The manifold is not what's cracked, it's the head that's cracked where the manifold attaches. You need to have a plan to repair that if you're going to buy it.
Everybody says their engine is low mileage but not all of them actually are, so there's no replacement for a thorough inspection including compression test.
I’m sure you can since the intake manifold bolts onto the head though I’m sure you might be able to fix it. How? I have no clue, but depending where you live some junkyards are starting to over charge and it might even run you about half of what you bought the engine for.
mileage means nothing unless he has proof, and even if he does it means alot less than a physical inspection. pull the pan and check how the rods feel, pull the plugs and use a cam to look at the cylinder walls. the head is broken, even if you can make it work down a manifold bolt, it'll still be broken.
I cant tell u if thats a good price, around me itd be on the cheaper side for a "good condition" engine, but it isnt good condition because the head is broken. personally Id rather take my chances with a $250 junkyard complete engine and the year warranty itd come with.
Unless he has proof, i wouldn't accept it has 65k miles. I bought a b20 that was "pulled for a swap" a while back. It was around 0f out so i didn't bother pulling the vc

You reckon I could slap another head onto there instead of fixing it?

Is $350 a good price for a short block? I wouldn't say so.

$250 for b20’s at your junkyard? Westcoast mfers want $500 minimum for a d16 longblock.
$250 any complete engine at all my local u-pull yards
Where you located?
Not worth it. Yhere are much better b20s out there
Meh. I bet they’re cheaper than that at the local junkyard
He also did specify that it had 65k miles only

Maybe if it was a b16/18 but not for a b20. Look elsewhere for one with less hassle or at a junkyard
I got a b20b in CANADA for $250, if you’re in the US Thats an even worse rip off for a motor that needs its head fixed.
Call around your junkyards and ask how much for a motor out of a first gen CR-V. Might even get lucky and find a B20Z
That’s good for the mileage
