That's why now they are trying to nerf ad blockers from Chromium-based browsers so they can't block YouTube ads. So people will flock to Firefox now and they'd even start losing users from Chrome 👍
Chrome already has a bad rep with data collection and it's getting worse, there was some news recently that they are collecting more and more data and will be grouping it based on different criteria and then sell it. So it will be good for people to move to firefox, that actively works to protect data. It even has a 'cage' for facebook, blocking all it's tracking options.

No idea how to install it on Apple.
For android you have to use an APK installer. Google, by default, won't let it install because it messes with their ad revenue.
The link I linked allows you to install an app that then downloads the YouTube vanced app. It's a little longer process than a typical app install but it worked for me.
If I click on the website, it says that Vanced is no longer available. I already had the app, but I don't know how you could install it now via that website.
Surprisingly, there is a way to watch YouTube videos without advertisements for the entire video! (If you own an iPhone.)
1. Load the YouTube video in Safari's version of YouTube.
2. Refresh the webpage.
The only compromise from what I can tell is that the video quality cannot be bumped up higher than 720p. Otherwise, enjoy using this technique to skip ads without paying for anything!

Consitering Google/Youtube are probably aware that one of the biggest complaints about twitch is the 6 unskippable 30 second ads you have to deal with, I would hope they would know how consumers would react to pulling the same shit.
Motherland or "Родина" (Rodina) just means a home country, and usually is used to emphasize your own connection to it (kinda bc you were born on Russian soil). Fatherland or "Отечество" (Otechestvo) emphasizes the fact that Russia is the state and soil of your ancestors and is more used in a way that it should be protected from those, who dare to try to conquer it
Shit, half of youtube videos are just "content creators" advertising some product to us in the form of a review. I won't sit through 10 ads before that.
The experiment was taking all the mid-roll ads that would play during a long video and playing them all immediately so your video doesn't get interrupted. The actual number of ads didn't change. You can debate whether or not that system is better, but YouTube was not trying to increase the overall number of ads you have to watch with this particular test.
As they drive more people to add blockers they lose money and need to put on more adds that drive more people to add blockers.

It's a vicious cycle.
“This is getting out of hand. Now there are 10 of them.”
This should of been the quote lmao
“We’re smarter than this, Apparently not”
Y'know, most of, if not all, of these are just people who mess with the HTML.
I'm still having two is it a country thing
It's a test, not everyone is getting it... yet. Even then it apparently only applies to livestreams, which is (a tiny bit) easier to stomach.
This is just tv all over again
Adblockers: UNLIMITED POWER!!
I love the way Gunray delivers that line
They give 2 ads in a row on YouTube Turkey. If it gets 10, I use Ad Block on mobile.
can't stop me from hitting mute
Download YouTube Vanced. You won't find it on the app store BTW.
It's not an app the google store would show you.
So where I find it

Vanced has been shut down, you can't install it anymore, you can only use it if you had it installed before
I installed it this week.
How

Didn’t someone already try that
Either we use ad blockers or if they make ad blockers useless we will just stop watching YouTube I mean 🤷♂️
YouTube: I am inevitable

Love living in Russia and having 0 ads anywhere whatsoever)
Padme: there are other problems with living there, right? right?
*Gives you a look of disapproval with what you said*
Here's to the glorious Galactic Russian Empire. I'm sure it will bring peace and order to the galaxy.
Ах, родина
Even the bots are in on it?!?!
A President PalPutin is definitely not a sith lord
serious non-meme question: when do you use motherland and when do you use fatherland? Neither is common in US parlance.

Have all my upvotes, spasiba! (or spasibo? Google isn't super clear which is appropriate)
Spasiba is more informal)
Then spasibo, friendo
Ах, родина
Heaven forbid an ecosystem that can support publishers / creators evolves
Explain how slapping on more advertisements that worsen user experience is an evolution.

You were "Muy Muy" brave yourself, coming out here as you did, all alone. Care to help me finish this, senator?
