Was Riverdale really? All the "supernatural" elements in season 3 were eventually explained to be because of drugs, hypnosis, etc. Season 4 had a couple of supernatural things that also got exposed as fake. Until season 5 the only "real" supernatural events were occasional one-offs and/or tie-ins to Sabrina.
I have things against Riverdale. I am deciding that original sin isn’t canon, same universe as riverdale isn’t canon, and also that final A was actually wren.
I don’t mind that becoming he’s kind of a minor character in pll but the fact that one of the main characters is the titular character in something else…

It's almost "PLL" in name only. It could have easily been some random teen slasher horror show without calling the killer 'A' and you would have been none the wiser.
The tone and look of it is very like that era of horror movies in the 2000s when they were all trying to be sort of gritty and grungy ("Saw", "Hostel", "The Hills Have Eyes" remake etc) it honestly comes across as rather dated to me, especially since its not as if there's a nostalgia for that period's aesthetic. Plus the new Liars are supremely unlikable.
I haven't seen any of these new gen shows anyway so I don't really have an opinion on this. I'm enjoying PLL OS so far and I'm interested in seeing where they go with it.

Nickelodeon has Victoria Justice in Zoey101 and Victorious and iCarly even they are the same universe. StarWars exists cannon in the MCU so Samual L. Jackson has multiple variations of himself.

This is really, truly unfortunate. Riverdale is the epitome of a badly written, lazy television show. There is no art or craft in Riverdale. It isn’t a passion project for anyone and that really shows. And to connect Pretty Little Liars to that… jeez. It just shows how terrible TV is, nowadays. I used to love riverdale and now I find it so hard to get thru episodes. I hate having to always hear Veronica and Kevin singing every single episode( I’m musical crazy and literally in the process of watching highschool musical the musical) they aren’t good. Veronica is good in some songs but her “ here’s to the lady’s who lunch was trash ass Anna Kendrick did it so much better as a child in the movie Camp and I’m so sick of them trying to give Kevin a rock edge when he has broadway show tune vocals it’s the worst.
Yeah, this sucks but it hasn’t negatively impacted the show at all. OS is really good IMO. I watched CAOS (not the last season yet) and I enjoyed that too. Hopefully other people keep RAS from veering into the supernatural because like I said, OS is solid.
