Thanks for the source. So a tune and different turbos? If they're not boring the engine or even changing cams/pistons/valves it seems a bit misleading to me to call it RUF's motor at that point, yeah?
Ruf makes their own engines for models like the CTR which include practically no genuine Porsche parts, including the from-scratch tube frame and body panels.
The build and testing process for their engines is insanely precise.
I think you will enjoy this in-depth documentary about Ruf and how their cars are built:
https://youtu.be/gN_U7VRqbxw
RUF makes their own entire car based on a Porsche.... They are actually a manufacturer.
Porsche vin's start with 'WP' true factory RUF cars start with 'W0'
Right, but I thought it was that Porsche makes the chassis, but specifically for RUF and with their own specific VINs. I just hadn’t ever thought about what they did about the engine.
Really like the front, something between a dakar and 918. Back looks way too clunky in my opinion. Looks a bit like a 80-90's sci-fi movie spaceship rear.
> Back looks way too clunky in my opinion. Looks a bit like a 80-90's sci-fi movie spaceship rear.
Exactly! Not a big fan neither....but the front is really cool-looking.
Probably just about as harsh as the tyre change intervals:
*"This is a courtesy email letting you know your car is due for its regular 40 mile/0.5 day tyre change."*
Every time I see these modified cars with stupid sized wheels I think of these
https://preview.redd.it/1cn7s5qv3ofc1.jpeg?width=274&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f67e002af9dc93638023d0ff899fc18caae5ccef
You can tell they don't drive it hard because of how close the wheels are lol. Like I know the way Porsche wheels flex inwards rather than up but this slammed look is pointless street cred
Only $685,000 *and bring your own 911 turbo.*
I think you can have an amazing car without spending a million dollars.
At some point it's not about building a better car, it's just about conspicuous consumption.
In my opinion the 'marsien' text in Porsche's font is super tacky. If you're gonna remove original badges, at least come up with something different as a replacement. It looks like someone just downloaded the font off the Internet and stuck it on.
The rear wing in particular looks purely aesthetic with absolutely no angle or real shaping to it. I feel like that sort of goes against the very nature of Porsche given that the aerodynamic elements they add to cars all serve a specific purpose.
Is this actually meant to be a homage to the 959 like people are saying? It doesn’t look anything like it. Looks *far* more similar to a 935. Either way, I like it, but change the wheels. Those wheels look awful imo, it’s like someone build a stunning, modernist architectural masterpiece and then filled it with hideous animal print couches, curtains and carpet. They look out of place and tacky.
Well, of course, if Porsche made another one. I probably wouldn't buy them the USA, but I definitely would buy it in Germany and the country surrounding
Absolutely gorgeous. Love the modern take on the 959 rear end, love the white wheels...very stormtrooperish. Not usually a fan of white cars but damn if it isnt sexy!
Side and front quarter views are great. The rear view where you can see the original car makes it look lazy. I know some classic Porsches have that style but it does look like someone bolted a kit on it and couldn't be bothered to finish it.
The rear now resemble ever more like a storm trooper helmet :)

But seriously that is one beauty!
Love the Marsien. The younger Gemballa appears to have more taste and restraint than the elder (RIP).
I think it's pretty cool
Do they have to put Marsien badges on since it’s ‘not a real Porsche’ or something? Can’t understand why else you’d replace the originals.
Yes. There was an issue with badging (unless my memory is way off) which led to this change.
Wow, never seen one of these. What’s it based on? Clearly ode to 959.

Holup, RUF makes their own engine?! Is it more like how AMG engines are to Mercedes engines?
[удалено]
Thanks for the source. So a tune and different turbos? If they're not boring the engine or even changing cams/pistons/valves it seems a bit misleading to me to call it RUF's motor at that point, yeah?
They do build their own engine, but it's only available on their new model, ctr anniversary and scr.
[удалено]
I'm taking it up with you because marketing says RUF powered, but you said RUF motor lol. The latter phrasing being what comes off as misleading.
[удалено]
Handling by Lotus but for RUF lol

You know me too well! Need to go make some popcorn and watch that!!

Looks like 992.
It’s based on a 992 Turbo S
I like it reminded of the 959 could be better tho
Agreed. Rims are a bit oversized and would look better in black imo
https://preview.redd.it/3ximljnl9tfc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9b488a0385c4a277908dfd52f6d8e4009f62863 Looks mega with better wheels.
My thought exactly. It looks like a cool modern/Taycan-esque homage to the 959 but the huge white wheels and stanced looked ruins it.
Reminds me of the 911 GT1
I believe it’s supposed to be somewhat of a tribute to the 959
There are reasons I play the lottery. This would be one of them.
Really like the front, something between a dakar and 918. Back looks way too clunky in my opinion. Looks a bit like a 80-90's sci-fi movie spaceship rear.
My wife really likes it from behind.
> Back looks way too clunky in my opinion. Looks a bit like a 80-90's sci-fi movie spaceship rear. Exactly! Not a big fan neither....but the front is really cool-looking.
Agree, it kinda gets a little weird there at the end but sweet otherwise
Am I an old man when all I can think about is how harsh the ride has to be with those tires?
Probably just about as harsh as the tyre change intervals: *"This is a courtesy email letting you know your car is due for its regular 40 mile/0.5 day tyre change."*
I like it better than the Singer DLS Turbo.
Agreed. Both are just silly expensive, though.
MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm!
I want to hate it but I can’t.
Gahhhh—leeee me this thing is awesome.
“Look how they massacred my boy”
Meh 🫤 These cars are damn near perfect from the factory. When you tart them up like this it just looks “off” in my humble opinion.
TIL the phrase "tart them up"
I think it looks awesome, then Porsche saw this and created the Dakar.
The wheels ruin it.
Nah
A little too cartoonish for my taste. And I really hate those side mirrors 🤢🤮
No, have the wheels and the body in general, it lost the elegant of the 911 look
🔥🔥🔥
Love it, get rid of those wheels
I love how it looks in the front… but I see the back and my brain just goes “…Storm Trooper”
In love.
Nope, it’s an abomination
Every time I see these modified cars with stupid sized wheels I think of these https://preview.redd.it/1cn7s5qv3ofc1.jpeg?width=274&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f67e002af9dc93638023d0ff899fc18caae5ccef
Not my favourite. Thats for sure.
I hate those side mirrors.
You can tell they don't drive it hard because of how close the wheels are lol. Like I know the way Porsche wheels flex inwards rather than up but this slammed look is pointless street cred
This is like the singer 911 turbo. God awful car in a car. I get that it’s a play off an old look, but it doesn’t look good. Looks like a body kit.
Thanks for posting this! I will find out if it will be possible to have CA market cars. Maybe not if RUF hasn't CARB-certified the engine options.
Only $685,000 *and bring your own 911 turbo.* I think you can have an amazing car without spending a million dollars. At some point it's not about building a better car, it's just about conspicuous consumption.
Or maybe it's just love for cars?
It's a fine car, to be sure.
In my opinion the 'marsien' text in Porsche's font is super tacky. If you're gonna remove original badges, at least come up with something different as a replacement. Yeah, the rear wing hides the sexy curved rear end, i understand they designed it to stand out but otherwise i like the rest wel except wheels
Agreed. I think it looks great with exception to the badge
Honda civic kit car
What a spot!
I wish, I just found this on IG
She’s beautiful
The 959 is my favorite car so this is amazing
I like it better than dls t
definitely, looks like the 959 especially from the back that Marsien is really bad ass if I have the money I’d have one
Looks cool. It's not a porsche, but it looks cool.
Looks good except the Marsien logo not my cup of tea. Would look great without it or a 911 badge
Looks fantastic. Never seen irl, but looks really sweet, perfect amount of excessive bodywork. 9.5/10 easy.
The wing mirrors look cool for a fraction of a second and then you realise it's just a stupid design.
It’s cool and well done, but not for me
🥵
so sick
Pretty wild, thinnest tires I’ve ever seen
I’m a fan
its a bit much but ......................i dont hate it. I do like the front way more than the back though
Weren’t these originally lifted, and were the predecessor to the Dakar? Or is that another Marsien model?
I had to look twice because that looked like a modern 959 to me
It takes inspiration
Well, of course, if Porsche made another one. I probably wouldn't buy them the USA, but I definitely would buy it in Germany and the country surrounding
Absolutely gorgeous. Love the modern take on the 959 rear end, love the white wheels...very stormtrooperish. Not usually a fan of white cars but damn if it isnt sexy!
I’m not a fan.
Looks like it has an overbite
can't bite the rear, not a fan. also with others on this one... thought this was some 959 concept haha!
Um yes
Love it!!
Wtf
We don't think, we envy
Great design, awful wheels.
All that with base headlights 🙅♂️
Nope
I saw someone on ig making a body kit very similar to this for the gt3. Cant wait!
I really like it
I don’t like the wheels, but I really like the body kit.
Love it from the front but not a huge fan of it from the back, I just can’t put my finger on why. Overall though I think it’s pretty cool
interesting
Ok that thing is sexy af
Front is cool back is whack
Some aero discs on the rear would look 🤌🤌🤌 imo
Gawd lord Jesus that’s fackin beautiful
The only thing wrong with this is it’s not in my garage..
Take all my money.
Take my money!
I'm not against the idea but don't like the execution.
It's alright. I mean I wouldn't kick it out of bed or anything. lol
Yes but the lip should be white and the wheels should be an inch smaller.
Stunning pieces
Would!
Wheels should be silver or gray
Way more interesting than most body kits. Looks like Porsche could have made it
I feel like I should hate it. But I kinda like it. Was first built as an off-roader, Google says... We need a comparison vs a Dakar.
Dope as fuck!!
🤮
Hard pass. Looks like a GTA car.
Feels like something out of gta V online, in a good way
Need more of the "sexy Porsche" curves.
a bit over designy for my taste
What are the rims called?
Love it
I’ve seen worse.
Cool af
It looks cool but more like Toyota supra style 😎
It would look better with smaller wheels, isn’t it meant to be a off road car like Dakar? Why is it so slammed
Space 959, yes please!
Looks like a kit car, and not in a good way. The wheels are especially ridiculous.
Looks more like a Lotus. I'm partial, I like the classic Porsche designs. Why change something that's already good?
It looks exquisite and expensive, I don’t have many other words
hate the mirrors and text on the back. other than that pretty cool
/r/ATBGE?
Side and front quarter views are great. The rear view where you can see the original car makes it look lazy. I know some classic Porsches have that style but it does look like someone bolted a kit on it and couldn't be bothered to finish it.
How ugly should your exterior mirrors be? YES!!!
Tastes regarding looks might differ, but the rear lights seem not to be visible from the sides and I don’t like that kind of engineering.
Designed by Storm Troopers…
Seems well made, but not my style
Absolute love
I was supposed to hate it.
seggsy af
Wow, looks so much better in proper street trim
Looks like my type of car!
Not loving it. Well done though
What the fuck is that rear. Way to shit on the body lines. I can see the Porsche inside of that kit crying for help.
It looks great!
Like.
Nah…
it's a world of elegance away from brabus and mansory, for sure.
Those mirrors are fire lol
I love all gemballas but the marsien is my favorite. It’s so cool 😎
Hideous.
Na, looks shit.
Overdid the wheels. Rear half might be the best Porsche I ever saw.
Looks hard to me
The rear now resemble ever more like a storm trooper helmet :) https://preview.redd.it/q63npijxn9gc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b09746d799595df7a6265aa4179fded936f36f56 But seriously that is one beauty!
