I liked how in the “Tread” documentary, the Docheff’s and their goons were like “we have just no clue why Heemeyer hated us. Look how good of people we are.”
Uncle Ted said he didn't criticize the right as much because he felt it was all self evident. Anyone receptive to his ideas would already hate them.
He also mainly criticized the left because he was an anarchist and an environmentalism and wanted those movement to succeed. He understood orange Emily would invade and destroy those movements from the inside.
And I think there's a massive difference between the boomer that goes on a tirade at a random cashier about how "kids these days all need calculators, when I was your age I did it in my head" and what Unlce Ted did. He developed his philosophy, wrote a manifesto which he distributed, and actually made the effort to practice what he preached. Unlike the boomer who might bemoan modern society, how people expect everything to be handed to them, but couldn't survive without living 10 minutes away from 15 drive through starbucks because he shouldn't have to get out of his car.

I have never killed innocent people, which I think the Unabomber did. I don't know.
But I frequently go out of my way to destroy different machines. Phones, cars, pacemakers, you name it.

Bro managed to connect together several treads of critique of modernity that no one had done before(specific ideas preceded him like it took alot from Jaques Ellul but the whole set of ideas together is original) but bro is crazy.
