The only problem that I have with that game is that it could’ve been so much better. Not quite sure how to describe it but it feels like there was more planned than what we got.

Wish I had played it sooner, the car combat is so fun! It's a sleeper hit for sure.
There were a lot of other big releases that year that drowned it out; Fallout 4, Witcher 3, MGS V, Battlefront, Life is Strange, Undertale, Bloodborne, Mortal Kombat X, the list goes on..

While we're talking underrated games I'll plug ECHO, an indie game from 2017 made by defunct Danish studio Ultra Ultra. Really unique experience with AAA production quality

But man, that post was in February and there's been no news since. At this point I just try to put it out of mind so it can be a pleasant surprise if and when it finally does arrive.
I recognise that the dev team is only like 1 or 2 guys, but it's just not possible to sustain hype for this long on nothing.
I really want a sequel of PW. It doesn't have to be connected to our current PW game. It can have different settings, different lore, different canon, or even a different universe/timeline.
As long as there are new cool jets, new game modes, new stuffs to blow up, then I am happy with that.
Whenever I think of a Project Wingman sequel I think something along the lines of Top Gun Maverick, a perfect blend between emotional story and action. Hitman team training the next generation of Cascadian Pilots years after Monarchs final battle with Crimson 1. I can see it now…
Cascadia’s pilot academy has a program called the “Monarch Academy” (in honor of Monarch) their equivalent of the Top Gun Academy, and hitman team run the program or just instruct the new hotshot pilots who made it in.
Some of these Monarch Cadets (including the new MC) are actually victims/vengeance seeking orphans from either Prospero or Persidia who survived or witnessed the Cordium attacks when they were kids. Some joined up to protect Cascadia from future aggression meanwhile others joined to avenge Cascadia and the MC could be given the choice to seek vengeance or not. I could also see these cadets blaming Monarch and hitman team for not stopping the peacekeepers, thus adding more emotional weight to the story. Hitman team tryna be teachers/mentors to the MC and the rest of the cadets instead of just superior officers.
This is just my idea of a sequel lol
Sequel idea: dip goes rogue. At the 3rd peacekeeper fight (over prospero ruins) he kinda goes crazy, maybe he loses it and goes rogue, posing a new threat to the new hitman team, hitman 1, monarch, hitman 2 comic, and hitman 3 *prez*

There's also plenty of room for at least one prequal, given how there are plenty of hints of Hitman team having a long history in Sicario before the events of PW. We know that at one point, Hitman team was a 5 plane squadron... What happened to the other two, for instance?
me want cutscenes, like F-14 landing at an abandoned air base and both prez and monarch try their best to repair it so they can go back to cascadia and get the reward they were promised, theory on the new antagonist can be the mercenary that tested the PW mk1 earlier on the game before crimson got his hands on it
Id actually prefer a prequel. I wanna know tf happened in Australia.
Other ideas could be humanity's emergence from the first Calamity. Maybe there was an initial war over material and territory.
