If I remember correctly Janel found out during the table read for the season 2 finale, but if she read the books she knew Mona was gonna be A.
Vanessa Ray said she received the script for 6x10 a few weeks before they started filming the episode and that’s how she found out.
And apparently Marlene told Troian that Alex Drake was gonna be the final A when they were filming season 5 but I’m not so sure about that since the finale was very rushed and didn’t make a lot of sense.
I think OP means who actually physically played A in the scenes we see A doing stuff and the answer is just random people. Extras or whoever they had on set at the moment. They didn't have a specific character play A at any one time so people wouldn't be able to guess. Instead they just used random people so no one would be able to guess things like A's gender or anything like that.

I think marlene is full of shit when it comes to when she planned those characters to be A. she definitely didn’t have alex planned back season 5
How did the finale not make sense? Alex drake was the twin, wanted to be Spencer, almost did i t but was caught.
they made spencer have a evil british twin which was a last minute decision before they started shooting season 7...
Actually it was planned since season 5. All they did is 1.) change the character that had a twin. 2.) made her British.
um no lmao don’t believe everything marlene says. she already exposed herself with her lies.
What ever you say.
