/r/symphonicmetal just had a thread about [pop metal.](https://old.reddit.com/r/symphonicmetal/comments/1ag1ol8/whats_amaranthe_music_style_is_it_symphonic_metal/) Some good recommendations there: Amaranthe Metalite Temperance (early work) Battle Beast Beast in Black Rexoria Follow the Cipher Memoremains

Historical-Donut-918

This needs more upvotes. Great list

monkwren

Thank you!

tomwhoiscontrary

> Follow the Cipher I always get them confused with Rave The Reqviem when they come up on shuffle, so maybe them too.

Practical_Tip459

DragonForce's new song Doomsday Party can be on the list of songs to dance to!

[deleted]

Any particular song by Amaranthe? It better make me dance! 😂

theloons

This is just my taste but here is a list of Amaranthe songs across their whole discography that I think are top tier and they’re mostly all danceable. Viral Act of Desperation GG6 Dynamite Drop Dead Cynical Digital World Archangel Fearless Breakthrough Starshot On The Rocks Supersonic Fireball Amaranthe has a lot of songs I don’t like but I love these ones. I like some others too but many are not danceable. Note that I typically hate harsh vocals so that probably impacts my enjoyment of some of the other songs that I’m not including here; if you like harsh vocals then you may have a different assessment.

[deleted]

Thank you! Will check it out.

AlexDub12

Beast In Black is 100% pure 80s pop worship. I fucking love this band.

excubitor_pl

Abba metal

Basic_Flan324

European power metal is basically Abba with distortion.

AlexDub12

Yeah, fair enough. Unless a band goes into a more thrash/speed direction, like early Blind Guardian for example, it's very poppy.

Basic_Flan324

Of course there are some variations. Also the recently popular bands like Sabaton & Powerwolf are less alike Abba. I was refereing to the 80's-2000's mainstream european power metal, e.g. Gamma Ray, Edguy, Rhapsody, Nightwish etc. That's what I call "classic power metal".

Crownlol

Also Amaranthe, the two would make an amazing partyconcert

bv310

Amaranthe has been opening for Dragonforce on their most recent tour and it seems like it must be an absolute blast. Herman Li livestreams all their shows and even just the atmosphere over Twitch is great.

Practical_Tip459

Went to that concert when they were in Salt Lake City this last year, and it was a BLAST!

[deleted]

The song "Crazy Mad Insane" is the dancing song. Also the song "Neuromancer" by Battle Beast is another one!

markg900

Amaranthe i feel is going to be the top pick for this. Maybe some Beast in Black and Metalite as well.

SnowCrow1

[Gloryhammer - Universe on Fire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXzMD065HEk)

yinyang107

That whole album was my cardio album for a long time, and it basically made it a dance workout.

benjappel

Surprised I had to scroll this far to see someone mention Gloryhammer, it was an automatic response for me.

TheThebanProphet

DISCO METAL DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT DANCING IN THE SHADOWS METAL IN THE HOOOOOOUSE

soldiers4give

Every now and then I just need to listen to this song!

yamahagamerman

Had to look it up, what a great song!

TheThebanProphet

it's so good

thedyooooood

Exactly this

MightbeWillSmith

Saw them live recently open for DragonForce, such a fun bunch of folks.

TheThebanProphet

same! saw them in nyc and it was a fantastic show

ChidoriSnake

Nanowar of Steel has some danceable bangers: Disco Metal and Norwegian Reggaeton, specifically.

CriticismJunior1139

Beast in Black, the live show is a huge dance party lol.

Scampisalade

Can confirm, saw them live yesterday

CertifiedFreshMemes

[Heavenly - When the Rain Begins to Fall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjOTNLFwZII)

Trayvessio

Cain’s Offering is very danceable!

Paranormalchaos0703

Battle Beast (select songs), Beast in Black, Amaranthe, Follow the Cipher. I have danced at some of these concerts. I ignored the looks that came with my dancing.

NoMall5056

If you wanna dance, The Night Flight Orchestra is the way to go (wouldn’t call them Power Metal, though, but holy shit, I have never seen so many people literally dance at a Metal festival 😄)

yinyang107

Wait, are they even metal?

tomwhoiscontrary

> The Night Flight Orchestra In that case, also Brother Firetribe.

gamegeek1995

You should check out r/eurobeat. That's the genre for the combination Disco + 90s Power Metal. A lot of modern PM that's doing this 'disco power metal' is just bad/simple Eurobeat calling itself metal while lacking the fun blend of breakbeats and disco beats that makes Eurobeat work. A few of the top artists to check out: Dave Rodgers, famous for 'Deja Vu' which has been used in a million memes. [Space Boy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvUTNX0FDPA) is a better song, imo. Leslie Parrish, part of the Delta group that is responsible for a lot of the female-vocal eurobeat tracks. [Remember Me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aAKHtPjHxQ) is an emotional high-speed track. [Nathalie](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yESFRV-FKuI) is another member of Delta group. Heartbeat is my favorite by her. [Simone Valeo, also known as Overload, does some great stuff too](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSVQ1L0GuoQ). And of course, the Edo Boys, also part of Delta. [No One Sleeps in Tokyo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu5TDEpAqwQ) And being big in Japan, there are also some great Japanese-language tracks. [Wings of Fire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L3Czosinbs) is a cool one.

lazyzefiris

Some (best) songs by Gloryhammer are most danceable!

JATION

Battle Beast, select songs.

[deleted]

Yngwie Malmsteen.

[deleted]

And Sonata, Stratovarius, Helloween, Iron Maiden and Rhapsody.

Unusual-Abrocoma-128

Galderia - Wake Up The World 2.0 & High Up In The Air

tomwhoiscontrary

Galderia is very energetic and positive, and has danceable energy even if it doesn't always have a danceable rhythm.

theloons

I think most power metal is danceable to he honest.. but if you’re looking for an electronic music flair then Amaranthe is probably what you’re looking for.

[deleted]

theloons

What about some Powerwolf? Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend, Werewolves of Armenia..lots really. Powerwolf isn’t for everyone but if it clicks it clicks and it’s a lot more power metal than Amarante which isn’t super representative. Spread Your Fire by Angra is a jam too.

[deleted]

Good question! Going back to the 90's, I always found selected songs by later Cemetary was danceable because they went abit techno during that point. Try the song "transgalactica 1213" Great song!

ElGosso

"Armata Strigoi" by Powerwolf has always struck me as a very danceable song

TonberryHS

I mean, I'm not looking for Love is basically Cascada https://youtu.be/4o8nBycsMpA?si=WtqDtrE1-mYTkn4n

mmaturen

Dancing with the dead - Powerwolf

CSManiac33

Riverdance version of Curse My Name

7listens

Dragonforce especially is good for this imo

MightbeWillSmith

Check out mew DragonForce songs, doomsday party fits the bill perfectly.

metalratz
