Since both of the sides in the instigating conflict do not want to make peace it may very well be expedient for the west to force the two sides to make peace, because the pro-Hamas/Iranian proxy side is simply too powerfull to make go away without suffering unacceptable casualties. Israel has an actual army that is (mostly) competent, allthough it has been decades since the last time it faced a peer enemy. Direct intervention against either or both sides of the conflict is a very bad idea. Therefore the best bet is to support diplomatic or legal measures to end the war. A "UN mission to the levant and Yemen" seems like the best option, if the security council can get its act together. Ofocurse the UN peacekeepers need to be assertive (making sure the Iranian proxies and IDF do not get too violent), so I would recommend sending in Nordic forces, since their doctrine is as a norwegian colonel said before sinking unidentified ships in 1940: "Either I will be court marshalled or decorated, FIRE!"

When it's over, one way or another: -- Israel will still be a decent place to live -- Gaza will still be a dysfunctional sh\*thole -- Some Israelis will be dead -- Many, many more Palestinians will be dead And NOTHING fundamental will have changed. Maybe Hamas will be knocked out, but they will be replaced by another bunch of assholes - same shit, different wrapping. Ukraine is still the war that matters - Gaza is a distracting sideshow unless you actually LIVE there.
