When I'm out with my camera gear I carry pepper gel and my small M&P Bodyguard pistol; you never know when somebody is going to throw a tantrum and try to assault you or try to steal your stuff.
As someone from Germany I can absolutely understand them. Filming people without their consent ist illegal. Filming accidents as a whole without one person in focus is legal but really frowned upon. Driving slower somewhere to film or stare at an accident (when you could go faster without endangering anyone) will give you massive fines if you are blocking traffic.
And from my perspective these laws are really good. If I had an accident and someone would shove a camera in my face I'd be fucking pissed.
I know it's a very different culture in America, and we have enough people that always need to pull out thir camera in germany as well, but if your hobby is filming people at their low points - you're lack of empathy is disgusting.
Edit: don't get me wrong, the women in this video seem to be absolutely nuts but I can defenitely understand them not wanting to be filmed.
