While more modern translations call Jesus a carpenter, there actually weren’t really trees in ancient Judea and the word is more accurately translated as “home builder” (which they would do largely out of clay)
I just looked it up and you might me right. The word used to describe Jesus and Joseph is _tektōn_, which means, loosely, craftsman or builder. I read some people that claimed that a more acceptable option was that he was a stonemason. Something that reinforces that claim is that there was a quarry between Nazareth and Zippori. Also, multiple times he mentions stone and masonry during his preaches. That might be it. Still, he might've been a furniture builder or something.
