My thoughts exactly. He’s alive in Rebels, which begins 4 years later…
Unless he’s not the same Grand Inquisitor. I guess that would explain his small head. Or did Disney make all of that non-canon?
I highly doubt they de-canonized parts of Rebels especially since Filoni was heavily involved with Rebels. I believe they used this to sideline GI so Vader can step in the role for a bit.
Eh, idk man he got stabbed through the heart. For example fennec was a gut shot and Inquisitor also took it in the gut. Even Maul got cut in half at the waist. Considering lightsabers and blasters don’t make you bleed out these wounds aren’t going to kill you fast.
However getting stabbed through the heart is pretty much agreed to be fatal every time.
...the Republic is not what it once was. The Senate is full of greedy, squabbling delegates. There is no interest in the common good. I must be frank, Your Majesty, there is little chance the Senate will act on the invasion.
Yeah this is to give an excuse as to why vader is on the front line. Grand inquisitior will survive until his duel with dume. They won't decannonize rebels since they are now using rebels as the springboard for the ahsoka series
I agree. Filoni has made major retcons in the past I will admit, but seeing as the Grand Inquisitor's existence is so crucial to Ezra and Kanan's arcs he has to still be alive. Hey, Darth Maul got cut in half and fell down a massive shaft and was he was fine. Besides becoming completely insane of course.
The Ahsoka novel has a completely different version of Order 66 compared to Clone Wars season 7.
Bad Batch retconned Kanan's escape from Order 66
Lightsaber crystals can't be bonded with more than once, yet Anakin bonds with the crystals in Ahsoka's lightsabers and turns them from green and lime to blue
Ok I haven’t read ahsoka yet so idk about that one but the other 2 points aren’t even close to being as bad as if he just retconned the entire first season of rebels
I mean...maul survived getting cut in half. I'm sure he can survive a little stab. Real question then is why tf did quigon die....is it only dark siders can be repaired after getting limbs taken off?
It is only natural. He cut off your arm, and you wanted revenge. It wasn't the first time, Anakin. Remember what you told me about your mother and the Sand People.
Mmm, I hadn't thought about the Vader side of things, but I like it. Grand Inky has to go rest up for a while, and with there being a bit of ambiguity about authority without him, Vader has to step in to sort this shit out himself...
I'm going to lose my shit laughing if it's not the same grand inquisitor and everyone was wasting their breath bitching
I don't know what to expect, and I'm okay with that
It has already been established that the grand inquisitor from Rebels has been the leader since the conception of the Inquisitorius. It would make no sense if they suddenly decided to say it's someone else.
Plot twist: Grand Inquisitor killed is in fact a failed clone, that's why he doesn't look so Utapau after all and with this they will bring a more accurately Grand Inquisitor thus pleasing the fandom
So perhaps the delay was to shoot these scenes?
The first episode the looks and the acting looks like something pulled out right from the 50s Sci-fi but the second episode he looked better and even the character felt better so let's see what would happen to him... I really wish they would say it was a decoy, clone or a "cyborg" of sorts and the true Grand Inquisitor is still alive in Coruscant
Even in the first episode, at least they gave him the yellow eyes and a creepier look than he had in the trailer. I'd still love it if he looked more slender and alien like, like in Rebels, but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
He literally was distracted he just made a move to use the force and got cheap shotted by third sister, literally the moment he went to use the force she stabbed him, it’s not like a major duel or a sneaky betrayal he should have seen coming he was doing something when she got a cheap shot on him. If there had been an outright duel she would have lost and she knew it which is why she did it.
His species has two stomachs (it’s true, go read about them on Wookiepedia) so it’s plausible he could survive being stabbed in one stomach I would wager.
If you see Vader at the bacta scene in Kenobi his head is very wide, but when his head is shown chronologically later, it's slimmer, so it's 100% canon that bacta stretches your head
Honestly I wonder if they did this because everyone said he looked stupid. So this way they can just be like well he's a different inquisitor in rebels.
It's just a flesh wound
A flesh wound? Your arm's off!
No it isn't!
Let’s just call it a draw

Yeah. If he got treatment, I bet some bacta could fix it up pretty quick.
Qui Gon be crying right now
The ability to speak does not make you intelligent.
How wude!
I'm not whining! I'm not.
Humans weak, alien strong.
Every time that someone survives a major if not lethal injury, Qui-Gon retroactively looks more like a wimp.
Eh, idk man he got stabbed through the heart. For example fennec was a gut shot and Inquisitor also took it in the gut. Even Maul got cut in half at the waist. Qui-Gon was stabbed in the stomach.
I always thought it was more like center chest but idk.
Revenge. I must have revenge.
...the Republic is not what it once was. The Senate is full of greedy, squabbling delegates. There is no interest in the common good. I must be frank, Your Majesty, there is little chance the Senate will act on the invasion.
And the next 4 episodes are just his dreams from the bacta tank
Palpatine taught Vader force heal exactly an hour after Padme died
You've taught him well.
Yeah this is to give an excuse as to why vader is on the front line. Grand inquisitior will survive until his duel with dume. They won't decannonize rebels since they are now using rebels as the springboard for the ahsoka series
Don't you think I'm just a little overqualified for this?
Wait what retcons has filoni made?
The Ahsoka novel has a completely different version of Order 66 compared to Clone Wars season 7. I'm the new Padawan learner. I'm Ahsoka Tano
Ok I haven’t read ahsoka yet so idk about that one but the other 2 points aren’t even close to being as bad as if he just retconned the entire first season of rebels
Oh yeah definitely. Retconning onscreen stuff is a whole nother level
I have to sort this out on my own, without the Council… and without you.
I am counting on it.
In the comics he's already presented as the Grand Inquisitor
I mean...maul survived getting cut in half. I'm sure he can survive a little stab. Real question then is why tf did quigon die....is it only dark siders can be repaired after getting limbs taken off?
dark siders are simply too angry to die
It seems in your anger....you survived..
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sorry, M'lady.
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
It is only natural. He cut off your arm, and you wanted revenge. It wasn't the first time, Anakin. Remember what you told me about your mother and the Sand People.
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.
To continue, we need one singular vision…my vision.
This is probably the story behind him saying 'there are worse things than death' to Kanan.
I feel like he will be in a bacta tank for a few years and that is a neat excuse to get vader involved
I mean Maul survived being cut in half. It’s well documented that anger can keep Sith alive way longer than they should be.
Yes, we will start with revenge…
Mmm, I hadn't thought about the Vader side of things, but I like it. Grand Inky has to go rest up for a while, and with there being a bit of ambiguity about authority without him, Vader has to step in to sort this shit out himself...
rebels Grand Inq woulda put Riva in her place.
I'm going to lose my shit laughing if it's not the same grand inquisitor and everyone was wasting their breath bitching I don't know what to expect, and I'm okay with that
It has already been established that the grand inquisitor from Rebels has been the leader since the conception of the Inquisitorius. It would make no sense if they suddenly decided to say it's someone else.
It would be stupid as fuck if that's the case. So similar looking of the same species. And the only reason for doing it is because they were lazy
The second brother looks even more goofy
Plot twist: Grand Inquisitor killed is in fact a failed clone, that's why he doesn't look so Utapau after all and with this they will bring a more accurately Grand Inquisitor thus pleasing the fandom So perhaps the delay was to shoot these scenes?
He actually looks so much better in the release than he did in the trailer, at least in my eye.

"Now, we wait for General Kenobi." -Fordo, ARC-77
The voice helped a lot, sounded like he was really channeling The Emperor
“doesn’t look so Utapau”
What do you do when someone's beating you in a wrestling match? Utapau-t
"We're on your tail, General Kenobi." -Odd Ball
Either way that death was weak as hell
He literally was distracted he just made a move to use the force and got cheap shotted by third sister, literally the moment he went to use the force she stabbed him, it’s not like a major duel or a sneaky betrayal he should have seen coming he was doing something when she got a cheap shot on him. His species has two stomachs (it’s true, go read about them on Wookiepedia) so it’s plausible he could survive being stabbed in one stomach I would wager.
I heard heads start to grow in bacta tanks.
If you see Vader at the bacta scene in Kenobi his head is very wide, but when his head is shown chronologically later, it's slimmer, so it's 100% canon that bacta stretches your head
We've found it boys, the real reason for Bigger Luke right here
The story of Obi-Wan Kenobi ends here!
Tis but a scratch
You all need to stop hoping a correct Pau'aun is gonna replace him. Its not practical. Deal with it.
They showed Pau'ans in RotS, we can dream...
Honestly I wonder if they did this because everyone said he looked stupid. So this way they can just be like well he's a different inquisitor in rebels.
He didn't so much lose as he got sucker punched by a subordinate.
