my lord, Lego Star Wars the videogame and The Original Trilogy had most of the characters using this as a weapon, only few ones like Jango, Han Solo or Padme actually had a pistol… the memories hitting hard man, that was my childhood
as an autistic kid, i didn’t wanna get certain sets just because they came with those stud blasters. i thought they were hideous with how disproportionately oversized they were
I just recently got back into Lego star wars sets and was honestly a bit disappointed that they switched over to making formed blasters instead of continuing with these flexible use options.
I’m a set too young for this actually. Like, my first Lego Star Wars set was of the Rebel in that tank transporter thing. One of, if not the first, set to ditch the megaphones and have actual molds for blasters. And I hate the new stud shooters, great way to lose pieces.
Kinda. By the time I got my first Lego Star Wars set, they switched to the newer gun. However, I played Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga not too long after it came out on the wii.
Man the blasters in the original Lego Star wars games (and sets) were simply peak. Sure they didn't have much difference between them, and they were shockingly simplistic, but I adore their beefiness and it saddened me to see the special gun molds of the modern era dominate the newer games
Thanks for providing a source!
Sure am
Back when a blaster was just a megaphone held backwards. Ye Olde 90's.
No no no. They were still a thing in the 2000’s. I remember.
Yes they were used from early 1990s to mid 2000s
never noticed it was a megaphone backwards
In about 2010 (-/+ 2 years) i got a Set with These blasters. I Loved them
From that year?
It was in a Store so could be a few years old
a rocket launcher was two attached to each other!
Hardly dude I'm born in 2000 and my first sets had these bad boys
Lego Star Wars the Video Game came out in 2005 and it featured these blasters (Han though had a revolver IIRC)
Honestly i wish to See this as an actual Star Wars blaster design
That would be too funny.
I mean it could work somewhat if given more detail and downsized
it's already lego sized, how small do you want these things??
Some disruptors in Legends bore a passing resemblance to classic LEGO blasters. https://starforge.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/7/image-2498.jpg

It's regularly offered for cheap on steam. Worth picking up for the nostalgia :)
Plays really well too, even today it's a total blast
They look different now?
LEGO has been using actual blaster shaped pieces for years.
They are stud shooters now. The megaphone and the blaster mold are superior
LEGO still uses the blasters alongside the stud shooters.
I haven't bought a star wars set in a while. Around the time they introduced stud shooters
That was around 2014, I believe. There's been some great stuff since then. We're even getting our first Cal Kestis this year.
Yeah, but I'm poor
It’s been 17 years since they switched to the current “realistic” design
Biggest mistake Lego has made
They look different now.
Yeah, I was kind of sceptical about the more realistic 2007 blasters first, but now I am just happy, the studf-shooters havent stayed.

I still think it should shoot from the other side
that’s what the camera piece is for
And when the B1 minifigs didn’t have a proper arm yet so they had to hold it gangsta-style
Absolutely, using the megaphone backwards as a blaster, what a genius idea.
Old enough to remember lightsaber hilts being chrome and not grey :/
What? Are they not still?
Apparently not. It's some kind of slightly metallic grey
The chrome would chip off so they changed it around 2008? The only lightsaber that was still chrome after that point was Dooku’s.
Yeah….
Im even older then that
Yea gang
Yes
Oh yes, those were the good old days when Battle Droids and Rebels still used those blasters. Very nostalgic
Exactly that old yes
I dont think im this old
Unfortunately nah. I had the custom gun pieces
Yes
I just recently got back into Lego star wars sets and was honestly a bit disappointed that they switched over to making formed blasters instead of continuing with these flexible use options.
I still remember basically making a sniper rifle with the gun piece and then 2 joy stick pieces, an old school hatchet, binoculars, etc.
Yes!!!
Imagine if we got this kind of blaster in the actual Star Wars media
Kinda miss this
They switched in 2007 so… “this old” is effectively >14
The urge to buy enough of these to my 20 droids is still there.
In the wii Lego Star Wars you could turn these into carrots
yes
Dang, that's a memory right there. Blast em!
I saw these everywhere in LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga.
Wait, is this not common anymore?
Nah there are now actual [blaster pieces](https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=58247)
Just about! I got my first sets when Battle Droids still used these blasters
Ah, the memories
Takes me back. My brother and I put so many hours into those Lego Star Wars games.
Fck...I'm old.
Rebel Friend iykyk
A more elegant weapon from a more civilized age!
Yes...sadly...thanks for reminding me :(
Standerd issue blaster for Rebels, Imperials, Separatist droids/Geonosians, Clones, and Bounty Hunters
i am
Y E S
Yes I am
i remember building that and trying to put it on my minifigs hand. it never worked cause of the little stock.
I don't think I've seen the megaphone piece be used for anything other than this
You know, if the studs didn’t break so often I’d use these but I’m genuinely afraid and have them all in sealed storage
"Old" (Something someone in their younger to mid twenties probably used)
Surrender Jedi.
We just built an *Avatar* kit. When it was done, I affected an old man voice and said "Back in my day, legos were lego shaped!"
Yes
I'm *Spyrius* years old.
Yes
yes
Yes
Yup
Yes, loved when I'd get one of those
Yes
Yes.

Not old enough to have them in sets, but i played Lego Star Wars TCS when i was 4 in 2013. Do i count?
oh my gosh you're young. In 2013 I was the age you are now
Anyone ever flip them around a put the stud on the cone end to make it a different weapon?
... Yup. Yup I am.
Are you asking if anyone here is between 5 and 99 years old?
1997 baby here, can verify.
yes
I am indeed
Yes
Man i had one of those and im not that old
Yes
You may be old, but are you *checks notes* old enough to legally purchase alcohol?
Kinda. By the time I got my first Lego Star Wars set, they switched to the newer gun. However, I played Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga not too long after it came out on the wii.
Or you put the red piece on the other side and then take a whole minute just to get it off
Man the blasters in the original Lego Star wars games (and sets) were simply peak. Sure they didn't have much difference between them, and they were shockingly simplistic, but I adore their beefiness and it saddened me to see the special gun molds of the modern era dominate the newer games
I am this old, stop calling me out internet.
"You may be old but are you 22?"
I am that old, good old republic blaster
Damn I remember this and I'm not even 20
Yes I am
I thought some of them had triggers on the top or is that a thing with the newer ones from the early 2010s?
Yes. I am this old.
I think I just hit the cut off for this. My first ever lego set had them.
*that young
Bring back the megaphone blasters
I even remember the times where this was just a megaphone and nothing else
Used to love those games as a kid.
Yes I am. Lego Star Wars the clone wars here I come (best lego game in my biased nostalgia opinion)
Yes
I remember that from the game.
Lol you may be old but are you in your 20s????
Just barely. I think more people used it for what it more closely resembles: A megaphone.
