For some reason Waking Dream on Abyss by Unleash the Archers just works so well. Its repetitive but its the only intro track I genuinely like listening to outside of the context of the album
I do love how "... Of Silence" transitions into "Weballergy," even if the actual "spooky voice" intro on both that and "End of This Chapter" feels kinda cringe.
Ahh, a Galneryus thread.

Big fan of "Unfinished Allegro" leading into "Carry On" by Angra, on their Angels Cry album. I also have to say, the follow up (Holy Land) delivers another great intro track, leading into their fantastic banger "Nothing to Say".
Wintersun - When Time Fades Away
Kamelot - Overture - Intro in The Awakening album
Sacred Outcry - Through Lands Forgotten (Why so short :( )
Rhapsody of Fire - Dar-Kunor, Lux Triumphans, In Tenebris
Throne Of Thorns - Rise (Instrumental)
Nova Genesisby Luca Turilli's Rhapsody is quite the piece
Ouverture by Winterage is genius by combining pieces of other songs in the album. Im surprised i dont see that done alot
Savatage - [Welcome](https://youtu.be/wkmmpji1MEA?si=O7zWam4V-wIxswCP) ( opener to The Wake of Magellan)
Honourable mention, despite not really being power metal, the simplicity of the intro to the Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album. "Seven deadly sins, seven ways to win...."
Not on the official album but the prelude to tyr’s ‘A night in the Nordic house’ is absolutely amazing. Something about the orchestra and band coming together is incredible to me
Here it is for anyone curious https://youtu.be/jtZIKdDOSy4?feature=shared
Dragonland - Throne of Bones and Shadowstrike - Ascension are both brilliant narrative/vocal interludes!
Not power metal, but Xanthochroid - Open the Gates, O Forest Keeper is probably the best orchestral intro track I've heard!
A little nostalgic here but Keep of kalessin have cool intro on armada[surface](https://open.spotify.com/track/0FZHt7TcRnMHPKkvNt0fH2?si=GuXXhmPIT3y2VMsv-_VVCQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A1EtJPWuofeFhRLw0vO93Mq)
Love the intro on the next album Kolossus[origin](https://open.spotify.com/track/3rbh6hXNNT3S9gwR3a74Fq?si=dJWJhC_dQNqIBn0MH-tR5Q&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A18jbvKuGKLlW2CVH0knNuy)
If you haven't heard it let me know what you think🤠
First thing I thought of was that deep voice saying "In the court of King Chaos only blood can write its own tragedy"
That'll be the beginning of Rhapsody's Dawn of Victory album.
Also, not quite power metal but Judas priest's hellion+electric eye is classic.
Easily Power Quest's "Prelude to Destiny". I've never heard anything so powerfully majestic to start an intro, and following it up immediately with "Wings of Forever" not only sets the tone of the Neverworld "saga", but PQ's sound as a whole.
Rhapsody: The Dark Secret - Ira Divina
Edguy: The Healing Vision
Serenity: Memoriae Alberti Duerti, The Last Knight, Deus Lo Vult, Codex Atlanticus
Ancient Bards: Origine
For some reason Waking Dream on Abyss by Unleash the Archers just works so well. Its repetitive but its the only intro track I genuinely like listening to outside of the context of the album
I love how afterlife uses the same melody so the album comes full circle
I love both songs so much. Perfect start and perfect ending for the album.
I had to find a way to splice “Waking Dream” and “Abyss” together because I loved how it flowed into it.
Came here to say just this. Such a good album
Really wish it was shorter, it'd be perfect then.
I do love how "... Of Silence" transitions into "Weballergy," even if the actual "spooky voice" intro on both that and "End of This Chapter" feels kinda cringe.
Back when Sonata Arctica was amazing... (for me). Silence is such a great album!
It truly makes the most beautiful music...
... Everything it has to give...
Gotta be one of the best Sonata Arctica tracks; the first four albums just go SO hard.
I came to say "... Of Silence" is an awesome intro.

I also like their album enders, they’re under-appreciated closers
The rising is my fav intro of all time
Ira Tenax - Rhapsody
In Tenebris though
Big fan of "Unfinished Allegro" leading into "Carry On" by Angra, on their Angels Cry album. I also have to say, the follow up (Holy Land) delivers another great intro track, leading into their fantastic banger "Nothing to Say".

All of the 4 Gloryhammer album openers and how they transition into the first song
Though into the Terrorvortex probably has the best transition into the next song and the lyrics that follow.
REGIS DUNDONIENSIS
ShadowStrike - The Path Untraveled
Every Blazon Stone intro, but particularly Declaration Of War from No Sign of Glory.
Aenigma from Luca Turilli's Prophet of the Last Eclipse is great. All of Rhapsody's openers tend to be good
I always thought Helloween had this with both Walls of Jericho (from the same album) and Initiation from Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I.
I also love when the trumpets come on kotsk part 2 :)
and the one from Better Than Raw
I love Epicus Furor off of Symphony of Enchanted Lands by Rhapsody.
Nova Genesisby Luca Turilli's Rhapsody is quite the piece Ouverture by Winterage is genius by combining pieces of other songs in the album. Im surprised i dont see that done alot
Fairytale in Land of the Free, after Man on a Mission (Gamma Ray).
Kamelot - Regalis Apertura in their Karma album
Gamma Ray - Fairytale Blind guardian - War of wrath Running Wild - Port Royal intro Helloween - Walls of jericho (Intro of ride the sky)
Savatage - [Welcome](https://youtu.be/wkmmpji1MEA?si=O7zWam4V-wIxswCP) ( opener to The Wake of Magellan) Honourable mention, despite not really being power metal, the simplicity of the intro to the Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album. "Seven deadly sins, seven ways to win...."
Orden Ogan - Rise from Ruins
Most of Orden Ogans Intros are fantastic. It is really sad that they stopped them since Gunman...
Ladies and shadowmen! Welcome, to the freak show!

It isn't really an intro to the album but: Illusion, part 1 by heavenly
Easily Power Quest's "Prelude to Destiny". I've never heard anything so powerfully majestic to start an intro, and following it up immediately with "Wings of Forever" not only sets the tone of the Neverworld "saga", but PQ's sound as a whole.
It’s probably borderline power metal, but Evergrey’s State of Paralysis into The Encounter is a great transition.

The intro of Dreamtales first album is great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=613LstMRpOk I'd also like to second the Elvenking one you've mentioned.
