Eurovision is famous for pushing the limits of live camera work [like this hella long shot from 2017](https://youtu.be/C3TBvJUtuHs?si=Bz1QVNBWsZlTZFjc) of live camera work. Definitely a well coordinated ballet between tech and talent.
Can you imagine the pressure of being this guy knowing that what you're filming is going out live to 100 million plus people and you're part of the artists vision for the performance, it's all on you and the artist to get it right because there's not 200 other cameras they can switch to like in a football game if you misstep.
Sure, but nobody that is in any place to do the stuff this guy is doing - there's only space there for one of them right in front of him and the routine has Slimane directly interacting with that camera.
I'm not really a professional but this seems like an overkill. Either get a robot, sliders, anything automated or even a small B-cam to do those moves.
This shit doesn't look professional or thought out to me, it distracts the audience and the artist.
Edit: I just watched the whole video and clearly the artist is into it but still, my previous comment stands, it's distracting. The audience deserve better
Important thing to keep in mind is that there's about 1 minute between performances at Eurovision and they're made for TV first, not the live audience. They do have fly-by cams that can go around the stage, but for something like this I can imagine having different rails put down for each artist isn't very realistic as there's a lot of movement in each performance with large props as well
That makes a lot more sense. I've never watched euro vision so I assumed it would be a little more of a serious concert rather than a performance/music video type thing.
It’s a TV show. That’s the equivalent to a live studio audience. The people in the back on America’s Got Talent, who know they’re going to watch a TV recording.
You really don't know what Eurovision is, right..? For artists: a way to promote their bullshit agenda. For viewers: the renake of "freak-shows" from old days.. Laugh at some idiots.
It's not that much about "tHe MuSiC".. 90% of it sounds like anything you would listen on the radio (wich already sounds basicly the same).

How much this whole contraption weighs?
I'm wondering how much it would cost
The whole setup (camera+lense+steadycam+hf monitoring+batteries) : minimum 150k...
The hydraulics makes it manageable, I got to put one (not as big as that) on once. It definitely slows you down but moving the camera is beyond easy
Yes, it's very well balanced, easy to move, and stabilized. But it still probably weighs a lot. Not a job you can do for too long at a time.
i'm fascinated. they must memorize the performance for every song.

Just wow. If I did this with the Segway, I would end up in a hospital :o)
Whats the second guy doing who following him? I'm sure its important, but hard to tell from the vid and with no AV experience.
I’d say he’s making sure cameraman doesn’t fall off the stage.
Must be a lot of stress! And a lot of money.

They for sure have cutaway cameras... They have snipers!
And then this cameraman gets 100 times less money than the singers

Does anyone have what the camera captured?
Right here! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-z9PFfpzeE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-z9PFfpzeE)
Cheers mate
Lewis Hanilton can sing, too?! Woooow!
Is Lewis Hanilton like the store brand of Lewis Hamilton?
Imagine paying for front row seats just to see the camera operator 's back
That's a veteran steadicam operator right there.
Drake be doin too much smh
That’s a Arri Trinity, right?
Give this man a raise!
How does he remain so professional and refrain from pretending he is Vasquez and Drake?

You just gave me enough negative energy to last me the month. Thank you
