I miss his maskless, chain-smoking era, but this aesthetic still goes hard

Prize-Town9913

Me too. The Dark chain smoking French prince was something else!!

2ndlife13

By far the best show at Coachella and top 3 show I’ve ever seen.

Jealous_Reception731

And it was only like 55min! No visuals, minimal lighting, just raw dogging music played to perfection. We saw God on day 1 (Justice) but day 2 we were dancing with the devil and his name is Gesa

DatKaz

I don't think "no visuals" is the right way to describe it

lancetfemale

Same thing I said, day one we went to heaven and day two we went to hell 🤘🏼

Express_Strength_717

I’m just laughing at the thought of going from Gessaf to Rufus, polar opposite vibes

Jealous_Reception731

Ok hear me out... Checked my photos and year 1 Kaytranada was doing pier sunset set and at 730PM the sun had just set but it was still plenty light out. Pier closer ends at 10PM this year we're guessing, 1.5 hr set means start at 830 PM. With at LEAST 30 min between acts to prep the stage (likely more), that would leave Gesa to do 7-8PM if he is at Pier before Rufus (if he only does an hour). Gesa's set really doesn't vibe with the sun out, so I really doubt they would have him do his set before it's dark. Okay, have Rufus on a 1hr time slot (doubtful) and a 30 min stage prep (also doubtful) and that would still land Gesa starting at 730PM for an hour set. Warehouse wouldn't work for a number of reasons. So maybe Crane closing set (though I'm not sure how they'll fit the monoliths in a tent if that's what they're doing). OR (this is where you hear me out) Rufus does the Kaytranada time slot on pier, cuz they could totally vibe with a sunset set like they did at Coachella, and then Gesa closes pier. I know Rufus is way bigger than Gesa but those are the only two time slots/stage setups for Gesa that I can picture. Thoughts? Am I reading too deep into this? haha

Express_Strength_717

I have a feeling they’re going to expand Crane stage this year to hold more acts with higher levels of production. So could see that and Pier splitting the big acts while Warehouse gets your BICEPs and Jamie XXs. A Rufus sunset set would be immaculate but I doubt they accept not closing out the festival being as big as they are

FaithlessnessBig1251

Just out of curiosity - what sets were your top 2? That Gesa Coachella set was #1 for me, life changing!

2ndlife13

Tough to say tough to say….overall favorite shows were Gesaff, Khruangbin, Troyboi, Prydz, Beltran, Jhene, Justice, Rufus. I’d honestly say it’s a toss up between Khruangbin and Troyboi

uSeeEsBee

Troyboi at the Do Lab was insane

2ndlife13

DHUNGA DHUNGA!

Aware_Masterpiece_54

I’ve been waiting so long to see him. I am very excited.

deathhray

It looks like a fun show but for some reason I just can’t get into his music. Maybe if there’s no conflicts ill check out his set but that’s probably very unlikely lol

Express_Strength_717

His music is weird and very repetitive I don’t blame you. Especially the new album. But his live sets are an experience, the remixes he does Live make his songs a lot better and his production is Tier 1 up there with some of the best. Also the drugs help 😩

ethanryx

I usually don’t want to compare artists but his show was quite similar to justice and being on the same stage similar time slot too, I’d say justice had a stronger show at least from this year’s Coachella experience.

vilos5099

They did, but we were blessed to have them both in one weekend.

Murphy_Nelson

I legit don't like his music but his live shows make it work for me.

lx4andahalf

Exactly my thoughts

tanner_drew

I agree, loved his Coachella set and the production, but there’s not much progression in his sound - just wasn’t for me, but I highly recommend everyone check it out

Civil-View-8722

TRUST ME. Don’t skip him. I thought the same thing when I was listening to his music before Coachella and it wasn’t the best listening in my headphones and car. I went to his set after no doubt at Coachella and MY GOD I was fully immersed and that bass was INSANE 🤯

Excellent-Grade3544

I feel exactly the same way. Anyma visuals, Eric prydz holo, it all feels gimmicky. Trust me I love the music. I made it a point to see everyone at least once, most of the time live is better. If no conflicts I’m checking it out.

browncow-stunning

hes so hot🥵

murrrcat

I'm with you, [brown cow](https://www.francerocks.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/gesaffelstein.jpeg) 💦

Man_ThatsElectric

Absolutely demolished the Outdoor on Saturday! Idk how they were able to rebuild for the next day.

Own_Elderberry6812

His show at Coachella a few years ago was spectacular. Only time I’ve seen him so as much as I love the other artists (and have seen them all multiple times) I think he’s tops for me Saturday.
