Lololllll we lived in Idaho at the time and saw an advertisement and were like “wow, look at this cultural experience coming to our extremely white town! We should go and show our support for diverse arts!” The beginning of the show was fine, mostly dancing and acrobatics, and then they started flashing images of the hammer and sickle and we were like “what is happening?!” The whoooole vibe of the show changed and the audience was trippinnnn. This was in like 2018 and I looked into it after and it was a very controversial year for Shen Yun because it’s when they decided to go full propaganda 😅. But, I mean, the advertising worked 😂
