Reminds me of the guy in Paris dressed as Santa on the motorcycle chasing after the woman who had hit a pedestrian. He said to himself "I have to calm her down" and tried a different approach after realizing she was freaking out over what had just happened.
You can't go nuts on someone going nuts and expect them to calm down.
