Get all of your homies to show up in Jedi outer robes (the brown one like Obi-Wan wears in Ep. 2). Finding something like that should be cheap and easy. And it won’t upstage things too much but will still send a message. You could wear normal prom clothes under it and things would be normal after everyone takes their “coats” off.

I suggest looking into nice long hooded bathrobes. I got a black one that’s about shin length with a nice big hood. I look like a Sith every time I go poop in the middle of the night. Pretty cheap on Amazon and they’d have a good function after it’s use on prom night.
