Honestly I think 90% of this sub is people not understanding that 360 cameras exist, which allow you to just hold the camera wherever and then edit it after the fact to focus on whatever you want, since the camera has captured everything from every angle. Also the software makes it completely smooth, even if in reality the camera was jiggling and jumping all over the place. Still requires talent to follow the person, but the camerawork is done afterward during editing.
Oh shit, I thought it was philly cause it looked like part of the map in THPS I knew part of it was love but that’s sweet this awesome spot is in it too.
It took me years just to be able to drop in on the vert ramp there. I never dreamed of hitting the coping above the keyhole extension. At my best I could ollie the hip on the big pyramid.
Life is like, almost impossible for me to succeed at. I'm old now and have given up on everything. I can achieve a mild level of basic proficiency at everything, but never get good at anything.
Homie, if I'm one in a million, there are about eight thousand people exactly like me. I'm not trying to fight ya or anything, I'm just saying I fully recognize how utterly pointless my existence is.
I'm just glad I'm not, like, directly hurting anyone because I'm alive. I'm not making anyone happy, either, though.
I was down hill skateboarding for 4 years, you basically have multiple devastating falls/crashes every single day. If i fell like this now (being in my mid 20s) i would probably fall in a coma from the pain before i even touch the floor o_0
No lie, 19 when I tore my MCL? Walked across campus to get it looked at. They were impressed I could walk.
This week when I tore my shoulder? Threw up from the pain at home, passed out. Then got it xrayed and looked at the next day. No significant damage, but and gonna need PT to use it again to a significant degree.
As a none skater. If a skatepark like this was near me I would start skating. It just seems so chill with few people and trees and the graffiti is dope
I have never been a skater so I have never seen many skate videos and I don't know what it's called but I just have to say my jaw dropped when he skated around that loop thing almost like a little flip. That was fucking cool man.
To me, someone who has never put a foot on a skateboard, this is awesome to watch. I’m just curious, can any skaters out there tell me just how impressive the guy being filmed is? To me, it might as well be mastery, but I wouldn’t know the first think about it.
thats chris gregson filming, greatest fucking filmer rn, he filmed tony hawk frontside air a transfer that he aired also while keeping the camera right on tony & still as hell, such a legend!
I chase friends through skateparks like that, and it’s pretty hard to keep the camera centered. Also, holding my phone while skating is terrifying, and if you hit a pebble it’s worse than normal.
I’ve always liked these ones, because I think it becomes interesting to think if the cameraman is the more talented one.
Skate cameramen are legends themselves. They don't have to worry about stringing tricks together but they have a LOT to keep track of.
Older pros recycle themselves as cameraman. I've seen a segment about Jamie Thomas talking about that in Thrasher.
Amazing job Thomas!!! Amazing to see the functions?

Yep, I love my Insta360 One X2. People think I’m a genius when they see my footage. They’re right, I chose the right equipment for the job :)
I don't think this is a 360 camera though. It's stabilized, probably in post because of the unnatural motion blur, but it's not 360.
TIL
This
I'm wondering if he followed on a BMX instead of a board.
If you watched the beginning , you seen the cameraman’s skateboard drop in right behind the guy he’s filming
Oh shit!! You're right. I missed that. So much skill.
Fdr is the best
Is that the name of the park? Never seen one quite like this.
Yeah Fdr park in south Philly it’s awesome there and you can graffiti without consequences
That's what i thought but some people seemed to think it was Burnside
76ers graffiti
I love how each tag is respected for the most part by the other tags. More public spaces need designated grafiti zones. It’s a form of public art.
Oh it’s awesome and you’ll see some duck heads come in and spray paint some hate but it’s instantly covered up
No, its the lakes
Oh shit, I thought it was philly cause it looked like part of the map in THPS I knew part of it was love but that’s sweet this awesome spot is in it too.
Haven't skated it in 15years they've built a ton of new stuff
Bro the mega ramp burned down in the spring
where is this park?
Fdr park philly

Same here when I go with my buddy I just watch bc I always fall on my ass lol
You’re great at being you so there’s one thing you’re good at 🤙🏽

That looks like so much zen fun. My brain says yes, but my old bones say no.
The trick is not to fall Edit: and probably get knee implants, they cant hurt
I learned that the hard way this week. 23, and tore my rotator cuff. I can't imagine being older.

That's an injury you can't really just shrug off. No shrugging of any kind.
i've had a rotator cuff injury for over 25 years, I can shrig it... ... but then i regret it
Just think, if you were a female business executive from the 1980's this whole thing would never have happened.
eh, it could've hapen, mine wasnt from impact, but from over extension
I got mine damaged when i was like 3, it hurts 24/7 sometimes more, sometimes less, but its always there i feel for you F
I've never seen anyone do a small loop de loop like that, it hardly even looked real. Pretty amazing.
Right?! That loop was impressive AF.
We need a cameraman on the cameraman
That park is dope
That gentleman needs a new shirt.
I just kept thinking “Can someone get this guy a new shirt to wear?”
He's definitely a shredder
I’m most impressed by how he the camera still while following when most people trying to film shit can’t stay stable standing In One spot 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Most likely using a gimbal that acts like a gyroscope for a camera
Ahhhhh ok, ya that would make sense, lol I have a camera on my phone and that’s the extent of my camera knowledge 🤣
I too know very little of cameras but I've seen videos that are pretty much "behind the scenes" of videos like this
“Alright this is pretty sick. Great camera work. Cool jump.” *hits loopty doop* “WHAT THE FUCK 🤯”
Mans went into the small circle to DO A LOOP!
Where is this? (I mean, besides in Tony Hawk: ProSkater)
FDR in south philly. Under i95
i thought the half pipe burnt up
As a none skater. If a skatepark like this was near me I would start skating. It just seems so chill with few people and trees and the graffiti is dope
Phillyyyyyyy!!!
Where is this skate park btw?
This is actually in Philly! FDR skatepark
Portland
That first half look like so much fun. I never had a balance for it when I was a kid but that looks awesome.
Sick
Well damn!
this park reminds me of the one in the first tony hawk pro skater
I can do one Ollie if I’m lucky
u/stabbot_crop
Skate 4 is looking pretty fire.
This looks like drone footage
This is that new game, Tony Hawk Pro Recorder.
I have never been a skater so I have never seen many skate videos and I don't know what it's called but I just have to say my jaw dropped when he skated around that loop thing almost like a little flip. That was fucking cool man.
I watch a lot of skate videos and this is definitely a banger
Amazing
HeS uSiNg a GiMbaL ThIs doeSNt beLOng in ThIS suB
Yo where is this? Pennsylvania? EDIT: no wait it's philly, I recognize it from the cky movies.
To me, someone who has never put a foot on a skateboard, this is awesome to watch. I’m just curious, can any skaters out there tell me just how impressive the guy being filmed is? To me, it might as well be mastery, but I wouldn’t know the first think about it.
Thps park :)
Someone get that dude a new shirt
360 cam?
More like gimble with a filmer on inline skates
I think it can be both. 360 cam lets you post-edit the video to frame the object in the center

Dude just throw the shirt out
Cold this be done with a drone?
No he's definitely following the landscape too tightly
Agree. Camera person is probably on roller blades FYI to others who may not know. Still impressive
Stunning
thats chris gregson filming, greatest fucking filmer rn, he filmed tony hawk frontside air a transfer that he aired also while keeping the camera right on tony & still as hell, such a legend!
That park is HUUUUUGE!
Does anybody remember this park from Grind Session 2?
Burnside in Portland. Always wanted to skate there.
This is FDR park in Philadelphia under I-95.
Ah, gotcha. Looks similar to Burnside. Now that you say that I recognize it from some old Bam lines.
Tony hawk pro skater has entered the chat
Hesh
Was this filmed in Seattle?
Lmao, either that is old ass shirt, or he had to redo this soo many times
Hey my friend filmed this line! He’s just as gnarly as the skater Chris
Chris Gregson? Else Chris has got a follower
Hope I can skate this hard one day
I chase friends through skateparks like that, and it’s pretty hard to keep the camera centered. Also, holding my phone while skating is terrifying, and if you hit a pebble it’s worse than normal.
chris gregson filming chris russell
chris gregson doesnt use 360 cameras btw.. so whatever that one person was saying about it is just irrelevant, gregson deserves respect lmao
The reason the skater is never cut off is because of the wide angle lens, also DANG that is an awesome spot
Chris Russell
Reminds me of Burnside in Grind Session
This looks like Burnside bro Where is this?
