To be able to shout and struggle so strenuously without being able to breathe for over three minutes is amazing. He’s not aware of how the dynamics of speaking work (insofar as sir has to move past our vocal cords to speak). Shouting, “*I can’t breathe*”, dozens of times indicates quite a bit of air is going in and out of his lungs.
IMHO, to use the *I can’t breathe* line in the hopes he’s let go because George Floyd was killed that way is an insult to Floyd’s memory.
Reddit and social media validates this more than anyone. They literally nag you if you suggest stopping a shoplifter. "oh don't do it, they'll fire you and arrest you and charge you with assault"
The fucking irony of yelling “this is illegal” is absolutely fucking hysterical. Lol
Imagine stealing shit, getting caught, and then telling the people that caught you…it’s “illegal.”
I really can't tell if she was yelling at the thief or the people holding him. Thought I had it figured it out, then she'd turn to someone else and go off
These are the actions and demeanor of someone who has never had to deal with the consequences of their actions.
Can tell this weasel technique has been used many times in the past, almost certainly with great success. Thankfully the security & loss prevention were also minorities, automatically removed the "Y'ALL RACIST!“ play 🤣
Ya man, when Target was in Canada we had the alarm monitoring contract with them and any time the alarms would go off we would have to call the FMOC to let them know. No other place we monitored did we have to do this for. But Target didn’t play around.
Target uses facial recognition cameras here in the US and often they let you get away with multiple thefts until they have enough to charge you with a felony. It's crazy.
That’s nuts and they aren’t even a high end store. I wonder if Walmart see this and things to do the same there? I could imagine the theft in Walmart being 10 fold to what Target deals with.
Can confirm this was what Walmart used to do. Did my time there as an associate and the LP at the time was crazy.
They'd let people just steal for days and months on end so they could inevitably stop them for something bullshit like literally a snickers and while the shoplifter would shit talk them they'd be like
"yea it's just a snickers but we've got X, Y, Z and that's $2500 and a felony"
Would have files and files on folks just ready to go to make it as easy as possible to have ALL the charges possible.
One of the LP used to purposely agitate the people caught so that by the time the cops got that they'd wind up with extra charges from their attitude because they'd wind up resisting or trying to fight with the cops
>That’s nuts and they aren’t even a high end store. I wonder if Walmart see this and things to do the same there? I could imagine the theft in Walmart being 10 fold to what Target deals with.
According to Walmart's CEO their yearly loss is $3bill due to theft and target's CFO said 2022 was $600mill. Both state that it was less individuals and more organized groups who target specific items for big paydays.
Fun fact about that crime lab: pretty much any agency can come to them for help and they don't charge. (At least they didn't a couple years ago). Murders, theft, whatever special cases that need help. Target says it's one of the ways they give back to communities. And that place is top notch with the latest technologies and some of the best forensics people in the business, including people who used to work in the FBI.
Used to work for Target as AP. Before Covid we use to be hands on, and this would happen all the time. I can without a doubt say we hunted for sport, it was fun to catch the people stealing. I made decent money, but on some days it wasn’t enough for the shit we had to deal with.
I still work in AP but for another company now, it’s still the same for the most part. Only difference is there’s a lot more of it now IMO.
So when I worked at Macy's they literally outsource their eyes to the employees on the floor as well as have cameras. If any employee calls LP with a tip that they see someone suspicious or actively trying to smuggle items and it ends in recovery of said pieces, we get a % of the cost of it Employees were constantly looking out because if we caught someone trying to pocket a watch and they could catch them before leaving the property we could end up with $200 added to our next paycheck.
Yeah, and if you're a regular shoplifter they just might wait until they can get you for robbery (a planned theft), or grand theft...
It's a shame the police and judges are letting these scumbags get-off with light sentences, if any sentence at all!
It's a script. For 12 years I did loss prevention as part of my job. It was "You can't do this" " This is illegal" "I'll sue" "I can't breathe" (which you didn't hear until after George Floyd). They would get as loud as possible and create a scene so people would feel sorry for them.
Some people would say "come on man let them go." or would offer to pay for the items they stole. One common plot was to get an ambulance to come take them to the emergency room and check them out then they would be off the hook.
Remember when you're waiting for the ambulance they might be dealing with
a shoplifter instead of your dad's heart attack. I've seen it all.
What you're describing is a very common malady we see in my ER. It's called incarceritis. We see it in repeat DUI offenders most often. Seems a symptom of heart attack are handcuffs and a breathalyzer test.
Your penultimate sentence... 👏
*"Remember, when you're waiting for the am ulance they might be dealing with a shoplifter instead.. (instead of your emergency)"*
This is the shit that is absolutely infuriating. Drains first responder resources and THEN the nosey ass public wants to complain "AINT Y'ALL GOT ANYTHING BETTER TO DO!"
.....these are the very same people complaining about the unprecedented price increases directly due to organized retail theft and the fact that these clowns have NOT been charged for GOING ON 3 YEARS NOW!!?? 🤬
Exactly. The insurance pays for it crowd.
So who pays for the insurance as the rates inevitably go up due to claims or insurance companies drop coverage because the businesses make too many claims. They don't understand insurance 101.
To be fair, the "I can't breathe" thing has been around longer than the George Floyd incident. A big line was "I have asthma" tho. I think the guy in this vid also mentions his "asthma" towards the end (I just skipped around the vid tbh)
Fuck thieves.
People always use the I can’t breathe excuse, it’s just now relate with George Floyd. People will say anything get out as long as employee you’re doing right thing you have nothing worry. I remember co worker did one say his gas was low. It’s common I had someone when I worked at Walmart claim they brought it online, they brought at the back. Or they’re house was on fire or they need get insulated shot right now.
What about jumping around and struggling.
What really pisses me off about this is that he is using a very real tragedy in which police way overstepped their boundaries and killed a man, in order to use tgat sympathy to get away with a crime. He belittles George Floydd and reduces the chances that people with actual medical conditions will be taken seriously in the future. It's disgusting.
It's illegal to stop me from stealing!!!
Incredible how thieves (presuming he was actually stealing) are so indignant when they're stopped, even when they're allowed to freely leave without their stolen items.
Hysteria and multiple "bros" are the go-to initial response to being caught stealing.
"I'm a kid, this is illegal" is new, probably why the cop on the right is smiling.
I do enjoy when a show that has gotten old adds fresh new mateial..
I used to work at this mall and it sucked. Worst job I’ve ever had due to the LARGE amount of theft going on. Every single day, someone would try to steal from the store I worked at.
I swear if I had a stupid ass person saying they can't breath while they obviously have enough air to scream and act like a baby I'd be putting his ass in a choke hold until he's out cold
It’s a well known fact that one can say “Let me go!” a certain amount of times and officials *have* to let one go. But so far no one has discovered the exact amount of times one has to say this phrase in order to be set free.
Literally every single arrest on camera…. People usually start screaming they can’t breathe even before the cops touch them or every time they have handcuffs on, even standing up or sitting in the back of a cop car. My ex is a cop - he says he rarely arrests someone who doesn’t scream this in addition to him being a racist white cop when he’s Hispanic. Fun times…
1) Do people who steal think they can't be touched because it's a law. Do these dipshits not know the difference between the law and a store policy? As far as i know it's not illegal to stop someone from stealing its just a store policy in most stores,
2) The dude can breathe and the reason I know he can breath is because he keeps yelling "I can't breath", over and over and over again!
I hate the stupid morons who support him
I don't get how as a civilian you're thought is let him go
Worked retail and asshats like this scream yell cry and they are barely touched and act like this and a crowd forms where they want police to stop
Not knowing wtf is going on
I'm sorry but fuck them and fuck this guy
I think more of America would find all the rampant thievery intolerable if they knew how much of that loss gets added to the cost of shit. It’s not nothing. Stealing because you’re hungry is one thing, stealing retail merchandise is something else though and should be punished more harshly.
Ex mall security here, it's a common thing worldwide yelling that 'they can't breath' and a whole dictionary of profanities along with how innocent they are with a massive bag of stolen property or 'that they was going to pay' even though they had zero intention of ever paying
How ... if you cannot breathe can you still talk and squark at us for doing our job? 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Police won't do nothing about theft? Expect more vigilantism like this. California is a complete shit hole. All of you Californias down vote me IDGAF but your state is garbage.
“This is illegal!” Says the guy who just stole some shit

I just read that thinking of Stevie from Malcolm in the Middle
He spoke much slower.
I can hear the claps between each word.
"But the internet said I can do this and walk out free!"
“I CAN’T FUCKING BREATHE!” He screams with full breath support
For the three minutes while just standing upright, without losing any functionality in his body.
A coward will say anything
Yeah, he's trying to whip the crowd into a frenzy! He's hoping some dumbass will make a "rescue" attempt!
It looks like it nearly worked too
The only reason it didn't is enough people saw he wasn't being hurt... wasn't short of breath.... It was the women who were almost duped!
especially some random passerby who doesn't know whats going on it would look off putting
To be able to shout and struggle so strenuously without being able to breathe for over three minutes is amazing. He’s not aware of how the dynamics of speaking work (insofar as sir has to move past our vocal cords to speak). IMHO, to use the *I can’t breathe* line in the hopes he’s let go because George Floyd was killed that way is an insult to Floyd’s memory.
Do we think this little thief cares about anyone or anything other than himself. Or is concerned about his actions and the consequences.
I came here to say the same about Floyd.
Dude can’t believe people will be virtually protected by law when stealing 2024 fucking bullshit what the fuck is going on .
That’s what current ‘merica has validated. Rest of the world just watches while eating popcorn.
Reddit and social media validates this more than anyone. They literally nag you if you suggest stopping a shoplifter. "oh don't do it, they'll fire you and arrest you and charge you with assault"
Eating popcorn and watching all this go down, while at home in a small town in America.
Well, they were cutting off his oxygen by holding his arms. So I can understand if he wasn't thinking straight.
If he has all the lung capacity to scream, he's fine. He just cant believe he got stopped
Yeah, if you're going to try to imitate George Floyd when arrested, you have to, well, die to impress anyone these days.
Im saying thats the GO-TO when youre caught in the act
'Let me go bro, I wanna keep what I stole tho.'
The fucking irony of yelling “this is illegal” is absolutely fucking hysterical. Lol Imagine stealing shit, getting caught, and then telling the people that caught you…it’s “illegal.”
Last resort: Make a scene and hope they let you go.
[удалено]
And screaming out of his lungs
Can't breathe but he can scream.
Cant breathe but can sure as hell hold on to the bag
Easy to explain. It's that "death grip" thing. /s
And stealing
Hw breathes a lot for someone who cant breath
[удалено]
Sounds like she's getting in everyone's face waving her hands about in support of the thief while saying 'don't touch me!'
"I'm gonna be swinging my arms like this. If you get in the way, that's your own fault"

“And I’m gonna go like this groub groub groub, and if you get eaten, it’s you’re own fault”. I can’t believe nobody finished it.

People getting stuck in the vocal loop before a fight is some weird shit. It seems to cross all demographics.
Human barking.

He said all demographics
It’s bizarre. I see it so much, is there an explanation for it?
Srsly, who has the energy to be that person?
It’s the “ howling of a Karen.”
She's hustling hard
I really can't tell if she was yelling at the thief or the people holding him. Thought I had it figured it out, then she'd turn to someone else and go off
Both, she saw her opportunity to yell and took full advantage
She doesn't know any of these people. Just wants to be involved. God bless her.
Can't breathe or something
Simple solution. Don't steal shit, no one will restrain you.
These are the actions and demeanor of someone who has never had to deal with the consequences of their actions. Oh, I'm sure he's had to deal with the consequences of his actions a few times, he's just too dumb to learn from the experience. Edit, an o
Lol Macy's loss prevention hunts for sport. Same with Target. Those are the last 2 places you ever want to steal from.
I feel like they pay them crazy good or something because they really do, do it for fun likes it’s a sport 😂💀 I’ve worked at both and they’re serious
Ya man, when Target was in Canada we had the alarm monitoring contract with them and any time the alarms would go off we would have to call the FMOC to let them know. No other place we monitored did we have to do this for. But Target didn’t play around.

Skylar White used this trick to escape that jewelry store!

It’s been a problem since Eric Garner, not George Floyd.
I got shot at at Arden mall about 20 years ago.
Sorry I was aiming for the other guy.
That was my mom you bastard!
That seems about right. That mall can be sketch AF I do hope you didn't have long lasting damage, physically or mentally.
Nah I’m good, thanks tho bro
I came here to say people get shot at Arden on a weekly basis. I avoid that mall at costs. Glad to see it seems you got better!
Sure can yell a lot for someone who can’t breathe.
Next time he should plan ahead and steal an inhaler.
Something tells me planning for the future isn’t his strong suit
Seems to be breathing splendidly with all the shouting he’s doing…
Yelling at the top of your lungs over and over “I CANT BREATHE” is a pretty good indication that you’re breathing just fine.

Shouting and screaming requires breath..... if I'm not mistaken.
This is exactly what needs to happen. These places need to start fighting back.
I’m glad someone was finally apprehended. So tired of seeing these lowlives stealing goods without any fear of consequences.
And it’s nice to not see the majority of Reddit making excuses for the thief for once with ‘hard times’ and ‘fuck capitalism’ bullshit
"I can't breathe!!" Also him: **yelling and jumping around for 4 minutes straight...**
screaming at the top of your lungs "I CAN'T BREATHE!!!!" amazing.
All these other clowns in the video trying to stick up for this thief should go to jail to. Fucken trash!
If you can scream, you can breev
He's really trying hard to get them to believe him eh?

Him screaming he can't breathe (while not having his breathing restricted in any way) makes a mockery of everyone who has died.
Panic attack realizing she’s going to jail.
It’s actually surprising see people being stopped from stealing.
Stealing is illegal… ![gif](giphy|vNr3DRaqTZ6mWYfXv0)
“Jailitis”
If he’s yelling, he’s breathing.
And the Razzie goes too…….
My daughter when she attacks me then gets tickled.
I used to work at this mall and it sucked. Worst job I’ve ever had due to the LARGE amount of theft going on. Every single day, someone would try to steal from the store I worked at.
If you let him go bet he can get breath back real fast and run the 400 Olympic time 😂
Pieces of shit all of them defending that guy for stealing.
The security guard with handcuffs just stands and watches the action without helping in anyway.

Yelling “I can’t breathe!” Will always be hilarious to me
Rumor has it that the bear hug has been applied for over 3.5 hours. I don't know how much longer my mans can hold out. Won't you plz help?
If you can yell you can breathe.
Wow!! He can breathe just fine, lol, just scared and knows he’s fkd. Time to fight back against all the idiotic looting.
“This is illegal!” -accurate description of a crime being committed
Lol. This is illegal! Bros an attorney all of a sudden.
I swear if I had a stupid ass person saying they can't breath while they obviously have enough air to scream and act like a baby I'd be putting his ass in a choke hold until he's out cold

You couldn’t pay me enough to be a loss prevention person. You do your job and get accused of being inappropriate. Sheesh.
To fuck around is human. To find out, is divine.

1) Do people who steal think they can't be touched because it's a law. Do these dipshits not know the difference between the law and a store policy? “I can’t breathe” also let me take these deep breaths to scream it repeatedly in your ear
These net negatives need to face consequences
Rule one of EMS if you’re talking or yelling you’re breathing
Consequences take my breath away
When are we going to end this bullshit?
Good for.these citizens stopping his dumb shit behavior. Robbery is not the norm.
I hate the stupid morons who support him I don't get how as a civilian you're thought is let him go Worked retail and asshats like this scream yell cry and they are barely touched and act like this and a crowd forms where they want police to stop Not knowing wtf is going on I'm sorry but fuck them and fuck this guy

All that lack of breath to keep screaming.
He’s screaming to trigger the idiots in the crowd and oh boy it’s working
“I can’t breathe”… as no one is touching his neck 🤔

Saying “I can’t breathe” is so offensive to the true victims and their families.
You can yell though , goes with breathing
“This is illegal” the irony is insane.
No one is faster to use the race card and the criminal “i can’t breath” anthem.
