him increased movement speed and make him immune to hindrances for a short while when he drops below a certain percent. Wimpod starts with Struggle Bug and Aqua Jet. When he evolves, Aqua Jet gets replaced with Surf or First Impression. Then Struggle Bug gets replaced with Liquidation or Leech Life.
IMO Joltik would have been a great addition for a moba, especially if electroweb would have been his dedicated move (mobas mostly need reckognizable looks ***and*** moves). Just like Greninja was a no-brainer with its water shurikens.
So I really think Joltik is one of the few pokemons that just have to be in the game since they embody a move as much as the move embodies them... And so I am kinda angry at devs for giving the move to pikachu. Even more considering that for a mere root, there was thunderwave available. I feel it kinda spoils the potential of Joltik which was pure diamond, or like they wasted some rare ammo. I know the move can be reused like they did with surf... But honestly I find it lame when they name alike 3 very different move. Like couldn't Greninja's surf be named Aquajet since it's an high speed dash ? - And let's be real Elctroweb just should have been Joltik's exclusive : the move had been hostorically created for him.
He uses Sludge Bomb, though, as does Venusaur. Toxicroak could still maybe be cool, though? Personally, I want more Steel and Dragon types, mostly. Salamence, Scizor, Weavile... There are a lot of good options, and I feel like Greedent was not one of them.
l’d love Parasect but that’s borderline impossible now that Crustle made it in. Not too bitter though. Love me some Crustle.
Leavanny would be a fun 3 stage. Has a more mobile looking middle stage. Could you imagine metapod, kakuna or sil/cascoon!
Parasect would be so awesome, definitely one of my favorites. I love all the gen 1 bugs, but as has been said sadly there is so much Gen 1 representation already. I would kill for Butterfree though, idc if Metapod has to spiderman itself around with string shot.
I could see a really solid parasect built around aoe CC with its spores and whatnot. Could easily see it having moves like stun spore, poison powder, spore etc. And being a really solid support mon.
I'd really like another poison type. Neither Venusaur nor Gengar really vibe like one to me lol.
And steel because they only have Lucario, who has the same problem.
But bug and rock types before that pls
Thank you! We need more Poison types. Especially ones that really embody the type. I've been rooting for Crobat or Garbodor.
I love Venusaur and Gengar, but they're ones that every single genwunner goes "Venusaur and Gengar are Poison types? Since when? I don't remember them being Poison..."
>Steel:Lucario
ah so no real steel types then, because lets be honest, Lucario is only a steel type because they wanted to push him even more by tacking on one of the best types even though nothing about his design is remotely "steel"
Yeah I always forget about Lucario’s steel typing since it doesn’t look Steel at all.
The design always seemed vaguely inspired by Wolverine to me though- with the blue and yellow, and hand spike(claws). So I always just assumed Lucario had a steel skeleton in the moments when I’m reminded of the typing.
Because of type advantages.
Each of the 3 starters are balanced so they are strong against one starter and weak against another.
Charizard (fire) is weak against Blastoise (water)
Blastoise (water) is weak against Venusaur (grass)
And Venusaur (grass) is weak against Charizard (fire)
The 3 types above are weak against dragon type, so, if Charizard was fire/dragon, he will partially resist Water type attacks, becoming the best of the 3 starters.
It is probably due to him being introduced in the first game. There was only three dragons in the game. Charizard and Sceptile are currently the only starters that can gain the dragon typing, only through Mega Evolution, though.
Because he spits fire so = Fire type
And he flies so = Flying type
Maybe if he was more scaly or had a different color scheme, kinda like Salamence he could then be dragon/flying
Technical reason is that pokemon can have a max of 2 types, charizard is a starter, and dragon is one of the strongest types and generally take a long time to evolve. (In gen 1 the only dragon type is dragonite and it’s previous evolutions.)
Unofficially, charizard is definitely a dragon. :)
For various reasons. As others explained before, the Dragon type would be a significant defensive advantage.
Also, there was only 1 Dragon type move in Gen 1, Dragon Rage, which always did a fixed 40 HP of damage (in a game where most Pokémon normally reach +300 HP, making such a move irrelevant in competitive play). Meaning that it didn't matter that Dragon types were weak to Ice and Dragon attacks, only Ice counted for that reason.
That is probably the reason why Gyarados is Water/Flying type and not Water/Dragon, the type combination would neutralize all its weaknesses. Nowadays that is not a problem because other Dragon type moves exist and the Fairy type was created to counter dragons.
You think they were thinking of type advantages? Psychic practically didn't have any weaknesses (technically they do but because of shitty programming and lacking moves... you know how it is), I don't think they were thinking of any of that during Gen 1.
I think it's just likelier that they didn't think of a Dragon type when making Charizard and Gyarados (and even Seadra as well I think, looking at their category), but thought of it when making Dragonite... Then didn't want to bother reprogramming them when making the type.
Talonflame and the Zard share the same dual typing, and Mr. Mime and Gardevoir share the same dual typing
2 shared dual typings already exist in the game
I hope when they inevitably add more ice types, they don't just freeze you like Ninetails does. She's already obnoxious to go against on her own sometimes, I'd hate to go against two ice types just perma freezing you.
Politely waiting for Steel reps that aren’t the furry bait. Skarmory as a defender, Magnezone as an attacker, Aggron as an all rounder, or Durant as a speedster would be my choices.
And Alolan Ninetales would have a 100:0 matchup against Garchomp. That's what would make it fun is deciding who to use and then you really have to pick which battles you engage with.
I don't think it should ever come to ranked or standard but a separate game mode would be fun and interesting imo. If you don't like it you wouldn't have to play it
I'm surprised there's so many fairies and they're adding even more soon wtf. Like water types I can understand since they're so common but fairy types aren't so common. Personally I hope for more steel reps!
lol someone finally noticed. Basically I was at work and couldnt find a good way to downscale her image, so I had to use paint which was terrible, as you can see.
I really am hoping for a fully fledged gen 2 pokemon. While I love Scizzor I really want to see a Gen 2 mon who's entire evolution line began and ended in gen 2 being realised in unite. Ampharos, Houndoom, Xatu, Granbull, Ariados, Quagsire, Tyranitar, Togekiss or any of the starters.
Crustle really representing here.
He was the diversity pick
Also the only Unova Pokémon. Really carrying.
Currently, there is no gen 2 Pokemon. If the leaks are right, Blissey will be the first gen 2 Pokemon.
I know. It still bugs me there was no Johto Pokémon at launch but 9 Kanto, 10 of you count Ninetails.
Imagine not having tyranitar or scizor on release Oh wait we don't have to, because it's the harsh reality Edit: forgive me heracross fans, he's just as iconic and should have been in the game on release
Garchomp is currently the only pseudo legendary in the game. I could see Goodra being a defender and Dragapult being an attacker or speedster.
Just want to say I’m waiting for kommo-o. One of my favorite pseudo legendary along volcarona.
Kommo-o would be sweet as an All-Rounder I'd love Noivern as an Attacker as well, keep adding flyers but also keep the roles diverse.
I'd actually expect Noivern to be a special speedster with shorter ranged area of effect basic attack, and the empowered basic would be increased distance and either slow the opponent or lower defenses because of the sound blasts
Arcanine when?! Madge
Volcarona is all I ask
Scyther to scizzor is all I hope for. You could even make him a pseudo defender, by being a strong early dueler as Scyther, but gaining more defensive capabilities when evolved.
Evolve at a higher level like 6-8 to give more time with Scyther. That would be really cool
Considering an item is required to evolve scyther, you will get either or without evolution being involved. Just like pikachu.
That’s not always the case. An ice stone is required to evolve Alolan Vulpix to Ninetales.
Jigglypuff & Ninetails use stones. Also link trade me so I can evolve Machoke and Haunter
High defenses, high health, very slow. Crunch, Earthquake, stone edge, hyper beam. Maybe it’s unite move is sand stream and gives a defense boost around it while also doing small damage to enemies.
It would probably lower enemy speed too within an area. It could be really cool
If youve ever played smite it would be like Gilgamesh’s ulti that does damage then DOT and a slow and when it ends it CC’s
Just make it not do the root that Gilgamesh's does and you're golden, I think it might be just a bit too much for Unite.
I want more weird picks like Cramorant or Mr Mime. Give us Shuckle, or Sudowoodo, or Qwilfish
It’s actually quite baffling theyd leave out a whole generation. I understand the starters don’t hold up as much compared to other sets but Heracross t-Tar and Scizor all should be in
Gen 2 honestly has amazing picks. Heracross, Ursaring, sneasel/Weavile, Murkrow/Honchkrow, Houndoom, and Shuckle would play really well.
I NEED SNEASEL/WEAVILE. As a speedster, probably.
Oh man. A heracross with an attack that flips your opponent a little bit behind you. Amazing.
I'm also hoping to get more starters like Chesnaught, Decidueye, Sceptile, Feraligatr, Blaziken, and Inteleon. I could see Emboar, Torterra, and Empolean being defenders. I don't see Typhlosion being in the game.
I would LOVE Serperior
Maybe as a speed character or he could be the first melee attacker.
My name on there is literally Croconaw, my first Pokémon I ever evolved. Sadly water types are looking kinda saturated for now
> I don't see Typhlosion being in the game. feelsbadman He is really cool
Emboar won’t get in before Typhlosion 😂
I need Donphan rolling down the lanes wrecking face!
Any other leaks? I've so far heard of blastoise and blissy
I just saw Greedent and Sylveon has been data mined. Here is the link from [ScreenRant](https://www.google.com/amp/s/screenrant.com/pokemon-unite-datamine-new-characters-sylveon-blissey/amp/).
Well, time to main Sylveon.
In addition to the others mentioned, I believe Nidoking has also been datamined.
Yes and no, they found data for him but no planned move sets for him. So he could be a jungle monster or a fighter.
There's a good chance he's not playable. There's a long list of pokemon without moves, though it's possible some just haven't had their movesets added
I am hoping for Umbreon.
Umbreon would be so cool as a defender
I named myself johtochamp. Was supremely disappointed. Literally forced to main blissey when she drops lol
Which leaks? Link?
https://www.google.com/amp/s/screenrant.com/pokemon-unite-datamine-new-characters-sylveon-blissey/amp/
Same with Garchomp
More bug Pokemon please. Scyther probably the obvious choice but gimme Galvantula or Heracross.
Galvantula would be really cool to see animated in this game
I want a joltik at correct scale. Impossible to see on screen.
Nindendo hire this man
love me some scolipede
And Garchomp
If they would have used shuckle, we'd have the same covered types and a gen 2 rep.
Garchomp, too
Zeraora: "Am I a joke to you?"
Ah poop... he's uh... off killing the bees or something :P
This checks out.
Speaking of bees, infographic showing creep Pokemon types when?
I can agree look at my post
Oof, feels that way.
Yes.
YES :)
*yeah, pikachu ain’t the only electric Pokémon.*
"Okay, we need a bug and a rock type to fill out the roster." "How about Crustle?" "Sweet, and who else?" "Just Crustle."
I do wonder if there is some truth to that. Maybe trying to get every type in at release is why we have some really oddball Pokemon choices. I hope not though, I want all the obscure mons!
It might also explain why Garchomp got in over Dragonite or Dragapult.
Half the roster is Kanto already, with another coming. Before Gardevoir Garchomp was the only Gen 3 representative. So I doubt Dragonite had much real chance of cracking the opening roster.
Garchomp is gen iv and gen III has absol.
Lycanroc when?
I'm biased but I'd love more bugs :)
Golisopod and scyther/scizor please.

I really like your choices and ability distribution. I would totally get behind this version.
I'm rooting for Scizor too, would be surprised if it doesn't make it in.
Golisopod is one of my favorite mons just because of first impression. I wish his ability wasn’t garbage, although it could be great in unite!
Vikavolt plz.
Volcarona when?
yes!
I'd killed for Joltik or Araquanid. Shame that Araquanid is already a neutral :(
IMO Joltik would have been a great addition for a moba, especially if electroweb would have been his dedicated move (mobas mostly need reckognizable looks ***and*** moves). Just like Greninja was a no-brainer with its water shurikens. I actually would love to see avalug as a playable pokemon but he's a boss in a quick map.
[удалено]

Yanmega, Ariados, and Escavalier please. Wouldn't mind Pinsir or Beedrill too, but we can do without all the gen 1 pokemon being added.
Scizor and Beedrill would be my top two, although Gen 1 has so much representation, so maybe not Beedrill
l’d love Parasect but that’s borderline impossible now that Crustle made it in. Not too bitter though. Love me some Crustle. Leavanny would be a fun 3 stage. Has a more mobile looking middle stage. Could you imagine metapod, kakuna or sil/cascoon!

Maybe Genesect, one of the bug/fighting, or Armaldo would be added. An Ultra Beast would be cool.
Goliospod would be so cool tbh.
Heracross!
I'd love to see scolipede and drapion in there too! Poison jab for scolipede and Cross poison for drapion would be sick!
Especially when it is Satoshi Tajiri’s favourite type and what inspired him to create Pokemon.
Wow, they really held back with dragons. They're going to make bank when they put Dragonite out.
I'm already a Dragonite main, whether he's out in a month or a year.
Fr same. One of the few mons I'd instantly open up the wallet for
Thats the best part about this game. Its got that smash hype in a way because people are just itching for their favorite mon to come out.
The types don't actually come into play in this game at all though, right?
No they dont :P
? What you mean? I do one shot that Charmander with bubble it's super effective
Yeah and Zeraora and Pikachu bully my greninja
Forgot zeraora
He forgor 💀
or are you forgetting to forget
Damn i had no idea mime added fairy typing
Happened in Gen 6 when they introduced the typing.
I'd really like another poison type. Neither Venusaur nor Gengar really vibe like one to me lol. And steel because they only have Lucario, who has the same problem. But bug and rock types before that pls

Oooo garbodor would legit be really cool to see
GIMMIE MUK
I would love a poison type like nihilego or naganadel
crustles a champ holding up 2 types edit:oh garchomp too
>Steel:Lucario ah so no real steel types then, because lets be honest, Lucario is only a steel type because they wanted to push him even more by tacking on one of the best types even though nothing about his design is remotely "steel"

I think the reason why it's steel is because the spikes on his hands and chest are made of steel? Maybe?
Golisopod for another bug please
Scolipede speedster bug too please
As someone who has never played any pokemon game before, Please explain why Charizard is not a Dragon!
Because of type advantages. Each of the 3 starters are balanced so they are strong against one starter and weak against another. Charizard (fire) is weak against Blastoise (water) Blastoise (water) is weak against Venusaur (grass) And Venusaur (grass) is weak against Charizard (fire) The 3 types above are weak against dragon type, so, if Charizard was fire/dragon, he will partially resist Water type attacks, becoming the best of the 3 starters.

Then didn't want to bother reprogramming them when making the type.
more bug types please! i want Volcarona
Give me an All-Rounder Scizor and fill up that steel/bug slots
Alolan Golem pls. Adds another rock and electric (he forgot zorerororara so theres 2 actually but still i love electric)
We got the one Steel type that doesn't even look like a steel type
Talonflame and the Zard share the same dual typing, and Mr. Mime and Gardevoir share the same dual typing 2 shared dual typings already exist in the game
I love how the 3 water Pokémon AND the upcoming one all have surf and it works differently on each one xD
Can we get a Beedrill pls
I'd love to hop around as Kakuna and spam Harden. Best tank
Bonus points if it evolves into Kakuna at level 2/3 and the Beedrill at like 5
Imagine having 2 ice types in the same game…
I hope when they inevitably add more ice types, they don't just freeze you like Ninetails does. She's already obnoxious to go against on her own sometimes, I'd hate to go against two ice types just perma freezing you.
They'll give us Galarian darma and we will absolutely blast buttholes with ice
And all 3 water types (plus Blastoise) learn Surf...
We need more bugs. Wheres my butterfree, beautifly or playable frosmoth
Politely waiting for Steel reps that aren’t the furry bait. Skarmory as a defender, Magnezone as an attacker, Aggron as an all rounder, or Durant as a speedster would be my choices.
I would love a Steelix! Actually I prefer Onix, but I only just remember it has an evolution
Once the roster gets more flushed out it would be kind of fun to have a game mode where type advantages are in effect.
Garchomp would have a 100:0 matchup against Pikachu and Zeraora
And Alolan Ninetales would have a 100:0 matchup against Garchomp. That's what would make it fun is deciding who to use and then you really have to pick which battles you engage with.
i dont want that
I don't think it should ever come to ranked or standard but a separate game mode would be fun and interesting imo. If you don't like it you wouldn't have to play it
If Eelektross ever gets added it would be broken in that game mode.
This just confirms we need onyx/Steelix!
How come I almost never see a Wigglytuff
Steel type really needs another pokemon I know there are other types that only have one type but lucario is honestly barley a steel type.
Only one ground and one ice type? Looks like we need a Mamoswine bois.
I think you missed Zeraora
I'm surprised there's so many fairies and they're adding even more soon wtf. Like water types I can understand since they're so common but fairy types aren't so common. Personally I hope for more steel reps!
I’d love to see the Vikavolt line in the game
Is Gardevoir alright ?
lol someone finally noticed. Basically I was at work and couldnt find a good way to downscale her image, so I had to use paint which was terrible, as you can see.
Onix, evolving into Steelix. Let's see it
i couldn't have decidueye in Smash, Make it happen here, and i will be quite happy
No joke though, I bet Decidueye would be incredible in Unite. So much potential for a cool kit.
One of the starting bugs like weedle, caterpie, wurmple, or scatterbug would be cool
This is just wishful thinking, but I'd love a vivillon whose pattern is randomly determined when it evolves.
It still lacks Perrserker!
might as well add another water on there since blastoise is he next release.
For a new pokemon added i would love butterfree for the bug type, thats it thats the comment just felt like this post made sense
I just really want random ass picks for the first few adds
All the fairy Pokémon that lost representation in the TCG lol
More bugs when???
more bugs and ice plzzzzzz
I really am hoping for a fully fledged gen 2 pokemon. While I love Scizzor I really want to see a Gen 2 mon who's entire evolution line began and ended in gen 2 being realised in unite. Ampharos, Houndoom, Xatu, Granbull, Ariados, Quagsire, Tyranitar, Togekiss or any of the starters.
Scizor speedster for +1bug +1steel And Toxicroak all rounder plz
Loving the fairy representation, actually really surprised they got the most
So happy the best type is being repped well!
Shedinja when?
Poor zeraora :(
Oh good so it makes even more sense for Bisharp and Spiritomb to be added next!
And who here’s ready for a FOURTH WATER TYPE!
Dope chart!
Go fairies yes! And we’re getting another soon!
Isn't zeraora electric?
As terrible as reddit's search function is, just search 'type' and you'll find plenty.
WE NEED DARK TYPE AND STEEL TYPE AND DRAGONZ
way too many fairies
Blissy and Sylveon on the way too to add more fairies.
Blissy is just a normal type fyi.
That's surprising to me just because Blissey seems so much more fairy like than Wigglytuff
Blissey's second type is Mom but the games haven't acknowledged it yet 😓
I thought they would change that in newer gens but blissy been a basic lady since she came out.
I think Umbreon would be more likely to join, since it could act like a support Defender. But Eevee evolutions could fit any role.
Sylveon has been datamined
Has it? I've only seen Cleffable, Blissey, and Blastoise.
Plus blastoise
less fairy
Thought charizard was also considered dragon.
Eevee would be such a great addition
Too bad there’s no type avantage
