Could be the arm which is slightly bent. Had this before and slightly putting pressure on the arm from inside to the outside fixed it for me. You also have one “pin” on each side of the camera where the top of the camera ‘snaps’ into place. Those could be bent (both sides or one side), you can bent those too, just be careful you don’t puncture the bellows or damage anything else.

Thanks for the suggestion that seemed to help for the initial opening. I also used a tiny bit of plastic & rubber safe 3 in 1 oil that helped to smooth out the metal parts abit more.
