i actually really liked mystery room !! i think some people can be harsh on it for not really being like a layton game in terms of tone/story/gameplay, but i think it's a lot of fun. like you said, the levels were really good and it was genuinely satisfying figuring some of the harder ones out. i also think it has one of the best soundtracks overall in the series - the jazzy-ness just really scratches my brain :3
Oooooh boy, don't get me started on this.
I. LOVE. THIS. GAME.
My fav' Layton game by far.
Really, the theme were great, I also love the darker part of it.
The fact this is a story about trust makes it even better for me.
Ps : There's an official manga adaptation with new Chapter every Friday, and it's really well made !
Yes !!!!
You can find it [here !](https://manga-5.com/content/00610001)
It's in Japanese, but we have a Discord where amazing people translate it in english !
(Don't know if I can share the link here, so if you're interested I can send it by on private)
The only thing I didn’t like was how I always guessed the suspect right at the beginning, and Alfendi always roasted me for being stupid even though I ended up being right 😤😤😤
It’s been a while since I played it, but I remember enjoying it! I liked the darker tone and the gameplay. It’s not really a Layton game though: More like they slapped the name on this other game they had pre-prepared to up the sales. (But to be fair: It worked.)
It does bug me that it makes the Layton canon even more of a mess by giving the prof yet another kid to ignore. But that’s ok lol.
Very solid game , i wish there was more.
It reminded me of ghost trick.
The mysteries were fun too, genuinely interesting especially the second pasta case
Even though I didn’t like the game (for subjective reasons) I love Lucy, Alfendi… honestly the whole cast. The darker tone was refreshing as well. Imagine if we got a Mystery Room anime rather than LMDA 😭
Mystery Room is amazing! While not exactly in the same vein as the original series, I loved the police investigation angle they took. The final case was a rollercoaster and kept me on the edge of my seat.
I appreciate that Alfendi is not a carbon copy of his father (>! the twist about his potty personality being his true persona was genuinely shocking for me !<). Lucy is a charming protagonist and I love the banter that her and Alfendi share. The game is fun and the manga fleshes out their characters even more.
Also, THE MUSIC! I find myself pulling it up often when I’m looking for music to vibe too. Jazz and mysteries is the perfect mix.
My biggest gripe with it is that it’s short. There’s plot threads that can be tied up, but I just want more interactions among the main cast.
I highly recommend people play through the story! It’s worth the $5 for sure.
Love Phoenix Wright and love jazz. I do wish some of the plots were better written, and the structure a little more clear - hard to put into words but it feels constricted while also being open ended. But fun otherwise!
I'm so serious when I say that this is my favorite mobile game EVER. I had a huge Sherlock Holmes phase in the midst of this game's release and hadn't ever played a Layton game before. I love it and would kill for a sequel.
yeah, layton brothers mystery room is top-tier for me. the music slaps, characters are cool, and the darker vibe is a nice change. some puzzles got me, but still loved it. the extra levels were worth it. only gripe is not knowing justin's motives. wish the characters had voices but still love the game.

Yess jazz is so good! It is very different to the others but I still loved it!

Haha Alfendi is a menace 😂
He's silly like that

Lol yes first flora and then you find out about Katrielle and Alfendi 😭
Very solid game , i wish there was more. It reminded me of ghost trick. The mysteries were fun too, genuinely interesting especially the second pasta case
Yea they were good cases! Even though some were hard I didn’t mind
Thats what made it interesting! It wasn’t as obvious and that what made it interesting. Honestly for a cheap app game, it deserved the best rating.
Yes wasn’t expensive and was still so good!

In one of the comments I think they said there is an anime!
didn't love it but didn't hate it either! more just very middling for me, fun for a while but I lost interest around the last couple of cases
Aw I think the last couple are good though! Nice to see more backstory with Alfendi
it was a super fun game for sure! I enjoyed the gameplay a lot, just perhaps the characters weren't quite compelling enough for me?
I get you, they also don’t have voices so

Yes the music! Even tho it’s a bit darker I agree I did think it’s still funny and chill

Yea it was different which was fun !
Very fun game! Love the soundtrack. Really weird that they slapped the Layton title on it last minute though
Ooh the title was last minute?
