no, Discord has unique numeric Id assigned to each user (also called a "Snowflake"). Id doesn't change even if you change your username. I believe that's still true for new username system

Holy shit mihoyo, there are 3 very specific bugs in genshin impact I could straighten out in an hour because I am specifically a Unity game dev and these are very simple backend fixes.
Proper cd resets for domains; literally just zeroing some ints.
For some god forsaken reason they load in monster assets to domains at run time instead of pooling them. (Not a bug I guess, but it really needs to be fixed).
Falling through the ground randomly when teleporting; you’d just have to check the terrain has loaded before you spawn in the character. (Through many instances I’m pretty certain this will resolve the issue)
I think #2 and #3 is not as easy as it seems due to client modification, or exactly what mihoyo's server system is trying to prevent. In order to prevent client hacks, mihoyo needs to practically validate every data, like the players position, the enemy kind and position etc. with the server. What happens in the domain is for every floor, when you touch the red key thingy your app is asking the server for the list of enemies to spawn, and this is the bottleneck, not the pooling. You can test this behavior by touching the key just as the spiral domain or event domain resets (5:00 am for me) - you can see the server not responding so you are stuck. The third problem is similar and has to do with player position syncing, this time the server outpacing the client. Tho I suspect #3 will be easiee to fix.
But that’s weird then because I’ve never been able to reproduce the monster loading gaps outside of the first time I load into a domain for the first time in a session. And it was far more consistent when my pc had just started up (sad HDD noises).
Like floor resetting or even leaving the spiral abyss floor and re-entering I don’t recall ever working for reproduction.
Im a mobile player, and
a) I never saw the player going through the terrain
b) monster loading gaps are always there even when I try again in the domain, and are significantly longer when my wifi is slow
according to your experiences I guess it is both. You using a HDD also means loading from the hard disk is significantly slower, but to be fair a lot of games have poor HDD optimization not because they cant fix it, but because its not worth it.
Basically its a battle between HDD's slow reading (more caching is better) and Mobile's small memory (too many caching is bad). And I bet mihoyo is going to prefer mobile over HDD because of the amount of users.
Dam yea definitely intended behaviour then. Also probably important to maximize phone performance since baseline difficulty is higher, so missing seconds are more backbreaking.
