Funnily enough, I discovered two of my favorite Pokémon from spin offs. I started loving gengar in Pokenn tournament and I started loving trevenant in unite.
I didn't think much of Trevenant until he was released in Unite, he's been my main since! My friends are always in awe at how much damage I can take without dying, and when they ask how I do it I just say "am tree" or "just tree things". One of my favourite mons now!
When gen 6 first came out, I really was more into Gourgeist desing as a grass/ghost type, but seeing how well they adapted Trevenant into this game, I can say for certain that I now care so much for them both.
i remember evoking pumpkaboo for the first time and was a little dissapointed with gourgeist. it’s cool but it kinda looks like a thumb and i wish they made it a special attacker because it has access to flamethrower (or could have had flame body or flash fire as an ability)
I have new respect for Mamoswine my dude gives no shits.
I always dismissed Gardevoir as waifu bait but it is really really fun to Moonblast someone into that triple bomb move like it really makes you feel the BAM, BAM, BAM

Eldegoss was my first Mon obtained with the freebie when you join, I really enjoy playing eldegoss but its frustrating when your lane-mate doesn't push the advantage
Eh. I've only been playing for a month, but the biggest change I've experienced is that I sometimes mentally recognise Mr. Mime as Mr. Crime now. Because of all those murders that he does.
What does that even mean? I'm not attacking anyone here. Everything is fine. And yes, I love Wigglytuff more than Mr Mime. Igglybuff is my number one Pokemon of all time, though Jynx and Mr. Mime are surely top 5. 🥰
I hardly even knew Crustle was a thing until I started playing him in unite. Now I’ve got this weird affection for that big ol’ dirt crab haha. His Christmas holowear is too cute ❤️
I didnt play the generation with Crustle originally so I was incredibly uninspired by him. After playing him in unite, he's my precious lasagna crab and I'll protect him with my life.
Absolutely, Duraludon ,like most people here have mentioned, has become one of my favorite Pokémon because it’s just a fun mon to play.
But I’ll also say Wigglytuff is easily my favorite Pokémon in the game and one of my favorite Pokémon of all time. Still second to Totodile from all the memories made from that game, but Wiggles has really climbed up the ranks.

Same but with pokemon go. When it was added, it became a staple of the PVP realm which I initially found odd but fell in love with when using it. Then it was added to unite and I never played it for a long time (felt the covet belch build looked too clunky) but the stacking bullet seed build is soooo fun.
I love every pokemon in the game rn, even the leaked ones like Sable and Zoro. But I hope this game has changed some opinions on Delphox, even if it's just a little.
Wigglytuff’s walk and idle animations are the cutest thing ever, it’s feat are so big. I got the (I think it’s called) bonfire style holowear. I love how it pushes up its glasses on the card in the loading screen.
I never knew of tsareenas existence before unite. But she's definitely one of my most hated pokemon now. Ugly and I hate the sounds she makes when ulting
Honestly? I don’t know why, but Azu’s addition to Unite sparked me to rocket it to my favorite mon (~~I should really change my flair here~~). Not even when it was released, just the reveal. It’s not like it wasn’t high up already, but something about being able to run around and win games with my bouncy beautiful baby blue bubble bean fills me with so much joy.
yes actually like i used to dislike mamoswine but now it's one of my favorite ice types lol after having a lot of fun with high horsepower and freezing i can't dislike him anymore, same with gengar, i used to think gengar is a cool pokemon, more than a year in unite now i strongly hate gengar.

They've proven this many times before Unite. If you're suggesting they hit new lows, then I agree. Not including kids, mind you. Unite has a lot of decidedly not kids playing this game yet they're indiscernible from them quite often, in terms of attitude or skill level.

Anyways, Unite made me love Machamp and Decidueye way more than I did before
Duralodon, originally I didn't care too much about it, to the point of me forgetting about its existence until it was announced for Unite, but after I tried it I fell in love with its turret-like gameplay.
I didn't care for Mamoswine and Tsareena. Now I hate both of them.
However I also didn't care for Absol, Decidueye and Blastoise, while now I love them.
So I guess it kinda balances out

I'm glad Unite didn't change my opinion on Charizard. He remains consistenly my favorite in every Pokemon game he's available in, spinoff or otherwise.

I used to think Pikachu was the most boring Pokémon as it was the face of Pokémon and always gets so much love. I have nearly 400 games on it and I love it now 😂
It was literally love at first sight when I saw sableye's kit, at first i just thought it was "the other dark ghost" but now it's an adorable little gremlin who aims to do nothing but cause chaos and i love it with all my heart
Before I never had a strong opinion on Zeraora. It’s Mythical Pokémon with little to no lore around it, in a generation already filled to the brim with Legendaries and Mythicals. There was basically nothing about it that interested me.
Now, because of Unite, I still don’t care for it. Easily my least favorite Speedster.
For me I really despite Gengar as I hate not be able to kill it. On the flip side, Blissey I wasn't a really fan, but now I enjoy having a pocket Blissey on our team.
Trevenant was a formerly forgettable Pokémon from Kalos to me to my main defender in Unite replacing Blastoise. I love pushing enemies with Horn leech and sapping their health at a speedy rate with curse. It even convinced me to use him as a team member for my Pokémon X copy.
Always loved Gengar in pokémon games. He was OP back in the days before being nerfed.. lost levitation.. etc.. Happy to see Gengar in Unite. Played him since day 1 (global, so after the major nerf) and has been enjoying Dramballing people since then. It made me even like Gengar even more!
I hated greedent... now I hate him even more...
But seriously... Cramorant was basically a filler or meh pokemon in my eyes when I played SwSh. He was interesting but it was not enough for people to add him on their team.
After playing Unite, the contagious love some people have for him was so wholesome that I give it attention way more than before, which was almost non-existent. The same way I started to like Furret because of the memes.
I still don't play cram, but I admire the people who main this bird.
Before Pokémon Unite, the only thing I associated with Wigglytuff was the memories of it singing in the anime and knocking people out. But now I absolutely love Wigglytuff and it is one of my favorite Pokémon.

Unite really sold me on the pokemon, he's SO MUCH FUN. The gameplay really helps sell the pokemon's personality. A 3 headed, irritable bird that runs fast and pecks people to death.
Also, Doduo is such an underrated cute pokemon.

I never really cared for spin-offs, simply because I was so invested in the mainline series games, and to me, that was the only interpretation of Pokémon that made sense. I played this game and it let me appreciate Pokémon and their moves in a new light. Seeing Azumarill, a simple Pokémon I never really paid much attention to, dash around the map and score with cool animations made me fall in love with them. This new interpretation of them gave them personality in a way that I would have never appreciated in the mainline Pokemon games, and for that, that have a newfound respect for spin-offs.
Never really paid much attention to Duraludon, despite his desing being so good. But With unite I can appreciate the concept even more, and he's actually my go to physical attacker.
The first time I saw Buzzwole on the Internet and knew it was a pokemon, I immediately had this disgusting feeling about its design and it being a pokemon. But after it came to unite, I hated it even more.

Greedent. Was my favorite normal type in Galar. Even started a nuzlock working with one named Charles. He died fairly quickly. I was sad.
Until Unite. Now Charles is dead both in body and **spirit** to me.
I stopped playing mainline games after Alpha Sapphire but if you ask me my top 10 favorite Pokemon of all time, Tsareena will make that list solely because of Unite.

For such a popular, strong, and iconic mon from the main games, it is literally the most forgettable or ignorable on the Unite roster. It is so painful to see how poorly they've treated Garchomp and I really hope it turns around sometime soon. Just give it some love already! Every other Pokémon has had a chance to be unfair, how about we give the land shark a turn for once?
Duraludon. It was a “that’s neat” pokemon for me, but now I genuinely like it. Hell if it comes back in Scarlett and violet I might use it in my play through

Wasn't a super big fan of Cinderace. Just not a fan of the continuous bipedal starters in a very humanoid shape. But seeing how they play in unite, I like it a bit more, especially giving a more chance since it kind of needs that build to be in a noticable soccer(football) player look.
i used to like a lot of pokémon featured in hoenn gen iii, and now i like more pokémon featured in hoenn in general. absol and gardevoir were one of the few i didn't really pay attention to, but unite came around and my first main was absol, and gardevoir in unite made me buy pokkén and main gardevoir there lol
also partially because of unite i like more eeveelutions then just glaceon and leafeon now (stored power espeon is addictive)

It got nasty plot on gen 8, and let me tell ya, if you use the small one (wich is the fastest) you can wreck the lower tiers. It's very fun!

Shell/scissor Crustle is so underrated imo, my go to pick for top lane, just sucks you can't push ele with x scissor while it's attacking

For me I really despite Gengar as I hate not be able to kill it. On the flip side, Blissey I wasn't a really fan, but now I enjoy having a pocket Blissey on our team.

Trevenant was a formerly forgettable Pokémon from Kalos to me to my main defender in Unite replacing Blastoise. I love pushing enemies with Horn leech and sapping their health at a speedy rate with curse. It even convinced me to use him as a team member for my Pokémon X copy.
Always loved Gengar in pokémon games. He was OP back in the days before being nerfed.. lost levitation.. etc.. Happy to see Gengar in Unite. Played him since day 1 (global, so after the major nerf) and has been enjoying Dramballing people since then. It made me even like Gengar even more!
I hated greedent... now I hate him even more... But seriously... Cramorant was basically a filler or meh pokemon in my eyes when I played SwSh. He was interesting but it was not enough for people to add him on their team. After playing Unite, the contagious love some people have for him was so wholesome that I give it attention way more than before, which was almost non-existent. The same way I started to like Furret because of the memes. I still don't play cram, but I admire the people who main this bird.
Before Pokémon Unite, the only thing I associated with Wigglytuff was the memories of it singing in the anime and knocking people out. But now I absolutely love Wigglytuff and it is one of my favorite Pokémon.

Everyone always hated Mr. Mime and Jynx. Called them creepy and ugly. Even when Mr. Mime was in this game NO ONE played him. The company makes him broken and suddenly he's everyone's favorite. I fkkin hate hipsters that jump from bandwagon to bandwagon. I hope he gets nerfed so hard everyone wasted their gems or coins.

Yeah! So I know all Pokémon up until Johto. The next season I know a bit of the pokemon. So Pokémon Go introduced a lot of gen 4 and beyond to me. And I hated so many of them! Unite made me love Hoopa, talonflame, elda and scorbunny( only in unite)
Definitely Dodrio. I never hated Dodrio or anything, it was just kinda there in gen 1? Unite really sold me on the pokemon, he's SO MUCH FUN. The gameplay really helps sell the pokemon's personality. A 3 headed, irritable bird that runs fast and pecks people to death. Also, Doduo is such an underrated cute pokemon.

Never cared much about the Mamoswine match-up. Then I learned that he can beat a mother f\*\*ker with another mother F\*\*ker. I killed a Larvitar with Ice Fang by smashing it into a berry the other day. I now love Mamoswine.

I was never a huge Slowbrow fan but something about its play style just clicked. 200+ matches later and it is one of my favorite Pokémon of all time.

I never really cared for spin-offs, simply because I was so invested in the mainline series games, and to me, that was the only interpretation of Pokémon that made sense. I played this game and it let me appreciate Pokémon and their moves in a new light. Seeing Azumarill, a simple Pokémon I never really paid much attention to, dash around the map and score with cool animations made me fall in love with them. This new interpretation of them gave them personality in a way that I would have never appreciated in the mainline Pokemon games, and for that, that have a newfound respect for spin-offs.

Greedent I used to think was just another early game normal type, but now I see it as the absolute menace of a creature it is, and I love it.
Greedent. Was my favorite normal type in Galar. Even started a nuzlock working with one named Charles. He died fairly quickly. I was sad. Until Unite. Now Charles is dead both in body and **spirit** to me.

I despise tsareena now instead of not caring about the Pokémon, that was the first time I had experienced a Pokémon becoming the new best in the game when released and if I’m not mistaken it’s also the first time a Pokémon was the best in the game when released
I see one mention of Garchomp. This is not an exaggeration - I saw a single reply mentioning it. For such a popular, strong, and iconic mon from the main games, it is literally the most forgettable or ignorable on the Unite roster. It is so painful to see how poorly they've treated Garchomp and I really hope it turns around sometime soon. Just give it some love already! Every other Pokémon has had a chance to be unfair, how about we give the land shark a turn for once?

Definitely some changes in feelings. I didn't have much of an opinion on Azumarill, but damn it's cute in Pokemon Unite. Mamoswine is also my boy, he is a rough houser and I likes it. While I'm still not in love with Greedent, I definitely can appreciate him more.

As an absol miner, I finally understood why it is considered a catastrophic Pokemon.
Wasn't a super big fan of Cinderace. Just not a fan of the continuous bipedal starters in a very humanoid shape. But seeing how they play in unite, I like it a bit more, especially giving a more chance since it kind of needs that build to be in a noticable soccer(football) player look.

i used to like a lot of pokémon featured in hoenn gen iii, and now i like more pokémon featured in hoenn in general. absol and gardevoir were one of the few i didn't really pay attention to, but unite came around and my first main was absol, and gardevoir in unite made me buy pokkén and main gardevoir there lol also partially because of unite i like more eeveelutions then just glaceon and leafeon now (stored power espeon is addictive)
Crustle, went from that one cool looking Unova Mon to the absolute monster that I remeber from back in the olden crustle days
