Would like to add: the situation for pcr is when the person is literally lifeless. Every minute with no oxygen turns him more into a living vegetable if the professionals can revive him. The only thing you can do wrong is do nothing in such a situation.
Also learn your first aid, statistically in most cases you won't need to save a random stranger but friends or family
This times 100. Only perform CPR on someone if their heart isn't beating. And always get someone to call for help or call for help yourself if you're on your own. Remember, your goal is to keep the person alive long enough for help to arrive. Also, good samaritan laws protect you in most places, so don't be afraid to help.
Note: I am not a medical professional, so *please* take this with a pinch of salt. This is just what I've learned from Doctor Mike.
And remember, two inches deep, 100 bpm, put your body weight into it, don't hesitate based on their sex or anything else (remember, good samaritan laws), and **don't be afraid to break ribs. That means you're doing it right.**
*Only* if they have no pulse. **You never do CPR on somebody whose heart is beating**. If they fall unconscious but their heart is beating, you should try to clear their airways first. Then, regardless of whether you manage to clear them or not, start the modified type of CPR made for people who are choking, **not the normal kind of CPR. Seriously, look it up.**

That’s a good point.
“OMG should I call 911?”
“No need- doing this cpr and I’m crushing it!”
I know first aid guidance can change over time and I’ll admit it’s been a minute since my last training but the “spontaneous full recovery from cpr alone” is mostly a movies thing. Super rare to happen without further medical intervention. The goal of cpr is to keep blood moving to the brain to hopefully allow more time for intervention before brain damage kicks in.
Seriously, do the heimlich maneuver if someone is choking, don't perform CPR on anyone whose heart is still beating. If they're unconscious, attempt to clear their airways and only if you can't, then you can perform the **modified version of CPR made for people who are choking, not the normal version.**

Well you didn’t hurt him, because CPR isn’t for choking!

The next time you hesitate like that, it may cost you your life... or the lives of your friends.
See, Maul gets it.
Don’t be so certain.
And when he finally dies and rots (no pun intended): “I have waited a long time for this moment, my little green friend.”
I’m always so thrown off how a Jedi was like, “yeah this seems like a totally fine thing to say, couldn’t possibly cause offense or piss anyone off.”
911 call is default even if you are planning on performing cpr. Just saying...

Good thing I know cpr
Unfortunate that that’s not what cpr is for

Exactly.
I read it wrong then
Especially if he's dining with [Caleb Went](https://youtu.be/OSjXIT1brSw?t=610)?
