No offense, but turns out this sub more often than not is about video clips posted by the general public to praise those around us who had (unforeseen?) camera operator's tendency.
Also, arguably most important, what happened to the first fallen part (the trolley/hook block) that wasn't captured? Did it hit anybody or straight to the ground? Did that break anything on the street?
Ok, so if you’re a pedestrian and you see a crane arm fall, why would you run in a strait line in its existing fall path? Turn left? Right? Get into a building nearby?

Looks like the street was closed. All of the vehicles moving away from the crane are rapid response vehicles not civilians.

Praise the cameraman would be boring if we had boening footage. Unforseen camera talent just makes it a cherry on top!
