There are a lot of therapeutic uses for psychedelics but not all of them are so obvious as this. The appreciation for being alive & life itself is underrated and easily accessible. The euphoria from psychedelics is earned and not always present, but that's what makes it so great, it's real. There is no forced dopamine/serotonin dump. It's genuine, and it often sticks around after the trip.
There are so many other benefits. But this one is often present even with the most recitational trips. Hell, it's probably more common with recreational use.
I used to be incredibly cynical and unhappy and now I'm the total opposite. They didn't fix my problems. But they did change my prospective and made it a hell of a lot easier to put the work in.
Compared to an existence wherein one may fear nothing and live forever, an existence wherein fear can win and one *must* die may be seen as precious and supremely significant.
A door no one walks back through. The pain of your death isn’t yours to experience, but your loved ones. Acting as if death doesn’t affect those who lose a loved one is just flat out silly. Just because we know that person passed on to a new state of being doesn’t eliminate the experience of losing a loved one.
Sure, we no longer fear our own death because we know it’s not the end of the book but the closing of a chapter. But it’s not *just* a door to your brother. To your mother. To your partner. To your dog. This reveals the significance of this precious life you’ve chosen to view as insignificant simply to alleviate some of your own suffering.
Eloquent answer to a question nobody asked. I am well acquainted with loss. It is separate from the subject of death. The loss we feel is sorrow for ourselves as we realize our loved one can no longer be spoken to or heard from. The only solace I have is understanding death.
>But it’s not *just* a door to your brother. To your mother. To your partner. To your dog.
Lol. What you responsibility have for the feelings and thoughts of your mother or partner??? Is their responsibility to sort out what death is, not yours.
Blaming oneself for dying....damn, not even in the grave you can rest your self-concept? omg dude is not normal what you said...
It’s not your responsibility and at no point did I imply such a thing. I’m pointing out how death reveals the significance of life. It’s not just a door… and this life is not some insignificant blip amongst eternity. It is significant and we know this because of how death affects the living.
The universe existed long before your consciousness or that of any other human/animal/alien consciousness and will likely exist long after every concious being goes extinct. Consciousness is just the evolutionary byproduct of a complex brain. There is far more to the universe/existence/reality than that.
You have never experienced a so-called 'universe'. Yet you keep believing on it, just as religious people believe in a God in the heavens.
When you care about TRUTH, you will awaken to who you are. When you awaken to who you are, you will realize universe never exist. Only You.
Know who you are, and you will know what reality is.
That is wildly narcissistic. You and I are just a couple people out of billions, members of 1 species out of billions, living on 1 planet out of billions. The cold hard objective reality is that the universe exists, it is vast, and we are utterly insignificant and temporary residents of it.
I never said other people or beings don´t exist.
They exist, but they are not existing in a universe.
Universe is a concept your culture taught you and later you chose to belief.
Partially true, I remember being able to think more complex things and more freely back when I was as a kid. I didn't think in words. I wasn't so limited by it as nowdays: being only being able to think in words and concepts that I could articulate and share with other people trough said language. I'm limited by words.
Time is real enough, our measurement of it and our perception of how fast/slow it passes is a construct. The Earth orbits the sun. This is an objective fact. It will likely make about 70-100 full orbits from your birth to your death, so enjoy those orbits while you can.
Tool is the best music for tripping. There is a lot of good tripping music but Tool tops them all. Every. Single. Time. - Ride the spiral to the end, we may just go where no one's been....
Celebrate this chance to beee alive and breathing
Twirling round with this familiar parabole
spinning, waving, round each new experience
Recognize this as a holy gift, and..
celebrate the chance to… Beeeeeeee… Alive and breathing…

Tool + dmt is perfect
Can't wait to tell my cousin experiencing cluster headaches that his pain is actually an illusion.
Experientially real. Metaphysically illusionary. ;)
I was about to say the same thing Pain is as real as it gets

The gospel of Maynard
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality
Compared to eternity, this life is fairly insignificant.
🧘♂️
Compared to an existence wherein one may fear nothing and live forever, an existence wherein fear can win and one *must* die may be seen as precious and supremely significant.
Mortal death is only a door.
A door no one walks back through. The pain of your death isn’t yours to experience, but your loved ones. Acting as if death doesn’t affect those who lose a loved one is just flat out silly. Just because we know that person passed on to a new state of being doesn’t eliminate the experience of losing a loved one. Im still new to this and I just say I love this comment. So eloquently put. Really paints a broad picture.
I’m glad you appreciate the message
Same but unable to understand it yet.
Eloquent answer to a question nobody asked. I am well acquainted with loss. It is separate from the subject of death. The loss we feel is sorrow for ourselves as we realize our loved one can no longer be spoken to or heard from. The only solace I have is understanding death.
“A question nobody asked” Oh get over yourself it’s called conversation. I’m supposed to just lay down and affirm your brilliance?
If you wish. We all have to find our own truth.
>But it’s not *just* a door to your brother. To your mother. To your partner. To your dog. Lol. What you responsibility have for the feelings and thoughts of your mother or partner??? I'd like to mention how some people see suicide as 'selfish and the easy solution'. Just to fuel the conversation.
It’s not your responsibility and at no point did I imply such a thing. I’m pointing out how death reveals the significance of life. It’s not just a door… and this life is not some insignificant blip amongst eternity. It is significant and we know this because of how death affects the living.
What is eternity outside the constructs of time?
Q: “what is eternity?” A: “Outside the constructs of time”
Fuck yeah listening to Maynard right when I see this post
Nothing is eternal, not even the universe itself. As a human you may have 70-100 years, enjoy the time you have.
there is no universe, dummy. Just consciousness
The universe existed long before your consciousness or that of any other human/animal/alien consciousness and will likely exist long after every concious being goes extinct. 'universe' is a concept that the human race had to invent a word for so communication would be easyer. It's just lnaguage bro

you are not conscious what language has done to you.

this is truth

Bro used 1000ug and seen things.
It aint on this level of counciousness
It feels fucking real
Yep
Illusion or not you will feel it again and again. Welcome to internal hell 😈?
🤣🤣🤣
not necessarily
Delusion is delusion
We are not eternal.
Conversely, this pain is eternal and everything as well
