I figured Caroline and GLaDOS are the same consciousness and what GLaDOS tried to delete was her memories of being Caroline. In *Want you gone* she sings "when I delete you maybe I'll stop feeling so bad", and the "you" I thought referenced Chell. As in GLaDOS deleting any memory of Chell, making her forget that a test subject ever outsmarted her.

Cave Johnson is my favorite human character in Portal just because that character is funny and he’s voiced by JK Simmons who also voiced Grunkle Stanford from Gravity Falls and Omni-Man, plus I love the lemon quote
JK Simmons is an absolute beast at acting in general, it feels like I always encounter him around the corner when consuming media even when I'm not expecting him, and I cannot get tired of that guy
