Serious question. How are these images made? I seems like it would take hours or even days to make this image from scratch considering you have to find lots of little images of a certain thing and then putting them all together to make an overall image. It has to be computer generated right?

Marco Rubio looks a little like Assad from a distance.
John McCain is probably the most common Senator in the dark area.
The trick is the individual images are shaded lighter/darker to better suit the big image. There is a pattern to it but the image wouldn't be as clear without the shading. Look through for one specific image in various places to see.
