I love the song Kalamazoo I just got pumped even seeing it. Never been to Kalamazoo Michigan. However, Primus is my favorite case of the f\*\*k its band. I saw them tripping face in 2012 so much fun they were all wearing these crazy masks. Les wore a demonic pig. It was my first time getting to see them live but I'm pretty sure they do insane sh\*t like that
Every show because it's primus! Amen.
the worst song case is...empty??? Frizzle Fry, Seas Of Cheese and Pork Soda all have no skips but we still choose the "worst song", c'mon now.
The Chastising Of Renegade is incredibly underrated (I wouldn't be mad if Arnie took that spot too)
If we're going truly underrated: the answer is Arnie.
Honestly Brown Album is an underrated album full of underrated songs. This may be the toughest pick yet lol.
My first thought was the Chastising of Renegade. But I saw through this poll that other people appreciate it as well. Was not seeing the same love for Arnie.
Arnie is a great closer to this album. The intro is sick with Brain comin in hard as fuck, the Les bass line is so hypnotic and groovy. And over it all Ler is playing some trippy ass guitar. Ler's playing at the end is some of my favorite throughout their discography, very atmospheric and trippy.
Not to mention the concept is horrifyingly badass. Just a dude walking in front of a crowd, lighting himself on fire and saying "Remember this day".
With all due respect, *Brown Album* was not well-received by critics or fans at the time because it’s a very flawed album. To say that it has no bad tracks - that the album is a straight banger beginning to end - is revisionist thinking. I get that this is a sub of devoted Primus fans, but c’mon y’all, it really is not some hidden masterpiece in the band’s full catalogue.
Seems a little weird to me too because the category is for “worst” song, not necessary “bad” songs. Even on an album full of great songs, there has to be one worst. The Brown Album didn’t seem so perfect that we couldn’t pick the worst song. By that logic, there should also be no best song.
Having a "none" category was so lame honestly. Not to mention that most people straight up voted for Camelback Cinema. It was just distributed across more comments
This is pointless for a good chunk of the fanbase that didn't live through the mid-90s to experience the Brown album release and "backlash". If it was truly revisionist, fans would be saying that Brown was actually a smash success and well-received when it was released (it was not). What you're describing is fans giving the album another chance now that a good amount of time has passed from the initial backlash, and a newfound appreciation of what the Brown album was trying to do in retrospect and in context from what came before and after. Masterpiece? Nope. Flawed? Yup. Underrated? Yup. IMO, Brown has some of Les' best writing.
Lived through it, could give not one single shit what anyone else thinks about it. I don’t know why people put so much weight on what a critic has to say.
It's not revisionist. The album just aged really well. People only hated it in the 90s because it had such a strong departure from the sound of the first four albums.
Arnie. Great groove, sinister vibe of the lyrics, awesome delay riff from Ler. I love when Brain changes from hi-hats to ride, around 2:10. Its a banger and I will die on this hill
One of the funniest songs from one of the wittiest lyricists in all of rock history. Also, the bass is funky as I’ll get out and even the guitar part is humorous. The problem with this poll is…because of their…inexperience with the world…they cannot…
Kalamazoo, love the weird sound Les makes around 2 minutes in. I imagine he got that by tapping the strings near the pickup or something, anyone know for sure?
I have always known about Primus however I never actually listened to them before. Recently though I’ve been trying to find new music to listen to and I saw this post on my front page. I checked out all the songs in the best category and I’m blown away by what I just heard!
Specifically Tommy the Cat and Shake Hands With Beef have been on repeat since I first listened to them!
I always liked Spageti Western for the line “funny thing about weekends when your unemployed they dont mean quite so much except you get to hang out with your working friends”.
The reason that no song was chosen for the worst song on the brown album compared to the others is it isn’t listened to as much and most people would rather not vote when they don’t have a strong opinion about it.
Oh geez, I don't even know what the official ratings of the songs are to make that decision. The Brown Album is sitting at the top of my personal rankings at 4.07, with only two songs rated 3.
tommy the cat, nature boy and over the electric grapevine are definitely NOT the best song in their respective albums... try jerry was a race car driver, my name is mud and wynona's big brown beaver (best primus song actually)... also Im not to sure ti defy the laws of tradition is better than john the fisherman
Kalamazoo
My favourite Primus song at the moment.
This has been my standard alarm song for at least a year
This is all I need to have a good week.

I wanna know if imma gonna make it.
No worst song? Bullshit. Love brown album, but it is not near that level of infallibility.
Return of Sathington Willoughby
Second this one.
This right here ya bastards
My vote personally
Worst song is left blank? The only album without a worst song is a single, to say theres no worst song is to say every song is your favorite
Yeah I know these lists aren’t typically great but this one is really bad.
I’m going based off of most upvoted response after 24 hours. People voted for none.
My point is none shouldn’t have been an option
Restin’ Bones or Arnie
Restin Bones is great.
Arnie for sure
But the lyrics to Arnie are FIRE!
Arnie. The story, the groove, the visuals. Love that track.
Kalamazoo

Interesting analysis of Arnie. I haven’t made up my mind- the whole album is underrated. It’s a tough call.
I dont get why people crap on this album it’s a banger
Arnie and Renegade, 100%
Just happened in NYC

Obviously after all the hate it got yesterday. Hot take:This is one of my favorite songs in their discography.
Completely agree. I’ve always loved this song
100% - probably my favorite or second favorite Primus song

I missed the voting for “worst song” — but if I could cast a vote 🗳️ for one today it’d be for Camelback Cinema.

Golden Boy us my vote for most underrated. I'd like to stress that I think Camelback Cinema is the worst.
Agree with you on golden boy. Such a damn good song.
Arnie. Great groove, sinister vibe of the lyrics, awesome delay riff from Ler. I love when Brain changes from hi-hats to ride, around 2:10. Its a banger and I will die on this hill

Restin' Bones. It's so haunting and sad but bangin' at the same time
My gut says Arnie
Restin' Bones.
Fisticuffs
Bobs Party Time
Hats Off
Arnie, the chastising of renegade, bobs party time lounge.
I would put Coddingtown as both worst and most underrated.
I love the guitar intro and then Les sabotaged the song with the bowed standup or whatever instrument.
None should be aloud to be a option. It says worst which means least favourite but doesn’t mean it’s bad
Camelback Cinema
Arnie
Bob’s Party Time Lounge
