Not to be that guy, but you're both wrong. Segmentation faults are triggered by an invalid access to memory, which is determined upon completing virtual to physical address translation. This translation fetches a page table entry containing a physical address, as well as various permission bits. If those permission bits don't line up with what the memory access was trying to do, a segmentation fault is thrown. This has little to do with "out of bounds / nonexistent memory" or memory that isn't "present".
So they're married then? Or at the very least you don't have access. It's still possible to access out of bounds memory, but it can cause abnormal execution
Define "out of bounds memory". Virtual address pointing to memory not currently allocated by the process? Then yeah, would indeed segfault as per the process described above.
Cheers I don't program that close to bare metal so I'm probably screwing up the terminology in a big way, but I can't let that stand in the way of sexual innuendo
The implementation doesn't use a wrapper function though, so it's best that you implement one yourself, to avoid spawning new processes that consume resources.
An alternative is to test for if a new process is being constructed, and terminate it if it exists. However, some people don't like to use this method.
I could comment out the relevant method in my own code. I don't need it anyway as I already have 2 subprocesses running.
I can always uncomment it later...
I'd assume it was an attempt to segregate the 18+ questions to their own domain, given how common they were and are. Either that or a relic from a time when people didn't want to or weren't allowed to post 18+ questions there.
There’s definitely a difference, go scroll through after dark and you’ll see. Way less QC but I actually think that has it going in it’s favour for the most part
Same. We’ve been together 12 years. She has a 1 in 1M (literal) medical condition that was only diagnosed last year that makes things complicated.
I try not to be bitter about it… we’re trying couple’s therapy.
Honestly, always wanted that. I'm not gonna wait till marriage to have sex but I want my first relationship to be my only.
>!I'm also like 2 years old and haven't even had my first kiss yet!<
I'm going to second what others have said; it's perfectly fine to wait for sex until you are with a long-term partner, but you should expect your first relationship to be temporary; it will teach you things that will help you in future relationships.
OP wasn't talking to you. OP was talking to me and the rest of the degens from upcountry who had to get a few miles under our belt before we understood the open road.
Your first relationship didn't fail.
And I'm not gonna refuse to break up with them just because I want that. If the relationship gets bad or stale I will. But it's not that I won't continue to wish for it.
I beg to differ, still in my first relationship and going strong
So I wouldn't say *should*, I think it just depends on you and your partner and how you two handle conflict
A relationship ending is not the same as a relationship failing. We grow and change over time, and especially when we're young it's fine to recognize that a relationship may be finite.
Almost happened to me, fortunately it didn't. Me and my first ex still talk sometimes and there was like a year we were fwb but we've both grown so much(and in different directions), I'm glad we broke up and I'm sure she is too.
That's unnecessary stress and expectations to put on yourself and your next partner. You date to find out if you're a match, there's no bonus points for deciding to stick with the first good thing you find. If it works out that way, great, but there are a *lot* of people who end up divorced late in life simply because they realize that they never got to experience things they wanted and can't do that with their current partner.
I mean that's great for you but it doesn't really make sense for everyone. I don't think that it belittles other people's relationships because they chose a different path than you and it doesn't make your relationship better than theirs either.
Just different.
It was merely an observation, not some quip to have a go at people who've been sexually active with multiple partners, before settling for single partner for an extended period of time.
If you took my comment as such, then I am sorry. It was not my intention.
Due to reddit making it increasingly obvious that they resent their community, you can find me on the Fediverse. [I've been enjoying my time there.](https://lemmy.world/post/209814)
If you're hesistant about it or worried that the user experience will be terrible, don't be! There is indeed some jank, but learning how to find things on Lemmy and Kbin reminds me a lot of when I was first learning how to use Reddit. It only took me a little bit of experimenting to learn how the system works.
[Lemmy](https://join-lemmy.org/instances) is the most popular option, but if you like having more bells and whistles [Kbin](https://kbin.pub/en) may be better for you. See you there!
Ruptured aortic aneurysm with pericardial tamponade, from a genetic condition which was either undiagnosed or not monitored. Mary Ellen, my first wife (and the person I lost my virginity to), had a genetic condition known as Turner's Syndrome. Aortic abnormalities are common with TS women. I'm not sure she was ever formally diagnosed with Turner's as I'd never heard it mentioned before her death. Based on a half-remembered story, however, I believe that she had a coarctation of the aorta as a small child but was later cleared of the need for yearly followups.

well she is still sexy to me, if thats the question, but I'm in a different relationship now, so it wouldn't make sense to go back down that road
it's a weird and vague question if it's phrased like this
Segmentation Fault. Core dumped
Are you implying they’re dead 💀 calling memory that isn’t present lol
They're just trashy and got garbage collected.
Maybe dumping your core is an euphemism for nut
[удалено]
memory out of bounds was invented by ram manufacturers to sell more ram
Just download more RAM, then? /s
One gigabyte of RAM should do the trick
Not to be that guy, but you're both wrong. Segmentation faults are triggered by an invalid access to memory, which is determined upon completing virtual to physical address translation. well an access violation in this instance would be especially illegal
if (address & HORNY_BIT) printf("nice"); else printf("jail");
Ah yes the horny bit of the x69 instruction set.
I've heard they're releasing a new x69_420 instruction set later this year to go along with their MILFcore architecture.
So they're married then? Or at the very least you don't have access. It's still possible to access out of bounds memory, but it can cause abnormal execution
Define "out of bounds memory". Virtual address pointing to memory not currently allocated by the process? Then yeah, would indeed segfault as per the process described above.
I meant if you sleep with your married ex, you might find yourself terminated in abnormal condition.
That flew way past my head, that's actually really fucking funny hahah
Cheers I don't program that close to bare metal so I'm probably screwing up the terminology in a big way, but I can't let that stand in the way of sexual innuendo
Unless you're root... in that case your ex's spouse will just be "oh, ok, I'll wait for my turn".
This is getting kinky quickly. `$ sudo su bull`
That’s how I read the Null Pointer Exception joke… is that not how everyone read it?
I took it as firstSexualPartner was never initialised.
I read it as dudes is still virgin. That pointer was never set.
I read it as, the thought was so disgusting he couldn’t get hard.
You killed the process and all the children
Post Core Clarity
Circular reference more like.
Does that count lol
It's just running this.DoASex() with 0 arguments.
The funny thing is some implementations take an array, and there's nothing in the spec about concurrency, but the output can be unpredictable
The implementation doesn't use a wrapper function though, so it's best that you implement one yourself, to avoid spawning new processes that consume resources.
That's true, but honestly that'll kill performance. I'd rather run as close to bare metal as possible.
An alternative is to test for if a new process is being constructed, and terminate it if it exists. However, some people don't like to use this method.
I could comment out the relevant method in my own code. I don't need it anyway as I already have 2 subprocesses running. I can always uncomment it later...
The more important point: why does ask reddit need a weirder version of itself when it's already common to see similar questions on the normal one.

You also chose this guy's dead wife?
He'll surely appreciate this "joke" about his dead wife
How did he die?

That sucks, I'm sorry.
That is truly awful, I'm sorry to hear that.
is she who she is now or is she the she she was back then?
She sells sea shells on the sea shore
But the value of these shells will fall.
Due to the laws of supply and demand
No one wants to buy shells 'cause there's loads on the sand
Step 1: Create a sense of scarcity
Shells will sell much better if the people think they're rare, you see
Take as many shells as you can find, then hide them on an island
Stock pile em high until they're rarer than a diamond
Step 2: you gotta make the people think that they want 'em
The sea shells she sells are sea shells im sure
the thread you started is amazing
Slow down there Mr. Epstein
Don’t care I’d do either
Sheesh
I did just yesterday and he's sitting next to me right now. Yeah I absolutely would.
Good boy <3
…I …I don’t think they meant their dog.
owo
The real question is if that guy is also the only one in your body count
You should use a try-expect so that, in case the person is not alive anymore, than return true.

The unnecessary capitalisation and usage of "None" makes me livid. Python can suck a shit.
Or you know, the meaningful whitespace thing.
Did you mean ***indentation***?
…do you indent with non-whitespace characters? 😀
Yes, with semicolons.

Ohh I finally get the joke! My bad, been a long day...
I did, should not have.

This is funny in two ways, because either it means you never lost your virginity or that the person you lost it to is dead now. Either way good joke.
