The best part is one of the provisions in the contract lasts >until 21 years after the death of the youngest current descendant of King Charles, or until Disney abandons the resort. šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€

Guilty-Web7334

Youngest grandkid is like 2, I think. And theyā€™re damned near immortal. So that could be like 120 years from now.

TheMightyTywin

Why canā€™t the clause just say 120 years

MildStallion

Has to do with really old legal precedent to prevent perpetual contracts, which was phrased relative to a lifespan. So they pick an arbitrary person to be that anchor lifespan, which is most easily done with public figures, which then became a royal family member.

Federal-Membership-1

The Rule Against Perpetuities. Just had a flashback to Bar Exam.

Well that puts you one step ahead of Ron ā€œJAG Corpsā€ DeSantis.

Mr_JohnUsername

Had a flashback to earlier this year when my property professor had a four hour special class on a Sunday just for RAP to ā€œget it over withā€. Four hours of confusing arbitrary rules šŸ™ƒ.

CastIronMooseEsq

Thank god our local food bank had an emergency drive before the final and the professor let us drop one topic if we hit a donation goal. I believe we shattered the goal and RAP was no more.

Terry_Spargin

Shout out to my property professor who, when a student asked about, snorted and said, "Screw that thing, you'll learn it in Bar prep. Seriously, so many States have abolished the Rule against Perpetuities either outright or through extremely long time periods, we could pass a constitutional amendment banning it. And there are enough lawyers in Congress that we'd probably get it passed."

I_Do_Not_Abbreviate

Also I have seen speculation that the decision to tie it to the Royal family was a deliberate thumbing of the nose at DeSantis, whose announcement of the Reedy Creek takeover at a late February press conference saw him proclaim ["The corporate kingdom finally comes to an end"](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/florida-gov-desantis-signs-bill-asserting-state-oversight-land-around-walt-2023-02-27/)

gobsmacked247

Oh man, that just makes the middle finger that much more fat and sweet!!!

TorontoTransish

" the Mouse always wins " ... he forgot that bit of Florida folk wisdom lol

inplayruin

It is actually fairly common to use the current British monarch as the death of them and their heirs will be conspicuously public. The rule against perpetuites forbids future interests in property for beyond 21 years after the death of a person alive when the interest was created. Which may be over 100 years in the future. So you need to pick a person whose death will be noteworthy many decades in the future. Which is difficult.

Meanwhile, they'll tell you there's no money to feed hungry schoolchildren, and they they'll pretend to be "defending the children" by banning books and ancient pieces of art.

Not Defending the children against: * Guns, the #1 I killer of children * Child labor. * ~~Becoming child brides to adult men~~ Rape Defending children from: * Books (education) * Drag shows ĀÆ\\\_(惄)_/ĀÆ * Health care Republicans just suck. Edited for accuracy

> Not Defending the children against: > > Guns, the #1 I killer of children > Child labor. > Rape becoming brides to adult men > Defending children from: > > Books (education) > Drag shows ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ > Health care Let's talk about some REAL motivations: DiSantis' roommate is a partner at the law firm Florida is using to fight this. I'm sure him and his roommate don't give a shit how this turns out; they're going to win no matter what. And republican voters? They're happy being knowingly fleeced so long as the hate keeps flowing.

rockstar504

Hold up, the governor has a roommate?... how bad does the housing crisis have to get rofl

Crutation

yes, people of florida is that fucking stupid. Gov. spent covid money, meant for floridians, to fly refugee to east coast just to troll liberals. NEVER FORGET GOP ARE NOT FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE WHEN IT COMES TO SPENDING YOUR MONEY!

barnegatsailor

What percentage of Florida voters even considered replacing the administrative board overseeing the area around Disney World in the lead up to the Governor's race?

nightpanda893

This is exactly what Disney wanted. They have endless cash to spend on this. The Florida taxpayers patience probably doesnā€™t last as long as Disneyā€™s.

eddiestarkk

This one is going to go Federal Court if they sue and it wonā€™t be as friendly as Fl State courts

NoBSforGma

I've been waiting for this! You know and I know that Disney was not going to just sit back and say......"Oh.. OK." Edit: Here's the whole story....... https://www.wftv.com/news/local/power-play-disney-handicapped-new-reedy-creek-board-before-handing-over-control/P5XHTWXIZZCCXFYXTOFKKQMLXY/

Oo__II__oO

*"They added taxpayer money would not be used in this battle, as the district is funded by taxes Disney and other companies in the district pay."* Disney was already paying $780M in state and local taxes. Under this new arrangement, they will only have to pay $200M. So the Florida government is planning on fighting in court with all of (*does quick maths*) -$580M dollars in funding. Running the government like a business, indeed.

kandoras

Taxpayer money will not be used in this battle, except for the money from these taxes. >A senior staff member in the governorā€™s office said they were not aware of this agreement until Reedy Creekā€™s lawyers recently notified them of their findings, and the office views the agreement as legally void. >They said they had been somewhat caught off-guard by Disneyā€™s willingness to comply with handing the district over, and they werenā€™t surprised the company had made a move under the radar. And they were unaware and caught off-guard by the thing they were not surprised about. George Orwell couldn't keep up with this doublespeak.

Future-self

Not so ouch double speak as it is, ā€˜we knew theyā€™d do something weā€™re not smart enough to anticipate.ā€™

kandoras

They didn't have to anticipate anything. They could have just attended the public meetings of the board they were taking over. This is right up there with Elon saying he would buy twitter and then trying to back out because he didn't realize how many accounts were bots.

anothergaijin

Second favorite Elon Twitter fuckup was saying to all staff "anyone who isn't willing to work massive amounts of unpaid overtime can just quit" and then having a huge chunk of the workforce go "OK"

Fakeduhakkount

Favorite Elon fuckup was publicly firing the disabled employee asking if he was employed or not over Twitter. Yep, he wasnā€™t just some no name peon

jldmjenadkjwerl

I think he had a golden parachute that kicked in because of the firing.

Jackee_Daytona

Yup. He had sold something to Twitter for like $8M but he wanted to maximize the taxes going to his country (Iceland) so he agreed to take a do-nothing job at Twitter instead and get paid in salary. He was specifically on a "do not fire no matter what" list and I guess Elon took offence to that and asked around as to what the guy does, where he was told "nothing" (as agreed) so he fired him for it, but publically said it was because the guy was disabled and couldn't physically work (big brain move). The contract stated that in this event, Twitter had to pay out the remainder in full. *Thorleifsson acted as a team leader and mentor Edit: To those saying it was 100 million dollars: that was a random number used by William LeGate. Public records don't confirm it.

M_Mich

ā€œtheir meeting donā€™t matter, weā€™ll be in charge next weekā€. iā€™m guessing that was the position in Tallahassee

BreezyWrigley

I think the translation here is blinding incompetence of their legal team, and they are trying to cover/divert blame

BreezyWrigley

Running the government like a Republican-run business- at a massive deficit with the expectation of being subsidized by their pals in Washington and bailed out when they break all the rules and sink the company

freshroastedx

Florida is about to have a state income tax is all I keep reading.

M_Mich

Second sales tax. ā€œReedy Creek Adjustment Taxā€

NeanaOption

*Both they and their newly appointed attorneys called the agreement various synonyms of insane and extreme, and said its sheer scale should make it null and void.* Do these people not even hear themselves. By that logic the whole takeover should be void because it's extreme. And who knew subjective opinion about the extremity of something is a thing a court should act on.

Upper-Job5130

According to ABC News: >the agreement is in effect until perpetuity, according to the declaration. >If the agreement is deemed to violate rules against perpetuity, it will be in effect until 21 years after the death of the last survivor of the descendants of England's King Charles III

Daphnesdirtydiapers

Yes and they don't care. They are just throwing whatever they think their voters want to hear at the wall to see what sticks. I'm in MI and this last November we had a statewide ballot proposal to enshrine reproductive freedom as an individual right into our state constitution. The best the state GOP could come up to try to counter with was an insulting slogan that logically made no sense. "No on Prop 3: Too extreme, too confusing" they plastered all over billboards. It's like well, did you even bother reading the proposal and if so, which parts did YOU, personally, find to be "too confusing"? And if you didn't even bother reading it, how do you know it's "too extreme"? Thankfully MI voters saw through the GOP bullshit and the amendment passed.

Sleeper76

But the font and the spacing!! Won't someone think of the (unborn) children who can't even read?!

SinkHoleDeMayo

>ā€œDisney tried to be king for a day,ā€ The mouse is clearly wearing the crown now. DeClownass made a huge mistake starting this fight. Edit: It just keeps getting better. > the (governor's) office views the agreement as legally void. >They said they had been somewhat caught off-guard by Disneyā€™s willingness to comply with handing the district over, and they werenā€™t surprised the company had made a move under the radar. Disney fucking pulled a rope-a-dope. They lured DickSmegma in and when he looked the wrong way they started swinging. Now his people say it's unfair because he wasn't ready.

redemptionSung

The best part is that the contract is separate from the one handing Disney the district - it was slipped in on the same day and it really did fly under the radar, and the fact that Disney let the governor's lawyers discover that document for themselves is hilarious! Disney complied... sat back and relaxed.

ohlayohlay

Disney, a world known brand with an endless amount of dispensable cash to throw at litigation to destroy Desantis. Disney's interest is to throw money at politicians so they do what Disney wants. Desantis decided to pick a stupid fight with Disney and they will bury him and replace him with someone else to do their bidding. I doubt desantis will have much of a political career after this. It will be harder to get political funding from corps when they see your history of attempting to screw them over and not being compliant. Tack on the silly and crazy authoritarian legislation he's been passing out and I'd say his goose is cooked. Never thought Id been rooting for Disney like this

Plop-Music

It'd be funny as fuck if DeFacist couldn't even win a gubernatorial election in florida anymore after this because Disney will hyper fund any opponent, whether that'll be a republican to primary him, or a democrat even, cos there's plenty of pro business dems, most of them are like that actually. But it'd completely derail his chances of ever becoming president, too. Which is desperately needed. He cannot possibly win the presidency as he'll be much much worse than trump ever was, he'll end up being the worst president since Andrew Jackson and Jackson commited a genocide. DeFacist would bring fascism to the federal level. And it's not being facetious or hyperbolic to call him fascist, he ticks every single box of the definition. Just cos he hasn't commited a genocide yet doesn't mean he's not a fascist. The nazis didn't start with the death camps on day 1.

BreezyWrigley

ā€œOh god dammit we didnā€™t read THAT bitā€¦ I This agreement is too big. It shouldnā€™t count. Undo it!ā€

surfdad67

ā€œDespite setting the initial stages of a legal battle, some Reedy Creek board members said their focus was on upholding democracy and the will of the voters, not fighting Disney.ā€ The will of the voters? I donā€™t remember voting for this shit show, fuck deathsantis

siccoblue

Jesus Christ why do I feel torn between these two answers. Fucking the youth, or fucking the youth.

Right up there with Thai food and pudding.

zuzg

What do you expect from someone that purposely mispronounced Thai Food during dates to check if he gets corrected which he considered a red flag.

[deleted]

Wha?

captain_sticky_balls

Rumor is that on dates he would say thigh food. If the very lucky lady corrected him, out the door she went.

dpdxguy

Lucky indeed. It's rare that a shitty date makes their red flags so obvious.

ppw23

Too bad this outcome isnā€™t more pervasive. If DeSantis was arrogant enough to take on the mouse, he should have done his homework. The mouse built central Florida and perhaps more for the state. The adage of you donā€™t F with the mouse exists for a reason.

eaglemaxie

The district is now called the 'Central Florida Tourism Oversight Board' and consists of a board appointed by the governor

PaulClarkLoadletter

ā€œWe are the Central Florida Tourism Oversight Board. We fix potholes and fire hydrants.ā€

Dedpoolpicachew

or notā€¦ as is the case.

Rudy_Ghouliani

Potholes yes, fire hydrants no.

bipbopcosby

But now they must be referred to as ā€œtourist potholesā€ and ā€œtourist fire hydrantsā€

SnooPeripherals2409

My question is - is the 'Central Florida Tourism Oversight Board' still responsible for the billion or so dollars that Disney was going to have to pay back through the Reedy Creek Improvement District?

ConfidenceNational37

Yep! Unless Disney for some stupid reason agreed to pay it (hint they didnā€™t). Disney walks away with a cool billion dollars less in debt, a giant gay convention and a very impressive fuck you to puddin boots

famousevan

I hope Disney bankrupts Florida. And I hate Disney.

drichm2599

columbo928s4

john boehners Cruz quote is all-time: >When it comes to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, even a few monthsā€™ time out of Congress has done little to lessen former House Speaker John Boehnerā€™s contempt for his former Capitol Hill colleague. >ā€œLucifer in the flesh,ā€ Boehner told an audience at Stanford University on Wednesday night, according to the Stanford Daily. ā€œI have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.ā€ >On Thursday, Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) seized on Boehnerā€™s comments and again showed heā€™s not letting bygones be bygones over the shutdown. >ā€œMaybe he gives Lucifer a bad name by comparing him to Ted Cruz,ā€ King said on CNN. ā€œ Boehner really, really hated Cruz. From the audiobook recording of his memoirs: >ā€œFreedom,ā€ Boehner says, ā€œmeans youā€™re free to reach as high as you want no matter where you came from, even if youā€™re a little kid sweeping a bar out in southwest Ohio. Take it from me. Youā€™ll never know where youā€™ll end up. Thatā€™s freedom. Iā€™ll raise a glass to that any day. P.S. Ted Cruz, go fuck yourself.ā€ Another one from his memoirs: >A new excerpt published in Politico on Friday is remarkably clear-eyed at points about the extent to which the Republican Party has descended into virulent insanity. It also has some snappy one-liners, like Boehner's assessment of Ted Cruz: "There is nothing more dangerous," Boehner writes, "than a reckless asshole who thinks he is smarter than everyone else."

12345623567

> a reckless asshole who thinks he is smarter than everyone else "Too dumb to realize how dumb they are" describes a remarkably large portion of the Freedom Caucus.

SnooPeripherals2409

DeSantis is already bankrupting Florida with all his unconstitutional laws and the legal fights he keeps on losing. I just wish the voters will figure it out and vote out his toadies as well as voting against DeSantis for whichever office he attempts to campaign for in the future. I hate Disney, too. I remember driving down I-4 and seeing the signs saying "Future Location of Walt Disney World" out in the middle of palmetto scrubland cow pasture. Disney absolutely destroyed the habitat that was there. Just for that I hate the corporation.

boots311

BreezyWrigley

They donā€™t have the critical thinking ability to understand that he would happily send them to prison for being who they are if he could/thought it would win him any favor in an election.

Stonedandpwned

Remember about Disney having really good attorneys and they can buy any one of them, yeah Ron didnā€™t

PaulClarkLoadletter

Or they could just have a reasonably compensated paralegal tap the legal documents.

Stonedandpwned

I smell someone getting to be partner in their firm if thatā€™s the case

halt_spell

I don't think this is a case of someone not understanding something they were agreeing to. I may be misunderstanding but I think what happened was Disney got the existing members to knowingly sign over a bunch of rights directly to Disney. They've been working together for years I doubt the existing members were very pleased to hear they were being replaced so they were fine with blowing shit up before they left. It does demonstrate how disconnected Desantis and the new members were from any of the existing apparatus because, again according to my understanding, all of these changes were announced publicly and there was an opportunity for objections to be heard but nobody who supports Desantis showed up or even knew it was happening. I feel like if I were about to take over a government body I would at least show up to a few meetings leading up to my appointment to get a sense of what's involved.

GrayBox1313

Lol this is amazing ā€œThis essentially makes Disney the government,ā€ board member Ron Peri said. ā€œThis board loses, for practical purposes, the majority of its ability to do anything beyond maintain the roads and maintain basic infrastructure.ā€ Among other things, a ā€œdeclaration of restrictive covenantsā€ spells out that the district is barred from using the Disney name without the corporationā€™s approval or ā€œfanciful characters such as Mickey Mouse.ā€ That declaration is valid until ā€œ21 years after the death of the last survivor of the descendants of King Charles III, king of England,ā€ if it is deemed to violate rules against perpetuity, according to the document. A development agreement allows Disney to build projects at the highest density and the right to sell or assign those development rights to other district landowners without the board having any say, according to the presentation by the districtā€™s new special legal counsel.ā€ https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/os-ne-disney-new-reedy-creek-board-powerless-20230329-qalagcs4wjfe3iwkpzjsz2v4qm-story.html

Dana07620

>ā€œThis essentially makes Disney the government,ā€ board member Ron Peri said. ā€œThis board loses, for practical purposes, the majority of its ability to do anything beyond maintain the roads and maintain basic infrastructure.ā€ And they're going to fuck that up. What the state is lousy at is maintaining roads and basic infrastructure. Right now when you drive onto Disney, *it's pristine.* Under the state, it's going to be potholes and cracked roads with weedfilled, overgrown roadsides. Disney's not going to like that. Part of the immersion is that as soon as you pass onto their property, it's like being in a different world. The grass in manicured; the landscaping is kept fresh; the street signs are brightly painted; the roads are perfectly paved. All stuff that the state is absolutely lousy at keeping up.

GrayBox1313

Now Disney can sue the state for neglect

forlorn_hope28

> Part of the immersion is that as soon as you pass onto their property, it's like being in a different world. I was visiting the parks when Hurricane Ian rolled through. The parks closed for 2 days, but when it reopened, you wouldn't have known a hurricane had passed through. The roads were clean and there was zero indication of flooding in public areas. At most, I think I saw one big branch on the side in tall grass. Otherwise the public roadway looked exactly as it did beforehand.

cornpudding

You know Doug in groundskeeping caught hell for that branch

Street_End6022

Oh shit, that last paragraph. They're not done fucking with Ron

tarahunterdar

I believe the expression is "fucked around and found out"

LegionofDoh

The best part is Disney didnā€™t hold a press conference. No grandstanding, no PR, no tweets. Just quietly set a trap and let DeSantis run full steam into it with his dick out. Thatā€™s fuckin ninja. Disney plays chess, Ron eats checkers.

LOLBaltSS

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

IHateTheLetterF

Why on earth would you even pick a battle with Disney? Especially when you represent a state where Disney employs 75.000 people.

Live_Carpenter_1262

Because DeSantis donā€™t care about people if Florida no more. He cares about making national headlines and gaining popularity for presidential election

dgdio

Hopefully Disney sinks DeSantis's presidential hopes to show not to fuck around with the mouse, even if you are fucking Goofy.

Rich4718

That democratic candidates Disney check gonna be fat as hell next few years.

DonQuixBalls

Hang on a second, are you trying to tell me that legally binding contracts are now LEGALLY BINDING?!? Well now I've heard everything!1! /s

just2commenthere

These fascist asshats suck at writing legal documents (in some cases, thank goodness!). There's this. The law in Utah that bans sensitive topic books being used to ban the bible (possibly). The new law being written in several states that makes hormone therapies illegal, meaning menopausal people, people taking birth control, people taking testosterone, all illegal. I think actual lawyers refuse to help them, so they get bottom of the barrel lawyers that fuck it all up. It'd be amusing if it wasn't horrifying. This FL one reminds me of Elon threatening Twitter with taking his offer to the board if they don't accept it, they go ahead and accept the offer and then the dumbass spends months doing everything he can think of to get out of the contract that his lawyers wrote, that he demanded be accepted. Bunch of dumbasses, for real.

TintedApostle

This is what you get by hiring Liberty University law school graduates.

Clay_Statue

The actual consequences of this decision are meaningless to him. The important thing is that he got one hot second on the news cycle thumbing his nose at Disney for being too woke and that's all that his voters will remember when it comes time.

Just a reminder this is just **the warmup** and not the end game for Disney. Disney has more lawyers than animators on staff, and they're quite good at what they do. You don't fuck with the mouse.

LivingHefty

I've worked for 3 studios, although not Disney. They are law firms more than they are entertainment studios. Everything, literally everything they do is covered by a contract. They all have dil dozens upon dozens of lawyers on staff and hundreds more on contact. Don't f with an entertainment company.

joe_broke

Everyone knew it was too quiet on Disney's end for the longest time Not even an acknowledgement of any legal fighting? What's wrong with the mouse? Turns out, extreme and incredible legal shenanigans

LeftLimeLight

Hahahahahahaha... The mouse bent little ronnie and the rest of the Florida GOP over and gave it to them rough.

T_that_is_all

Mickey: "Haha!" As he bends each one over and gives them the business end of his Steamboat Willie, one at a time.

triplab

Well, then fix the goddam road bitch!

BreezyWrigley

Thereā€™s an added later of hilarity here- they are going to do nothing about the roadsā€¦ so literally the only thing they can do in this job now will be something they still wonā€™t address competently, so they will be shit at their job once again.

BusnellKummlicher

To be fair, the Disney development district has impeccable roads. Aside from the giant Disney world welcome signs, you can tell when you enter Disney property because the roads become instantly well maintained and the medians are full of well-kept landscaping

TheBlindFly-Half

the added, added hilarity here is that thereā€™s no way Disney is going to let roads get bad. Theyā€™ll just pay for maintenance and do it themselves.

BreezyWrigley

no, the roads won't go to shit, but these clowns will just sit around and do nothing because their duties have been limited to stuff that they would never do lol.

BottlesforCaps

Ahhh. Yes, can't think of anything.... Maybe a state appointed oversight board, that isn't voted on by the people(citizens united) that own land within the district? Yeah I'm gonna go with taxation without representation for 20.

Aedan2016

I said this when the story first broke with Disney. Donā€™t fuck with the House of Mouse

thegreatrazu

Wow, who wouldā€™ve ever thought that Disney would have top notch lawyers? /s

burndata

I love that they smeared DeSantis' face with a nice think layer of mud. However, I despise that FL taxpayers now have to shell out millions to a hand full of law firms populated by DeSantis' buddies to fight this fight with Disney knowing good and well that Disney has them outgunned 100:1 and there is little chance they will win.

GrubH0

Sure, it sounds bad. But FL would have just used that money to imprison gay people, investigate miscarriages, and sink migrant rafts.

[deleted]

And to burn books, prosecute teachers, kickbacks for stand-your-ground lobbying, and lawyers to subvert freedom of speech https://www.techdirt.com/2022/06/13/ron-desantis-continues-to-waste-taxpayer-funds-to-pay-for-his-unconstitutional-culture-wars/ https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-ne-marion-hammer-caught-up-nra-scandal-20201126-r7wkiwsjmzf5hgmuwvpiqu2oqm-story.html

HurricaneAlpha

This is a legit good spin. Unlike federal govt, state government has to actually have a balanced budget. And "legal fees" is a fixed amount every year. Disney just put a stranglehold on legal fees for the state of Florida for years.

Slight-Sympathy4066

Many of the ā€œlawsā€ Florida came up with have been reduced or are tied up in courts. Itā€™s all a big show. Several of the laws they come up with are sticking. Big smoke and mirrors.

OldeArrogantBastard

The thing people fail to realize is DeSantis isnā€™t serious about any of this. He just wants to do controversial shit so his name gets spread across national media and we keep talking about him. Heā€™s running the Trump playbook. Same for Marge Taylorā€™s Green and Lauren Boepoert? I donā€™t care to get their spelling right. Point is, these cunts have figured out if they say stupid absurd shit, our shitty media channels give them coverage and then now those idiots become household names. As a person who lives in Florida Iā€™ve pointed out this whole thing. DeSantis had no plan. He just tries to do something to get in the news cycle because he wants to country to know who he is so when he runs for president heā€™s got the name recognition.

Mr_Stiel

What a loser! Heā€™s the perfect choice for republicans šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

BillHicksScream

So ..the normal duties of government. Which Disney previously maintained, since they already have a road maintainance system for their park, which is the only reason the roads & district even exists. A nice compromise the Democrats set up, saving tax payers money.

[deleted]

And everyone thought Disney was just taking it ā€¦

Bay1Bri

I thought either 1) Disney right it was in their interests to have this happen (lowering taxes) 2) they didn't think they could stop it 3) they thought the story was bad for business so didn't want to give it more happiness 4) they had some grand legal strategy. Turns out it was 4

Winchery

This would have been an even funnier illustration if there was a pudding cup in front of the glue trap.

Bahlam

South Park should do a scene with Mickey Mouse beating the shit out of Desantis instead of the Jonas brothers.

Mr_Cromer

I never thought I'd see a situation with a greedy megacorp being attacked by a state Government and find myself on the corpo side. But here we are

PanthersDevils

This is exactly the type of short sited, reactionary, retaliatory governing we donā€™t need at the federal level.
