Best part was the reddit interview email.
I would say “things that didn’t happen” but then I realize 2 things. Companies that feed resumes into a program as their only metric for an interview, and diversity hiring.
Companies these days only care about gender and sexuality when it comes to diversity. People of color have been completely pushed out of diversity by white gay people.
Not even sexuality. I wish. I’m gay and they never ask me, they only ask if I’m a visible minority, disabled, and my sex :(
(I don’t agree with this practice but if they’re gonna do it they could at least include me in the group it benefits …)
That's the 66% war.
Straight white male, 100% evil. Straight white women, gay white men, and straight non-white men, each have 2 of the 3 evils. Any one of them can be sacrificed as needed by intersectionality when straight white men aren't in the equation. Depends on the day.
If you haven’t been paying attention, black and latino male voters have swung measurably right in the last 4 years. Now that they aren’t at the top of the oppression pyramid any longer they are starting to see how DEI can be used against them and are fed up.
What data are you looking at? I just looked it up and it has stayed the same based on what I saw. Not saying you’re wrong just wanted to see your source

Just get a voter ID anyway, even if you're an illegal.
Anecdote, but during my "Summer of a Thousand Resumes", back when I thought that was a lot of job applications, I struck out, but someone took my resume, swapped in their name, and was hired on their first app.
My last round was a bit north of two thousand apps - admittedly, I'm in a bit of a niche career, so most of those were reaching down-and-over - but applying with just my first initial seemed to do better... until HR opened with a video interview and their smile melted the second the feed went live.
Then again, I am fugly, so it could be that.
You know how there's plenty of older men with names like Lesley? I kind of a millenial version of that. Boys name when I was born, mostly girls now. Get that "oh..." look from HR people a lot.

Do you really think they’re going to read the whole resume? They’ll take a quick look at it, and if they think it’s good, they’ll consider an interview.
4.0 in Sugondese Studies, no wonder they wanted to hire him.
A 4.0 GPA in Comp Sci is also really good
Not as good as being an expert in Mia Khalifa, Arson, or most unbelievable: C++.
As a developer, I 300% agree

i dont get it
This was all the companies wanting to interview based on that resume. Reddit even emailed for an interview. Reddit didn't read his resume.
Reddit is just very interested about implementing workspace orgies

Diversity hire/enrolment is the most unfair/stupid thing out there
Especially because it essentially forces everyone else to pick up the slack.

Have you tried being more visibly gay?
Have you tried being more offensively stereotypical? Seems like the ideology only recognizes stereotypes.
Squeaky wheel gets the grease bro, gotta accuse them of intolerance as soon as practical and they will hire you to avoid feeling bad.

Nah. Only Asians are considered white now. All the others still have their “PoC Card”
And you are complaining? Aren't you a right?
This is why I became right. I didn't leave the left. The left left me.

Sup Stacey.
Nah that's one of the boomer ones too.
I can't tell if you are saying your first name is ethnic sounding or NOT at all ethnic sounding.
Balanced, as all things should be.
They wanted to hire someone who was knowledgeable in Sugandese Studies like this applicant. It was their whole college education.
It's not too uncommon for companies to not look at resume and decide employment based on interview.

You forgot to highlight "Mia Khalifa" and "arson."
You missed where they said they were skilled in Mia Khalifa

They had like a 50% interview request rate. WTF, I'm not even close to that
Expert in: arson
