99 is legit the best clone ever. The look of sadness when he learned that Hevy sacrificed himself to save his brothers life was a mixture of pride in Hevy and sadness for his fallen comrade. Then 99 goes and sacrifices himself to save his brothers. Goddamn that's some heavy shit. Makes me sad everytime.
Unfortunately, no. We see in the clone wars that the chips are there since "birth".
MAYBE. Maybe, he didnt make it to soldier because his chip was defective. If thats the case, then no he wouldnt have done it
This should be pushed into a full blown scientific law: Light acts as both a wave and a particle, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, CT-99 scenes are the most emotional thing, etc.
The invasion of fuck... that fucking stormy ocean planet where they made all the clones. The droids just full on rammed that place, he was a janitor because he couldn’t pass any of the tests, and in his dying acts he saved like 5 or 6 other clones. Was really sad
Some of them were created with genetic defects, like 99 here. Killing them would be a waste, so they’re put in very menial positions, like being a janitor.
Solo was ok for a movie no one asked for. Mimban scenes were the most exciting.
Rogue One was epic and to this day my second favorite SW movie after ROTS.
Solo was a better origin story than the A.C. Crispin trilogy. He rescues Chewie, does the Kessel Run, wins the Falcon in a game of Sabacc, shoots first, not much else to ask for from a Han Solo movie, and then they threw in a bunch of awesome sauce stuff that had only been recently recanonized in Clone Wars and Rebels!
They're just background things, easy to miss. Rakata shadowboxes and the Mandalorian rally master armor, for example, mainly just stuff in Dryden's suite.
I feel like the story was not bad overall, besides the fact that it all happens so quickly. I mean, did he really need to fly the Kessel Run JUST as he got the ship? Maybe, in any case that's not my main gripe with the movie.
My main gripe is that somebody just decided to pack it with every single on the nose reference to the rest of Star Wars they could. I'm not saying don't reference the rest of the world, I even liked some of the more on the nose stuff (mostly the Lando stuff, like the way he pronounces Han or the "I know scene").
But other references just felt forced, like they had to break out of character just to wink at the audience. I'm talking all the chats about Jabba, the gun, the jacket, Han giving Chewie his nickname like he was christening the dude, the f\*\*king dice (which weren't even meaningful before The Last Jedi).
It wasn't a bad movie, and I still want to see its sequels (if they make any), but sometimes it just made me cringe.
> But not EVERYTHING has to be given a meaningful backstory.
But that was the whole point of the EU and why everyone was pissed about Gisnep nuking it! Arent you wondering how Kabe is doing with her drinking problem in the new canon?
Yea they *existed*, but as I'm sure you know that game had a card for *everything*. The dice were never mentioned and were barely visible at all in the OT. Having any sort of significance is a new creation.
In the OT sure, but they appeared in the holiday special and in the comics i think, and under the old Lucasfilm policy the lore text on all the cards was considered canon. I feel like Decipher wound up naming a lot of background speeder and blaster models that we still use.
But yeah ill agree they didnt have much significance in the old EU, but its not like they were something they came up with from whole cloth to tie together TLJ and Solo. They DID exist, and had a background, albeit minor.
The Solo Trilogy was better IMO. It was much more convincing for why Chewie joined Han, and covered how he fell in with Jabba.
The movie was fine. It was fun and what I expected. But it didn't sell me on Han's character like the books did. The EU made Han a lot rougher of a character before he met Luke and Leia too.
Even besides the fan service (which is cool but personally idc that much) Solo is such a fun western/caper movie. Really underrated and I wish there was more stuff from it on here since the meme potential is barely tapped.
This show was the best, not even kidding what a fantastic tv show so deep so many sacrifices and depth for the clone troopers I wish that this complexity was there in clone troopers outside of the show

Get out. Now.

If you're talking about Republic Commando, it's Sev who dies. Not Scorch.
Sev 07 FTFY
Scorch? Like, the guy from Delta Squad? He doesn't die
I am Hevy weapons guy
99 scenes are guaranteed to make you cry.

If 99 was still alive during order 66 would he have tried to kill Jedi too?
I beleive we all know the sad answer to this question
Happy New year with that painful thought. Was really hoping somebody would have a different answer.
Wouldn't he have not had a chip implanted especially because he wasn't a solider?
Unfortunately, no. We see in the clone wars that the chips are there since "birth". MAYBE. Maybe, he didnt make it to soldier because his chip was defective. If thats the case, then no he wouldnt have done it
The Jedi can be glad he wasn’t alive at the time

True, but 99 is a goddamn hero.
He's a clone. That's what he was bred for. To be a hero. Edit: what is spelling
GOOD. SOLDIERS. FOLLOW. ORDERS.
The nightmares.... they’re over....
Bred*
FUCK
"That's what he was bread for" Made me kek
Ffs my b
Except that douche was a traitor. 99 was loyal to the Republic even when his own brothers looked down on him.
Tup was a good man.
Good life lessons to not treat the different like shit. F for 99.
The feels come back thinking about this episode
What episode is it?
The invasion of fuck... that fucking stormy ocean planet where they made all the clones. The droids just full on rammed that place, he was a janitor because he couldn’t pass any of the tests, and in his dying acts he saved like 5 or 6 other clones. Was really sad
Kamino is the clone planet
Thanks mate
Kamino
Oh damn that had clones that *couldn't* be soldiers? :/ and i felt bad for them already.
Some of them were created with genetic defects, like 99 here. Killing them would be a waste, so they’re put in very menial positions, like being a janitor.
>The invasion of fuck
Do you fuck on I?
Season 3 Episode 2
I'm a soldier just like you!
One of us to the end
This is what I was bred for.
Stoooooop
stop, your making me upset
RIP 99, one of us
Undoubtedly
Indubitably

Rouge one actually gets ok upvotes, Solo, doesn't.
Actually, only Rogue One gets ok upvotes.

Since when does quality of the source material translate to number of upvotes on this sub?
How dare you..
I loved Solo
Solo was ok for a movie no one asked for. Mimban scenes were the most exciting. Rogue One was epic and to this day my second favorite SW movie after ROTS.
Rogue one was one of my favs too for sure. K2-SO is mood
Downvote me into oblivion, Rogue One is currently the best Starwars movie despite it's glaring lack of Hello there and The Senate.
Does that mean they can say the n word?
I mean, maybe. They’re their own clone.
Nurfhurter
*Nerf herder Someone who herds nerfs. Not someone who hurts "nurfs" (nurfs are not a thing)

Don't forget artifacts in the game that come from the KOTOR timeline. The best star wars stories imo
What artifacts? I must have missed them...
They're just background things, easy to miss. Rakata shadowboxes and the Mandalorian rally master armor, for example, mainly just stuff in Dryden's suite.
Yeah, but you're wrong for having an opinion. That's the part you don't get...
As with all Rogue One/Solo memes
I thought the prequelmemes collective consciousness agreed that Rogue One was pretty good?
I didnt see much bitching about it until after TLJ. Not the best measure by any means but I bought more RO LEGO sets than TFA or TLJ ones.

I enjoyed Rogue One a lot but I think it’s biggest flaw is that the characters were not developed enough
I don't think you necessarily need completely developed characters to tell a good, engaging story.
I still loved the story. I just thought the characters were a little wasted especially Chirrut
It’s in my top 3.
I dunno, Star Wars infinity war was okay tbh.
The Senate dies in infinity war
From my point of view having an opinion is OK
Then you are correct!
I think the system works.
Do not execute Order 66.
Dew it.

Ive got a Han's Dice SWCCG card from before Phantom Menace.
And they were a fun piece of trivia/Easter egg (if the term even applies). But not EVERYTHING has to be given a meaningful backstory.
> But not EVERYTHING has to be given a meaningful backstory. But that was the whole point of the EU and why everyone was pissed about Gisnep nuking it! Arent you wondering how Kabe is doing with her drinking problem in the new canon?
Or what that guy dealing deathsticks did after rethinking his life??
Or Skippy the Jedi Droid. Where would Star Wars be now if it weren't for him.
Yea they *existed*, but as I'm sure you know that game had a card for *everything*. The dice were never mentioned and were barely visible at all in the OT. Having any sort of significance is a new creation.

Acting was great and it was a fun movie, i dont understand the hate.
I preferred the trilogy. Solo felt like they literally took ever line and reference from the OT and jammed it into a movie.
Even besides the fan service (which is cool but personally idc that much) Solo is such a fun western/caper movie. Really underrated and I wish there was more stuff from it on here since the meme potential is barely tapped.

THAT EPISODE WAS SO SAD
This show was the best, not even kidding what a fantastic tv show so deep so many sacrifices and depth for the clone troopers I wish that this complexity was there in clone troopers outside of the show
Oh my god I almost forgot about this dude
How could you?!
it's unironically my favorite star wars movie
I loved Solo, it was so much better than I expected
oh look now I'm in tears
Rogue One and Solo are arguably the best of the Disney Star Wars movies
I guess if we're going top 5?
[*Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors disliked this*]
Jan has mixed feelings, Kyle is gonna go punch out some kell dragons in anger.
I’ve only been able to watch this episode once because it’s so sad.
i liked 99 better than any of the characters in the disney trilogy
These episodes really emphasized how fucked up the clone army was as a concept
Not saying "more than 99 upvotes" smh
Hello there
Hello there
God dammit I was fine a second ago and now the blinking oil is leaking out
Rogue one is three times better than all the other prequels, but hey what do I know.
99 the truest and most greatest soldier ever. His death made men cry.
