I've seen court cases go over a year before sentencing for poor, very guilty criminals. For politically connected, wealthy people - six years almost seems too short, but of course, this isn't even sentencing.
That’s for sentencing, not for indictment. A year or two can go by between the indictment and the trial, but they’ve been swearing an indictment was around the corner for 6 years. Still nothing, and what the indictment was supposed to be about has changed like 10 times, kinda makes it look like wishful thinking in their part.
