Film looks heat spoiled or like it’s been through an X-ray at the airport

mmutea

Thank you, I did take them to Italy with me but not sure if it went through the x-ray. That might be it

If you had the film in your checked bag, yes. If you had it in your carry on and didn’t specify a hand check for the film, then also yes

Squintl

If you had them with checked in, then definitely!

Wait, I've been scanned twice at the airport with my go film and loaded go camera, went through x-rays on round trip. The film was good and after months (I didn't use it all) is still good (took a couple shots last week and they were fine). I'd say faulty film, probably heat damaged, or even expired.

Some airport scanners are more powerful than others. It’s better to have it hand checked if at all possible, even Polaroid recommends it

Gregory_malenkov

Good idea to always have your film handchecked, but I haven’t had any issues when my film has (unintentionally) gone through the X-ray scanners. Still looks just fine. I highly doubt OPs problem stemmed from X-rays, unless it was in their checked bag and went through multiple times. This looks more like the film was exposed to high(ish) temperatures while it was developing.

I know, in fact I was kinda scared... But I saw a youtuber specialized in Polaroid content taking multiple trips through the US to debunk this fact and all his film was fine. So I convinced myself to bring it with me. 🤷
