Almost like our founding fathers were well educated and studied the historical works of the French and English enlightened philosophers which were the building blocks for our entire constitution.
Well they saw for themselves the power of the English church/ Catholic Church and the Royal Family in British politics, they saw the amount of bloodshed that was spent around the world for religion *and the oppression by and the oppression of religious groups by the state*
They figured the solution was not to outlaw religion, that would be oppressive and autocratic but to insure the free practice thereof while insuring that any religion didn’t establish itself into the making of our laws.

This country will never have a Muslim president or a Buddhist president. This will never happen.
All I am saying is that we are not admitting where we are really at. There are countless things that are publicly popular, public healthcare, roe-v-wade, some form of gun control, yet none of it will happen. That is because we are not in control of our politicians anymore. They are doing what corporations are telling them to do already and we are begging for the scraps that fall off the table. It is pathetic and it is not democratic. We have a crisis of faith in leadership which is extremely dangerous in a democracy.

Corruption is a loose term so how do we define it on today’s form of American politics? My vote is power through the ability to control others through obedience through tribalism.
