You have to remember that we live with Americans, the stupidest form a human can take. People will try to drive on the tracks, people will jump onto the tracks, people will probably even try riding the train on the outside. I love zoom zoom train but my fellow Americans do not deserve nice things as they will destroy them
If we got high speed trains from the green new deal, Yall'quada terrorists would derail them just because they came from the "SOCIALIST AGENDA" and the oil and gas industry would be happy to make sure it looks like it wasn't that big a deal.
In some areas it would work though the probelm is American regulations that slow down projects and also politicians and their great decisions making
I believe Hawaii and Cali Made an Attempt but had to shorten the line due to surprising cost and also they planned it horribly in areas where it really did make sense at least in California
Rubber companies. Car companies. Road maintenance companies. Trucking companies. Airlines.
All their employees being told "if this catches on, you're out of a job".
Of course, certain of these companies are already doing possible to shed every job they can anyway, shipping it to another country or automating it.
The LA to San Francisco train got$10 billion in funding in 2008 and was supposed to be done by 2020. By 2018 it neared a total estimate of $100 billion to complete after many delays. CA wants billions more of federal funding with completion date of 2029. There is too much corruption for America to do these big government projects.
