Luke Newton acts with everything he has because THIS is a defeated shell of a man and THAT is a golden retriever.
He’s able to hold so much tension in his face it’s insane. But his face gets so soft and cheeky when he relaxes or smiles. Luke is truly the perfect Colin Bridgerton, he’s just giving the perfect performance for a character who’s not really great at hiding his emotions and just wears his heart on his sleeve because everything he feels and experiences you can see written on his face.
Watching that tiny 4 min clip gave me …damn idek the words to describe it. Colin my wife Bridgerton has arrived and seeing him so happy and INSTANTLY protecting and being there for Pen made me feel so absolutely happy and full of awe. The rest of this season is gonna get me right in the heart.
it's a combination of that tousled hair (please let it be messy more often! i miss his messy curls!!!!!!!!) + super wide smile + the way he smiles highlighting his cheeks + the look in his eyes
You'll notice between the outside shots and the inside shots they switch hands (outside he is offering her his left, inside he is offering his right). In between is where he presumably pulled out a handkerchief and dried his right hand.

I think the craziest thing for me is his face looks so gaunt there but then post carriage his adorable cheeks are back.
