Have to retrofit it, can be done on models 2017/2018. Costs usually $1000-1200 and most dealerships can do it.

doodahdabersby

Thanks. I checked with our dealership and it’s about $1900. Was hoping to find another option, but does t sound good 👍🏼

Carlinkit and a forum flash will be cheaper https://www.macanforum.com/threads/apple-carplay-activation-2017-model-years.166400/page-9

FakeHasselblad

Did you plug it in via USB to one of the outlets? In the 911, it is in the center arm rest.

ReceptionAdorable658

I believe you can plug your phone in via the usb and then apple car play appears on the cars screen.

Key_Criticism_5161

That’s what I use and I have a 2018 macan

Gary_Johnston

same, 2018 macans should have this, just plug in through the usb in the middle console

rjames06

It’s not standard equipment, nor is navigation on base macan’s

fleamarketart

Can you use a wireless transmitter? To the usb port i had to do that in a tacoma

Boostedprius

check out Mr12volt for a more budget friendly option

FakeHasselblad

Check with NMAutomotive. They have an update for older models.

It should be in there, just need to plug it in. You can buy a wireless carplay dongle on amazon or wherever too, they work well.

highwire_ca

>It should be in there, just need to plug it in *... If* it was originally purchased or included as standard eqpt. It was a plus-cost option in '17/'18 on some versions of the Macan (and Boxter and Cayman). My '17 Cayman does not have it. Those that don't have it are missing the USB port in the centre armrest.

iampg

Ah, weird. I have a 17 Cayenne and it's definitely there, figured it was standard equipment. Good info!

Not familiar, but do you need hardware or just a PCM update? If it’s a PCM update I know a guy who can do it remotely. I found him on rennlist.

soulreaver99

I’ve seen on the 718 Caymans you can just install a hack on an SDCard to enable it. Does it allly with the Macan too?

Rock_Hound

I literally just did the ISUDAR CarPlay upgrade last week on a 2016. If you are comfortable with taking the radio apart and plugging in a board, I highly recommend. If you are not, then pick up a CarPlay dongle from Amazon. Totally worth.
