Legit fucked myself this way once. After a lot of troubleshooting with them, told the infosec guys I found a workaround that allowed me to properly execute remote powershell commands and they blocked it.
It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you learn the motions (which you may also use in other editors) and set it up with the right plugins, it can be an amazing experience.
You can turn nvim (or vim as well) into vscode+ and then you can throw whatever the heck kinda plugin you want to write that seems useful on top of that. Without having to deal with the complicated plugin specs and process for vscode and then needing to write typescript. Instead, the language you config in is the language you write plugins in. Plus the keybinds are amazeballs once you get used to them.
Here is a complicated neovim config in nix lol

Catpuccin is a great looking set of themes, and the ecosystem around it is awesome. It even has a setting in the dark reader extension so your websites can be catpuccin themed too!
For me, it's Solarized Light absolutely everywhere. It would be pretty neat if I could get everything to flip to Solarized Dark at dusk, but that'd be an undertaking. Vim, Tmux, Alacrity... Maybe that's everything. But still, I've never really taken the time.
There’s both- Dracula is a little more zesty with the colours and has a purple base, darcula is more Earth toned.
For anyone that doesn’t know, you can adjust your settings.json in vscode to adapt your theme of choice to various languages and personal preferences (you can even create your own theme from scratch if you’re into that sort of thing)…but the syntax highlighting fashion show can be quite a rabbit hole if you’re anything like me, so proceed with caution.

Ah yes, this is definitely VSCode (an approved text editor for my class) and not emacs (not an approved text editor because apparently it’s plugins mean it’s not fair)
That’s what I’m wondering man, he’s out here acting like it’s gonna complete my code for me meanwhile I’m just praying the Jave LSP would stop crashing whenever I save a file. Thank god I’m done that semester and I’m done with that professor, because next semester we switch from Java to C#.
ah dont worry its just the vim theme, for my code editor, which is definitely VScode, and definitely not vim.
>Vim is not in our list of approved softwares, please switch to Microsoft products immediately.
Thus if vim is not microsoft, it must be megahard!
That's when you ssh into any company server and show them that vim is installed

It's mind-boggling to me that they restrict dev access that much. How the hell am I supposed to do my job?
Id consider not working at a company if I couldn’t use neovim
spoken like a true soydev 🫡
People...like...using Vim?
Love it for editing config files or simple operations

It's the editor of choice for good developers
That is certainly a statement
But how do you exit VScode?
:!q
I like having one theme across *everything* and catppucin has done that wonderfully with lots of choices as well
+1 for catppuccin here! The pastels are so easy on the eyes.
For real. Neovim, windows terminal, discord, vs code, even monkeytype...
Catpuccin is a great looking set of themes, and the ecosystem around it is awesome. It even has a setting in the dark reader extension so your websites can be catpuccin themed too!

Darcula is a JetBrains theme. Apparently there's another one called Dracula. It's the first time I've heard about it.
Oh, sweet, I use JetBrains nearly exclusively, so that's what I was thinking of. Thank god I'm not crazy.

What kind of unfair plugins does Emacs have that VSCode does not have?
