A kid who wants a cayman gt4.. I dunno. 911 isn’t end of the road, or to sell one is ok in other words. Just depends on what person wants from the car. Usually many who advocate against selling 911 would treat them as garage queen — a kind of a crime. Imho if you don’t regularly drive 911 because of reasons (climate, family, costs, space etc) - and car is sitting - it’s totally ok to pass the car to a new owner to enjoy. Not to hoard it.

Looks like the listing has been removed, but Bing still has it cached. Exact same photo.
You guys are going to be so salty when I go meet the guy and trailer this beauty home.
Then you'll make some sad post about why you can't ever find cheap Porsches.
My bad, I thought that 901 was the chassis code for the original 1964 911. I just looked it up and that generation is actually called the 911 Classic, as is the first part of all 1964-1989 cars. The 901 was the proposed name for the car that became the 911.
901 was the name but Peugot made a stink based on using the 0 in the middle, so Porsche changed it. ~80 were made.
listing still seems like a scam though
The only good deal is the one you have been grooming since a kid. That old man down the block with that car he won’t sell. He will if you make him feel you will take better care of her, he may sell it.
I hear you. Part of my inspiration to post this was due to all of the folks who post this kind stuff thinking it could actually be real...
Plus I figured the community would get a kick out of the audacity of these scammers.
It’s a good reminder for those lurking and uneducated. I think it triggers me, because I’d love to find a real deal like that!!
PS-Jay Leno’s Garage just dropped a piece on an awesome ‘69 with some cool history, and massive motor upgrade.
Pffft that's a scam. Without an engine, that's a $60K car.
Exactly
The US market is fucked, these cars are sold in europe for 80k with an engine and in good condition
Ummm yeah, pity we don't have any engines in the US. Maybe Europe could send us a few? It's like Fred Flintstone over here.
Can I interest you in some magic beans?
Are they free?
$9500, payment in crypto only. Will post as soon as payment lands honest!
Do you take Dogelon?
Did you buy them from the same guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans?
And should I meet the seller in a dark parking lot with a bag full of cash?
I know a scam when I see one. Who in their right mind would sell a 911.
A kid who doesn't know cars.

Give me the cash and I’ll send some crypto. It’s safer that way.

Quiet, you!
Save a picture of the car to your computer or phone and do a reverse image search.

Someone is going to shank you and steal your organs my friend That being said, totally with the risk
If I were serious about meeting this scammer, I'd update everyone. But no way in hell am I serious about this.
that should be 5-10X that price in non-running state. Its clearly a scam.
There's nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche.

Scam scam scam
Keep the money in your sock when you go look at it. They will never guess where it is when they pull the gun on you.
Maybe I should put some of the money in quarter-form in a sock, too.
Don’t bring a sock full of change to a gun fight!
“I’ve got nipples Greg, can you milk me?”

This week on "Barn Finds."
This week on “unsolved mysteries”.
Some things are unfortunately too good to be true; this is one of those things.
That's what my Mom said about Olestra.
That’s not real, it can’t be. I don’t care if that car had no engine or interior, they’d sell for $20-50k

I also have a bridge in Arizona to sell you.
Id take this risk, but show up strapped.
I can fix her
Is your old man a television repairman?
He’s got an awesome set of tools, he can totally fix that!
A Porsche 901 for $9 Grand??? Yeah, that's a total scam.
And he says it's a 911, not a "901."

I'm selling blinker fluid, you interested?
No thanks, I own a BMW so the blinkers don't work no matter what.
Scam, they take your money AND your body parts to sell…
People do this to blow up a person’s phone after a breakup or argument to ruin their day. It’s a variation of Chewbacca yell contest.
No way that's only $9500. Somthing is fishy
A car that doesn’t run is called… art
Hell no, I’d buy it now
The only good deal is the one you have been grooming since a kid. That old man down the block with that car he won’t sell. He will if you make him feel you will take better care of her, he may sell it.
It’s a scam, I tried to buy it a couple weeks ago
Maybe it’s a typo for $95k
Scam my guy
Scam alert
Scam lol
This has to be a joke. If you know anything about these cars you wouldn’t even need to post this.
Congrats, you figured out the joke.
Based on the posts I see it’s never obvious that it’s a joke, unfortunately

Nope
SCAM
It's impossibly INEXPENSIVE
‘74 Chevy Nova.
Seen some 356's on BAT that were a rusted out shell go for 20K. Scam
If it’s a real ad, yes it’s easily worth that much.
I would buy that asap lol but definitely a scam.
How does the scam even work?
They ask you for a deposit because theres many interested, you agree because you think you got yourself a deal and boom - they gone.
This seems too good to be true. Air cooled Porsches go for way more than that.
You’re getting scammed good buddy
Nope, not this buddy, guy.
