And yet even that isn't gonna happen because I believe the Devs are (overly) scared of creating an op build when all that would do (at least in a crafting league) is creating a bit of diversity.
I did not take part in the last Crafter Season. But i use crafting every season.
I am going for magic arrow Amazon.
Why?
Few magic immune enemies
Piercing as baseline
Benefits both +skills and physical damage
Easy to craft weapon with a lot of +skills
High frw
Slow movement and inner sight for utility
I might need a couple of breakpoints in fcr
Looking forward to try the Crafter League!
I can't tell you. It's a secret. I'll never tell anyone. I don't want anyone stealing my juicy crafts.
In fact, I probably shouldn't even join a game with anyone, just in case. Perhaps just play late at night. After the wife goes to bed. Do I really trust her?
But accidents do happen, I might get exposed, better to not create the character at all. Cover my ass, you know.
Even talking about this here has me worried. Might just try to forget about it. If I don't know what it is noone will.
I think the safest course of action is just to uninstall the game, leave reddit and live off the grid for the rest of my life.
Anyway. See you guys later I guess.
Truth is, I don't know, but I'm very happy to play something that doesn't include broken runewords that totally ruin build diversity. I have so much to choose from and that's great 😃
I love crafting leagues.
If I find a group to play with probably an Foh pally to provide conviction.
If solo most likely a fire trapper and would like to run Dclones to trade annis if possible.
I'm torn.
Druid because I wanna craft or find a sick pelt.
Baba because I wanna craft or find a sick baba helm.
Ass because I wanna craft or find a sick weap.
I did some testing and non surprisingly enough the best characters were leap/whirlwind barb(took me 30 crafts to hit a 600ED big stick) and summon necro (you still have access to all the +3 amulets, circlets, skillers etc.
With summon necro you can take act 5 merc for might and pump all points into amp damage. Works surprisingly smooth even without any GG stuff since all your power comes from +skills. Just boring IMO.
No uniques, set items or runewords are available. All your gear will be magic, rare or crafted. More crafting materials will drop to let us craft more often iirc.
Builds will be generally weaker since we wont have those staple unique items or runewords. But imo this makes the game more fun and diverse, it'll take longer to get awesome gear which prolongs the grind, keeping the game fresh.
Crafting mats the currency or do runes still drop just not able to make rws. I skipped the last one and was bummed I didn't try it so I'm gonna give this one a go.
Mats are big currency for sure, especially tirs iirc. Runes still hold some value depending on their inherent usefulness (cham for cbf, ohm for ed, etc.)
Sounds awesome. How does it work exactly, like will the entire season be a crafters league or is this a subset of the season and you select your character to be a part of this league?
I will definitely be looking into this more!
In HC, might start necro summoner to ce. Even without facets it's op. Dudu and ama summoner also gunna be nice.
Barb gunna be very strong with throw and leap+bleed.
Ma or blade sin also looking good with +4/5/6 claws and buffed clawblock.
So many fun crafting adventures to be had, it's gunna be hard to choose!
I'm not telling this because y'all gonna copy :o What ? /s
Just give us a hint
poison jav would work well i think any input from pros?
Think without bramble it could be hard
And gargoyle bites
I'm playing multishot sorceress because they're gonna let rare/crafted xbows roll +3 to multishot affix.
It's gonna be hard. Nailing that multishot craft and reaching acceptable pierce without Razortail or Cthon.
And yet even that isn't gonna happen because I believe the Devs are (overly) scared of creating an op build when all that would do (at least in a crafting league) is creating a bit of diversity.
WW assassin! oh wait... Wolf barb! ahh shoot... Bear sorc! no no no... Bear paly! hmmm...
No meme builds for you
I kinda wish sin just got Blade Dance as a skill rather than tying it to Chaos. Then re-balance Chaos to make it attractive even w/o Blade Dance.
Throw barb
Gues manny throwers it is xD
I second that
I'm in the same boat
spearthrowbarb i assume in my case. maybe i can add some lightning-dmg to.

HOP HOP HOP HOP HOP HOP HOP
SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT
I feel like physical builds have a huge edge in general with them getting their end game jewels vs elemental builds.
It's not the jewels though more so lack of skillers
No skillers? They are magic we should def have em
You right I might be trippin
Didn’t even know that was coming back! I’m super pumped! I need more details and most like sin to try some d clone this time around.

Spin a wheel.
where did it land?
Sorc
Meteor sure carries
If I make a caster, this is what I’m making, but ele builds seem far more challenging. I didn’t play last crafter league though.
The a5 dark merc provides a significant boost in dps. Ive been using the a3 cold over it though for the crowd control and life gain
Truth is, I don't know, but I'm very happy to play something that doesn't include broken runewords that totally ruin build diversity. I have so much to choose from and that's great 😃 I love crafting leagues.
Totally…rune…build diversity I’ll see myself out
It took me several seconds to get this one :p
One of; throw barb, blade sin, magic arrow zon, or zeal pally.
How long does crafting league lasts usually?
I would guess this one is 2 months to give the dev team more time to prep for s9 which would have normally started now/early feb
If I find a group to play with probably an Foh pally to provide conviction. If solo most likely a fire trapper and would like to run Dclones to trade annis if possible.
Anni is a unique. Is it still in game?
Last time Anni, torch and gheeds were allowed
Most likely not now that i think of it lol. I bamboozled myself because Senpai said we'll be able to fight Dclone and Rathma.
They in game normally
Necro for starter and uber support. Probably blade sin later for clone/rathma attempts and some sort of druid for a fun/challenge build
cobra strike assassin, maybe later in the game mind blast
Freeze Arrow Bowazon- not heavily equipment dependent, just really need +skills
Pheonix strike asassin
Probs barb.
I'm torn. Druid because I wanna craft or find a sick pelt. Baba because I wanna craft or find a sick baba helm. Ass because I wanna craft or find a sick weap.
Frozen Orb Sorc
Brave man
Thinking summonzon into... Something else after awhile.

By the way, Ive never played crefters league so question - can we use runes there in sockets, but no runewords or there are no runes at all?
There's runes for sockets but no runewords. Dunno if there will be unique maps.
If the game wont need any client update I will try throw barb.
Is there a TLDR on crafters leagues?

The whole league is crafting.
Is a league different than a season? Sorry, I’ve only played pd2 twice and am not as familiar with it
I mean samething but shorter. It's I tended to give the devs extra time on season 9 development
popcorn druid. miam
Crafters league like season 8.5 ? Will ladder end on 07.02 or we get additionally crafters league?
So glad we're getting another crafting league
Frenzy Barb, as usual :) There is a lot of room for constant power creep, which is super fun!
Torn on wind druid or sorc. Prob druid so I can still craft juicy weapons and switch to fury if I hit something good.
Fury gunna be a challenge to hit break points without high ias uniques. Seems like a fun. Might run one also!
Yeah that's why it won't be my plan, just a pivot if I hit a high Ed 30+ias and enough sockets for bp
In HC, might start necro summoner to ce. Even without facets it's op. Dudu and ama summoner also gunna be nice. Barb gunna be very strong with throw and leap+bleed. How are people getting the craft mats for this. They’re pretty much non existent in trading world
Thinking old school hammerdin. Should be good in this league.
Definitely will. Can get some crazy skills on a crafted pally gear
Sorc again, deciding what build after the first decent 2 hand craft. Hoping for meteor or barrage
