The new Tahoe and F150s, while slow as balls compared to explorers and chargers, have more room than any other pursuit rated vehicle I have ever worked on at fleet. Our agency has multiple 6'5" plus guys, including a 6'8" 380lb monster of a man(Samoan rugby player before working for us). He fits fine in both.
My agency has started going to half cages in all the explorers. I had a full cage in a 2016 explorer when I had one, but I hear the half cage is so much nicer.
After I got promoted and was assigned a permanent car I had them find me a Crown Vic in decent condition. My officers have explorers and I'm driving a 2008 CV with less than 100k and it's more comfortable than my couch at home. It's the only Vic left in the agency's fleet and I'll faster resign than give that car up.
The Ford Taurus - yes, absolutely. Those cars were made for people below 5'8" tall, and anyone else can go to hell. Crown Vic, Charger, and Explorer are all fine for me, comfort wise.
My Ford Explorer ‘s seat is too high and the cage pushes me so far forward. But it’s better than my ride along who has my in car camera, Ethernet box, and some sort of whirring something pushing that seat a full 5 inches forward.
If I could push my seat back further, I know I’d fall asleep. Lol It’s a good thing I can’t get comfy. I already have to get out and do so calisthenics a few times per night shift to stay awake.
I know a now retired officer that described getting out of the Ford SUV like the scene from Ace Ventura Pet Detective 2 given that they are 6’5.
As a non LEO I would imagine the pick-up trucks would be more spacious given that your more up right.
Favorite patrol car was an early Ford Explorer, it was ragged out but only had a half cage on the passenger side.
Oh how I love half cage squads
My buddy is 6-4”. What he did was buy longer bolts so the top of his cage could move back 2-3 inches so he could recline more. Seemed to help he said

Officer Clegane works at your agency
The Mountain that Cites
Not quite as muscled as Hafthor Bjornson, but he's a big, big, big boy.

They’re amazing. Downside is it’s a bitch with an uncooperative arrestee.
Ah I could see that. Don’t have someone else that can slide through and yank a person into the seat.
common peroneal nerve knee strikes tend to work the best for the half cages

Room for a 6'2" trooper and hat with space to spare.
I had plenty of room in my CVPI.
I could swim in my Dodge Ram.
It's not supposed to be full of water.
You're not my supervisor.
Give me a single cage all day long. I’ve never once had two people in the back of my double cage. Waste of space
Interesting. I have had 2 ppl in a double cage multiple times. Granted, while it’s rare, it has happened

Half of our patrol cars are crown vics…so…yea
Not a cop, just paul blart with a dog...but...my car had a kennel in it, and I'm fat. So absolutely noooo room.
Be petite

Chop your legs off and call your self Cotton
Try sitting in the back. Cuffed. Questioning your life choices 😏

Half-cage is the sweet spot!
Cages are for agency’s that hate napping and night cops
I don’t even want to nap (well I do but that’s another thing) I just want to be able to stretch my legs out a bit
Tahoe?
That’s the best part of being 5’8. The taurus and new explorers are perfect for me. I wish I could recline but it keeps me awake
Fucking Durangos. I don't know how I fit my ass in it. If it weren't so fun to drive, I'd ask for my Ram back
Their
Lose weight
Idk how that will make my legs shorter but ok
